NOT PROOFREAD 

Avni was indeed a racer. He could see that now. He hadn't been any more proud of her. She's the best thing that had happened to him.

She rode the bike clumsily at first but managed to give a smooth finish as they were about to reach their first destination.

He had been giving her instructions from behind. She gave a look to him at first but let it slide as she promised, she would accept whatever he had stored for them today.

So she's sticking on her promise, right now.

Sighing, she let Neil get down from his baby. It felt weird calling his bike baby! She knew, all the guys do that. But.

Sliding her thoughts off, avni got down, only to see neil giving her a proud look.

Avni just raised her eyebrows, asking him, what is the matter.

He just shook his head " You didn't lie about the race thing " he said nervously.

She just laughed at his nervousness, " I used to race- past tense. But, I need to brush it up. I became such a bad rider."

" Nope. I think, you make a great driver! " he said so softly looking deep into her eyes.

Her eyes were stuck. She couldn't help it but savor his hazel eyes, filled with infinite emotions. Drowning in his eyes, the whole world faded away.

Needless to say, she let that Lil comment neil uttered, of avni being a driver also slide.

" What? " avni screeched. Calming her senses. " I am not a driver. I am a rider, you cula! " she dodged his side and made her way to their foremost destination.

She walked till the door, urging herself to keep an angry face for that stupid comment of her neil.

Her neil, she thought.

For a second, she looked back at him, only to see him scratching the back of his head and grinning awkwardly.

How cute, she thought.

How could she even be angry at that cute soul?

" Are you coming or not, princess? " Avni screamed, getting his attention.

His grin widened, and he raced to her.

It was all like a dream to him. His Avni was walking beside him. Making the snide comments and teasing him.

Oh, he was loving it.

He was urged to hold her hand. But threw away that thought, when he found her looking at him amusedly. And, then he was shocked to see her coming closer to him, making him lose his sanity.

But, he knew she would cut his hands if he did.

So he kept his hands at his back and intertwined him to stop the urge. But, surprisingly, he was not backing off. He was still in his place, waiting for her next move.

She came closer then he would ever imagine, her breath fanning over his face. Intoxicating. She whispered, " Don't even think about it! " and ran from there.

But, she didn't realize she would get a million-dollar shock. She stood there, ogling at the board of the first destination he had planned.

She knew, Neil was right behind her and was eager to see her reaction.

" What are we doing here? " asked Avni, not glancing back at him.

Sighing, he went past her and opened the gate " Well, This is the first destination " she said in an unmistakable tone.

" No! Not that. I mean, what are we doing in an animal shelter? " she asked, scrunching her eyebrows.

Neil thought she looked cute while she does that.

He thought for some time " Umm, why don't you see it for yourself? "

She wanted to smack his head. But then, before she could do that, they saw an older man, wearing a security guards clothes approaching them.

" Babaa! Good morning. How are you? " the man greeted neil and saluted him.

" Kaka! I am fine. How have you been? Also kaki and Abram? " he asked as if he was familiar with them for years " And, how many times should I tell you not to salute me. " he pouted.

And now, it was Avni's turn to be shocked.

That was the first time she saw this side of him. And she was looking forward to seeing it more.

And, she was sure, she would envision more over here than anywhere else.

Sensing her stare, he looked back at her only to see her smile at him.

Grabbing her by her wrist " Kaka, this is avni. And avni, this is my kaka! " he introduced proudly.

" Hi, beta. " greeted kaka softly.

But, Avni couldn't respond. His hand on her skin was doing miracles to her. She never knew until now; she had craved for his touch. It was burning. It gave a new sense of comfort.

Meanwhile, neil looked at her, waiting for her to respond. But kaka sent them inside sliding it.

But, neil was confused. " Avni, why didn't you reply kaka? " neil asked coming straight to the point.

Avni looked at him as if he was an idiot. Indeed, he was.

She looked at him and then at his hand on her wrist. Sensing something wrong, he looked where she was looking.

Shit. He thought!

" Avni, please don't cut my hand " he pleaded and shook her hand immediately.

This time avni was confused. Her hand felt bare. Lack of warmth, she enjoyed.

Sure, avni has a bad girl's reputation. But she never harms people who meant a lot. And this guy was far more than a friend.

She understood it till now. But his innocence and childishness was something she adored.

Not wanting to hear Avni's response, he leads the way of asking her to follow inside.

There, he spoke to someone called the manager and got the keys for Dog's cabin.

