He had just gotten home from another show and since you lived in Montana, and there was too much snow, he called you and said that he would rent a car and drive home and you said that you would wait for him like you did last year and his family was around and it was Christmas time and all the gifts stayed wrapped until he got home.

Right now he's on his phone talking to you and he's sad knowing that you were alone. You were in the hospital and he talked non stop to you not even stopping to get a bite to eat knowing that you just wanted him there. You said that you would wait for him like when our child was born but I said that he would have to wait until you got there

When he did get there, the doctor told him that you were in a better place and that you wanted him to have the note you wrote him which he read at your funeral.

It said

I'll wait for you at Heaven's gate oh I don't care how long it takes. And I'll tell Saint Pete I can't come in without my love and my best friend  oh this ain't nothing new, sweetheart I'll wait for you.
