Your out of your element (punk series)

Harry: You opted for a black dress on the night of the release party for Harry's newly signed band. You had guessed a bubblegum pink dress wouldn't fit in with the crowd Harry surrounded himself with, so black was a good choice. Nude pumps accented the black lace dress but nothing made you comfortable enough to attend this party with Harry. You stood at his side, slightly behind him, as he conversed with the band and their friends. The party was crowded, hundreds of people showing up at the venue Harry had booked to get a look at the band or to support Harry. You felt incredibly out of place, considering the female vocalist of the group was in jeans and Converses. She had given you the once over with a pointed glare before continuing her conversation with your boyfriend and you had to admit, she looked more like a girl Harry would go for. "What are you doing over here?" You hear a familiar Irish voice question you and you look up with a grateful smile as Niall slides into the seat in front of you. "Didn't want to get in the way," you tell him, watching as three other men gather around your table before taking a seat. "This is Zayn. He went to uni with me and Harry. That's Louis, he's friends with Ed and him and Harry are pretty good friends now. And this is Liam, him and Harry have been friends for a while," Niall explains, each man giving you a head nod at his introduction. They launch into a discussion about music and football and you once again shrink into the seat behind you. Harry eventually makes his way over to you three hours later and he finds you off in a corner by yourself. "What are you doing over here?" Harry questions with a wide grin, long arms wrapping around you as he pulls you into a hug. You grip the back of his white Henley, trying your hardest to keep the tears at bay but Harry can sense something is wrong. "Too much?" He questions, pressing you into the wall behind you so he can press himself tighter against you to try and give you the comfort you need. "I'm just anxious," you try to explain; thankful that Harry understands you need his strength and the pressure of his body against yours when you have an anxiety attack. "I'm sorry that you feel so out of place here," Harry apologizes, pressing kisses to your temple and you instantly feel bad for ruining the night for him. "I'm sorry, I'm so difficult," you say, a few tears slipping out and Harry gives you a soft grin. "You're not that difficult... come on, I'll keep you close and include you," he reassures, fingers sliding into the spaces between yours in a tight hold before he's pulling you back into the party.

Liam: Kids were not your strong suit. All the crying and attention and bodily functions they produced were things that annoyed you. Kids in general annoyed you. Yet, here you were at the fifth birthday party for Liam's beloved niece. Overall, the actual birthday party wasn't horrible; it was at a park with an Alice and Wonderland theme, which meant you didn't have to interact much with the kids running around. Liam was off playing with his niece, pouring tea for her and her friends and you have to admit... it's a cute visual. Anything with Liam is a cute visual but him with kids takes it to a new level. "Will you help me with my hat?" A little girl asks you, dressed in a bright pink dress and holding a blue hat out to you. You stare at her for a moment before sighing and leaning forward to secure the hat to her smooth hair. She gives you a toothy grin before picking her nose, your eyes narrowing with a grimace before she crawls into your lap. Pushing a child to the floor seems inappropriate so you opt for trying to scoot her off your lap but she doesn't budge. "You're pretty... are you Lili's girlfriend?" She questions, sticking her thumb in her mouth and you take a deep breath. "Yes... don't you want to go play with the other minions?" You ask her, trying to stand but she clings to you. Children are really just overgrown tumors. "I see you've made a friend," Liam teases, tugging on one of your curls with a smirk and if looks could kill...he'd be dead. Suddenly, more kids appear wanting you to help them with their hats and telling you how pretty you were and wanting you to play with them. "I hate you," you snap, barely hanging onto the girl in your arms. You'll have to take an hour-long shower to wash away the stench of children. "Cake time," Ruth cheers, watching as you heave a sigh of relief as the children detach themselves from you to run for cake and ice cream. "I hate kid, even more than I did before," you explain at Liam's hopeful gaze and you watch as his face falls a little. "They're dirty and messy and they smell and they want to climb on you and they whine and...they're just drunk adults," you tell him with crossed arms and Liam nods his head. "That might change," Liam says with a smile that makes you want to deck him. "They're kids," someone says from behind him and you recognize Niall, a little girl plastered to his leg as he waddles over to the two of you. "This is Harry," Liam introduces, giving the little blonde girl in his arms a smile before tickling her stomach. The sound of her laughter makes you want to vomit. "Nice to meet you," you say with a forced smile, avoiding touching the girl in his arms as you shake hands. "She won't bite," the curly haired man explains with a smile and you glare at him. An hour later the boys are laughing hysterically as you sit with a pile of kids around you and you look ready to commit murder.

