New College, New people
Sophie sighed as she clipped her hair back with her trademark black bow. Oh how she hated having to leave England and come to New York just because her father had a 'business trip'. In all honesty, he just wanted to come here to spend time with his beloved fiancee who Sophie hated.
Her mother died when she was young because of cancer. She wished she could of saved her. Given every ounce of her life to her mother so she could live on.
Her father's fiancee was a stuck up cow who would always complain about her to her own father! She even faked getting slapped by Sophie just to get her chucked out for a few nights! Talk about ugly evil stepmothers....
But today was the worst day. College. She hated it almost as much as her father's fiancee. That's pretty damn hard. Sophie trudged down the hallway to grab her black leather backpack only to find Lucy, her stepmother, going through her bag! Lucy pulled out a container of make up and dabbed a bit too much of the blushed on her cheeks making them look like tomatoes. Sophie giggled at this sight catching Lucy's attention. Lucy gasped and tried to stuff everything neatly back into Sophie's bag, quickly walking away like she had a baguette shoved up her- WAIT!
"Hey! Why are you using MY make up and not your own! And your going through my bag! That's a violation of property!" Lucy gulped after hearing Sophie yell at her red-handed self. She quickly resolved this by saying,
"Unless you want your father to hear about how you have been spending your time in the dance studio instead of helping me, he will make sure you never do ballet again in your life!" Lucy scowled in an ugly, unpleasant manner.
'How did she know about my secret trips to the dance studio!? Wait...has she been stalking me!?' Sophie had no time for thoughts as she nodded furiously at her stepmother, grabbing her leather bag, black coat and red tarten scarf before leaving.
Sophie looked intently at her watch, not looking where she was going. Thump.
"Sorry ma'am. Are you ok?"
Sophie squinted a bit before looking towards the calm voice that had spoken to her. She looked up to see a rather handsome man reaching his hand out to her. She grabbed the hand and felt herself being pulled up with great strength. Then it clicked. She ran into this man, in public. She blushed and apologized profusely,
"I am so, so sorry sir! I'm in a rush and I wasn't looking where I was going! Sorry!"
"It's ok. I'm guessing you should get going now. Maybe I'll see you around some more. By your accent I guess your not from America, huh? I'll show you around a bit some other time. Sorry for the inconvenience ma'am."
The man's soothing voice calmed Sophie down as she hid her blush with her scarf. The man began to walk off, despite her wanting to get to know him some more. But she had other things to deal with. Like getting to college on time!
