Levi's POV

Waking up a few hours later, I left Hanji in bed and got dressed. I went through her bags and retrieved the files she had. I didn't want to, but if I want to protect her, I had to do this. I need to end this before anything else happens that would get out of hand. As I'm going through the files, I took some notes. 

"Is that..." I looked up to see Hanji covering herself as she stared at me. "Is that why you did that? To get files from me?"

"You don't understand-."

"I don't. I honestly don't." She says with tears brimming, "How could you? Levi, you're off the case."

"This is for your protection-."

"My protection? Levi, you're full of secrets that I cannot comprehend. I want you to trust me. I want to help. But what you're doing is wrong. If I had more power, I would have transferred you back to your old office."

I get to my feet, and walking towards her. "If you know anything more, it puts you in danger. Don't you get it?!"

She shook her head, "No. I can't understand if I'm not given the entire truth." She walks back into the bedroom, "I'm leaving. I need all those files returned to me."

"Hanji, you don't understand-."

"Stop saying that to me!" She raises her voice, "I have given you chances to explain, yet you don't take them. You're off the case. That's it. You used me for information. That, I cannot forgive." I'm sorry, but you have to understand... this is for your protection. I can't explain it any more than that.

I wanted to apologize to her so many times... I'm sorry I used her to get information, but if she dives deeper into this case, she'll be pulled in by the waves. Before she knows it, it's too late to get out of the spider's web. Hanji, trust me.

When I got to the workplace, I didn't see Hanji there, but I knew she was there. It was just that gut feeling. As I was logging on to cross-check the notes I collected, I saw that my things were disabled. 

"What the hell...?"

Moblit walks over, pointing to my computer. "Problems?"

"I can't access the case."

"Oh... right. Hanji took you off the case." She was serious about it? "What the hell happened?"

"She had evidence and I needed to see them. So... I made her exhausted enough where I can examine it in peace."

"What do you mean that you made her exhausted enough?"

"I slept with her."

His eyes widened with his mouth agape. "You... you did what?"

"That doesn't matter-."

"That doesn't matter?" He repeats after me. "Levi, that matters a lot. You used her. Hanji isn't the same person she was when she was younger. I know her better, and that is something you cannot do. Not to her. She's sensitive, remember? You broke her trust."

"If you could do anything to protect someone you love, would you do it?"

"Of course! That's a no-brainer question!"

"I'm doing this to protect Hanji."

"Protect her from what?"

"From this case. If she dives too deep, she's lost. I can't let her go too far. She can't do anything dangerous. She needs to stay here and stay out of the way while I work the case. I'm worried for her more than anything."

Moblit looks towards something before sighing. "You're kidding..."

"What?"

"Hanji's not in her office."

"Where is she?"

"She's probably found something and doing some investigation by herself."

"Where?"

Moblit raised his shoulders, "I-I don't know. I'm not working the case, Levi-." 

I think I know where she is. 

I got out of my chair and grabbed my keys. "Help me narrow her down by finding bars within 10 miles of this place. Trust me, she's in danger the more time we waste. Help me save her."