Niall: Tattoo conventions were never on your list of things to do. "It'll be fun... and I have to go, at least if you tag along I'll have something pretty to look at," Niall had convinced you with a wide grin, kisses spreading across your face once you'd agreed. Now, you were regretting your decision. You were surrounded by people covered in ink and piercings and multicolored hair and you felt extremely out of place. You were pretty much the only girl dressed in normal clothes of boots, leggings, and a sweater. You had tried to map your escape at least a dozen times before Niall would pull you back with a sweet kiss or a promise of something more your style later that night. With promises of attention, how could you leave? Niall, of course, was completely at home and friendly with everyone he passed and you just followed behind like a lost puppy. "Niall...oh my gosh, so good to see you!" You hear a girl exclaim and when you look up from your phone, you see a girl wrapping her tattooed arms around Niall's neck. This girl clearly has a death wish but she looks like she'd kill you so you stay at Niall's back. "Holly. Wasn't expecting you to be here, thought you were in New York?" Niall questions with a bright smile and the two launch themselves into an animated conversation. "You got some new ink," Niall smiles, shaking hands with a man that had approached the two before him and this Holly girl start discussing the new work she has. "I'm Zayn, I went to uni with Niall," the man explains coming over to you and shaking your hand with a smile that you return. "Who's she?" You question, not beating around the bush and Zayn looks to the two while at your side. "His ex from back in the day," he explains and you give the girl a pointed glare. "You don't look like you belong here," another man with a kind smile offers, walking up to the two of you. "I'm here with my boyfriend. He owns a shop," you explain, pointing to where Niall is still chatting with his ex. "You're Niall's girl? He talks about you all the time. I'm Liam," the man introduces, shaking your hand and you nod. "Five years," Liam explains when you ask him how long Niall and Holly had been together and you scoff. Niall has, of course, never mentioned the girl. He finds you an hour later, sitting on a couch outside of the arena with your arms crossed and a dead phone. "There you are. I've been looking for you," Niall says, bending down to press a kiss to your pouting lips before he takes a seat beside you. "It was good to see Holly and Zayn. Did you meet them?" He questions, offering you his popcorn and you scoff before slapping it out of his hand so it dumps to the floor. You stomp away from him, opting to ride home with a waiting Harry than listen to Niall talk about his ex or the convention he had dragged you to and left you to your own devices.

