Your Child's first word

Your Child's First Word:

Niall:

You and your eleven month old son, Liam, were waiting at the airport for Niall’s flight to come home. Liam happily bounced in your lap. Niall had been away with the boys for six months now and both you and Liam had been having a rough time without Niall being there. Niall too was very upset about not being able to see your son, who was growing up so fast. “Look Li,” you said excitedly, catching Niall’s eye as he exited the plane, “There’s daddy!” Liams face lit up with a big smile when he saw Niall running over to the both of you. Niall’s face turned to shock and tears sprung to his eyes. “Li? You are so big!” Niall pulled Liam into his arms and hugged him tight. You joined the group hug. Through your cheerful and tear filled reunion, a rude man called out to you three, “Shut up over there!” “Cunt,” Niall muttered as he held Li closer to him. “Cwunt,” Liam copied. You gasped, “Ni, that’s his first word,” you exclaimed. “Like father like son, I suppose,” Niall said rubbing his nose on Liams, causing the little boy to giggle.

Louis:

“C’mon Kendall,” you sighed picking her up, “Time for bed.” She pouted and crossed her little arms over her chest. Kendall was now thirteen months old and she was supposed to be talking by now. Louis was home from tour and Kendall was shy around him, because he had missed nine months of her life. Usually she warmed up to people really quick, but with Lou it was different. “I’ll be right up,” Lou grumbled, angry that Kendall didn’t want him to put her to bed. Kendall watched an upset Louis from over your shoulder as you walked upstairs to her room. After all, her father has always been there to kiss her goodnight when he was here. You changed Kendall into her pajamas and placed her into her crib. She stood up and looked at you blankly. “Lie down Ken,” you told her, giving her a kiss on her head. You laid her back down and pulled the covers over her. You shut the light off and closed the door. Kendall waited for awhile, but when she found out that her dad wasn’t going to say goodnight to her tonight she stood up and started crying. “Dada,” she screamed repeatedly through her tears. Louis rushed into the room with you closely behind him. He pulled his little girl into his arms and started to whisper to the child. Soon Kendall was asleep in his arms. He put her back in her crib and you heard him whisper, “Mommy is going to be so jealous.”

Harry:

Harry was always taunting your one year old son Marek, whether it is with food, toys, or even handing him over to you. Harry would ask Marek if he wanted the item before pulling it out of his tiny hands before he could grab hold. You could see the confusion mask your son’s sweet face before he was back to his giggly self. Today, you were making breakfast for the three of you while Harry was still sleeping. He had gotten home late last night so he was exhausted. Marek was keeping you company. You smiled at the content little boy sitting in his high chair and playing with a few toys while making silly noises. “Hello beautiful,” Harry said passing you and giving you a kiss on the cheek. He grabbed a banana and peeled it on his way over to Marek. “Hey little man,” he said, pushing Marek’s curls out of his way and pecking his forehead. “Nana?” Marek asked, reaching up for Harry’s banana. You and Harry looked at each other before breaking into grins. “Well, since that was your first word, you can have this banana all to yourself Marek,” Harry said, proud of his son. Marek cautiously reached out for the banana and when he saw that Harry wasn’t going to pull it away from him, he finally took it. Marek now says nana all of the time, knowing that he will actually get something from his father without pulling it away first.

Zayn:

“Brie,” you called out as a warning to your daughter as she tried to hit her twin, “You better not hit Hadley.” Brie put her head down, feeling bad that she was caught.  You were watching TV and folding laundry while the girls were playing in their playpen. Zayn burst through the door with a big smile on his face. “Hello my beautiful family,” he chuckled. You grinned as he placed a big kiss on you cheek. “How are my beautiful babies?” he asked in a sweet voice, going over to the pen where they stood smiling up at him. “Brie likes to bully Had,” you told him simply, folding a towel. “Is that so?” Zayn asked, looking down at Brie. Brie just sat there, staring up at her father, not knowing what was happening. “Let me save you then little girl,” Zayn said lifting Hadley out of the play cage. He started to tickle her and throw her up in the air playing with her. Brie looked over at you pleadingly but you continued to fold the laundry. “M…mama,” Brie stumbled over the word. You stood up and Zayn stopped playing with Hadley to look over at Brie. “Good job Brie! You said mama,” you cheered, picking her up and playing with her like Zayn had been playing with Hadley. Brie beamed and Hadley wasn’t far behind with her first word which happened to be “Dada.” From then on it was a friendly competition between you and Brie against Zayn and Hadley.

Liam:

It’s now around the time when your son Landon should be beginning to speak, but for some reason he refused to talk. “Come on Landon, please say something,” you pleaded as you were feeding him. He just giggled at you instead. You sighed frustrated. Liam came down and saw your stressed face. “What’s wrong love?” he asked, coming behind you to massage your shoulders. “Landon won’t talk to me,” you said. “Well that’s because he can’t (Y/N),” Liam replied with a chuckle. “I know,” you staid stubbornly. “Let’s go watch a movie and unwind a bit yeah?” he asked, pulling Landon up from his highchair. They sat down on the couch while you started the movie up. “Peeka boo,” Liam said with a smile after hiding his face from Landon. Landon giggled hysterically, peeka boo being his favorite game. “Now you try,” Liam said to his son. Landon hid his face with his chubby hands and popped out, “Boo,” he said with a laugh. You and Liam were shocked and then you started cheering. “Yay Lando! You said your first word,” Liam cheered, bouncing your son up and down on his lap. “I love you guys,” you said with a smile as you gave each of your boys a kiss on their heads.