Louis: The day you had dreaded for months was finally here. You stand behind Louis as he stares at his reflection in the full length mirror. "You alright?" You ask softly, straightening his tie from behind. "I'm going to have to be," he says with little emotion. He turns around without looking at you and heads out the bedroom door. The two of you slip into the Porsche once you had gathered everything you needed for the day. You place your hand lightly over the one had resting on the gear shift. You could tell he was letting the events of this day get to him. If anything negative came out of today he could lose his ownership which seemed to be all he was thinking about. You keep silent knowing anything you said would only be heard by you. Once up to the courthouse you are faced with the seriousness this case held. At least twenty paparazzi were standing outside waiting for Louis to show up. His head falls as he sighs loudly. You squeeze his hand tightly, hoping to show your support silently. As soon as he parks the car the two of you are immediately surrounded. He takes your hand tightly, bringing you into him as he pushes through the swarm the paparazzi had formed around him. Once inside the building he turns to you with concern. "You okay?" "A bit intense," you admit, "but yeah, I'm fine babe." He turns around to address the security guard in the lobby. "And you couldn't have done something about that?" You pull on his hand, reminding him to keep calm. "Sorry sir, I'm supposed to stay here." Louis scoffs and moves through the metal detector. His lawyer approaches the two of you as soon as you emerge from the security checkpoint. "Feeling alright?" He asks Louis. Louis nods. "She has nothing on you mate, this will be a short hearing, and the board will have nothing to complain about." His words didn't seem to relax Louis much. He instructs the two of you to sit down on the bench outside the courtroom while he goes and makes a few calls in the lobby. As soon as he is seated, Louis's knee begins to bounce. "Babe," you say softly, resting your hand on his knee. "I'm sorry, I can't help it." His tone saddens you. You have never seen him like this before. "You heard him though, she has nothing on you." As your words of confidence finish the two of you are greeted by a familiar face. "Hey mate, you feeling alright?" Liam asks, greeting Louis with a handshake and you with a kiss on the cheek. Louis can only nod before it is time for him to enter the courtroom. You fall beside Liam as Louis and his lawyer entered the room first. The two of you take your seats behind them. You had never been in a court room before other than to get your driver's license and the vibes you were getting from being at an actual hearing made you never want to return. "How have you been throughout all of this?" Liam asks you. "Honestly, I haven't been putting too much thought into it seeing as it seems like she doesn't really have a case. But now that it's actually happening I am unbelievably nervous. I don't even belong here." Your confession saddened Liam. "Everything will be fine, she really has nothing on him," he admits of his sister. Your knee begins to bounce just as Louis's had before entering the courtroom. Your stomach begins to fold into knots as his ex-girlfriend takes her seat on the other side of the room. "All rise for the honorable judge Kendrick," announces the bailiff. 'This is it' you think to yourself as you and everyone in the room stands to their feet.

Zayn: "What do you mean you can't go?" You question after hearing his news over the phone. "You have to go, it's your class." Zayn had been sick for the past couple of days but was hoping to be well enough to teach his weekly art class the National Gallery had set up for him over a month ago. "You're going to have to go for me," he says without a beat, not even asking you if it was an option. "Excuse me? I can't teach your class for you," you admit. "You do clothing sketches, I've seen them. You can do something with sketches." His ideas sounded horrible to you. "Babe please, I'm not asking you to teach maths, it's one hour." After waiting for him to finish his marathon of sneezes you finally agree to replace him just this once at the gallery. You stop by his apartment to collect the things he used for the class and also to drop off Sophie so she could keep him company while you were off trying to be him. "Just be you, they'll love that," he says with an assuring smile from the couch. You roll your eyes and head back down to the parking garage. The lady at the gallery's front desk immediately recognizes you and comes from behind the desk to greet you. "Where is Zayn?" She asks once finding out how you had been. "He's a bit ill to be honest and he wanted me to teach his class tonight, if that's alright, it's totally fine if it isn't though," you say hoping for her to catch on. "Oh no that's fine. He told me you worked for Mr. McQueen, so you must have a lot of artistic abilities." "I'll have to thank him for sharing that information." She takes you to your room where a few students were already waiting. You smiled at them and sit down all of your things on the table at the front of the room. "Before you ask," you begin, trying to get explanations of your presence out of the way first, "Zayn is sick so I am here for him tonight." They all nodded and brought their attention back to their phones. Once the room had filled up with the amount of students Zayn had said you would have you explain your presence once again to the ones who had missed your first round. "Tonight we're going to work on sketching," you begin your lesson, unsure of how receptive they would be of a substitute. "I do a lot of fashion sketching, so tonight I want you all to design your perfect outfit, whether it be something you already own and love to wear, or something you have seen in the magazines and want to wear. Make sure to include every aspect of your outfit individually, shirts, pants, shoes, accessories. For the guys, make sure you include bowties and hats if that is the way you want to go." "Can you give us an example of how you want us to lay this out on the paper?" One of the students asks. "Absolutely," you respond, shocked at how nice he had asked the question. As you sketch on the whiteboard provided you give the class instructions accordingly. "You'll want to have your model in the front here. They can look however you want them to. You will want your shirt and or jackets and accessories over here to the right and your pants and shoes over here on the left, but get creative and be very detailed as you design and sketch." Everyone nods as they begin. So far everything was going alright, even though you still felt like teaching an art class was way out of your comfort zone.