Avni, She loves dogs. At the same time, she was hella scared of them. Weird, right!

He successfully got the keys and approached avni.

" Avni c' mon," he said to her. But looking at the uncertainty of her face, he got worried.

He immediately sat beside her " Is everything okay? " he asked her.

She nodded in a yes. But, he didn't have to ask her. Her eyes were enough to tell him the truth he needed to hear.

" Avni. What is it? " he asked seriously.

Sighing " Promise, you won't laugh? " she asked him cutely.

All he wanted to do was pinch her pale cheeks. She was so cute. Damn. His sanity.

" I promise," he whispered.

Listening to the intensity filled voice, snapped something in her.

" I, I am afraid of Canis lupus familiaris "

" what? "

" Dogs. Dogs! "

" Ooh! Let me tell you. I don't know stuff like you do, kay? So please talk in human language. Have Mercy on me," neil pleaded. " And, there's nothing to be afraid of them. They are trained and well, cute just like you. Now, c' mon I didn't know, I would see a day, where the great avni will be afraid of something! " he said in a single breath making avni jaw dropped

Sighing, he held her hands in his " Nothing's gonna happen, avni. I am here with you as your knight in shining armor! " he winked at her and led the way.

Shaking her head because of his antics, she followed him inside.

He opened the cabin and rushed inside. But, Avni stood there near the door waiting if something happens, she could run away.

That's when she saw neil getting tackled down by a golden retriever, a pomeranian and a husky.

Yes. She knew the breeds. Because, she loves dogs, duh! 

That's when she heard a squealing. He was laughing so loudly. It was like, soothing her senses. She never thought she would feel this way.

She saw his petting every other dog and taking the little puppy in his arms. And grinning at them, when they licked him. She was flabbergasted to see this side of him.

So pure and innocent.

He was being hard not to love.

She mentally chuckled for waiting these many days to make a move and wasting them.

He was admiring him from afar and relishing the moment when she heard " He is always like this when he comes here " a familiar voice said from behind startling Avni.

" I am sorry, I didn't mean to startle you! " said the same man - kaka.

Avni gave a smile " No, it's nothing kaka! " reassured avni. " He comes daily, to see them? " avni asked pointing to the dogs now were on him.

" Oh, yes! Baba always comes here. He doesn't need permission too. " kaka explained.

" He doesn't need permission? What do you mean kaka? "

" Oh, didn't he tell you? This animal shelter is made by him. He used to gather all the animals who are thrown away, injured or if any family finds it hard to take care of it. That way, no animal will be out in the road starving or worse, dead. " kaka said proudly.

" Wow! It's all his? This is so huge, kaka! " exclaimed avni.

" Yes, beta. He's a gem. He can't see anyone in pain. He had been an animal lover from childhood and wanted to do something for them. See now, he's providing them the best. I am proud of what he had become " beamed kaka.

That's when she heard that voice " Avni, come. I'll make you meet my other baby! " Neil said now standing up and dusting his clothes.

" That was his pet when he was eight years old! " kaka explained.

Avni looked at kaka, only to see him watching w with a proud look.

" He is so precious to us, Avni beta. Please take care of her. He adores you! " kaka said making her cheeks tint red.

" I see the way he looks at you. He's absolutely head over heels over you. Please don't hurt him. He doesn't deserve to get hurt " kaka said and left her alone with the migraine of thoughts.

Just then she felt a hand tugging her wrist and again that sensation was too much to handle for her.

He grabbed her again and took her near little puppies.

What's with him and grabbing her today!

" Avni!! See that's Deny. He is my personal favorite. No partiality, though! And, that's Bruno, Rudo, and Roxie. They are so cute na. Come, touch them. They'll feel good, to have another visitor than a boring me " he pouted.

This time Avni held his shoulders " You are anything but boring... Princess " she said with a lot of emotion in her voice and head over to the puppies.

Neil just chuckled for the improvement. Her sassiness was killing him.

He didn't know whether to laugh or cry. But, for her, anything would suffice.

He saw her playing with the puppies not caring about the surroundings.

Picking up the deny, she held her to her chest whilst it licks all of her face with his little tongue.

Damn, deny was so adorable.

Chuckling he approached them and took deny from her, placed him near his gang and took her to clean herself.

Later, they put the food-Drools and a bit of chicken in the bowls and have them eat peacefully. In between that, their hands often touch and avni would go crimson red making neil to chuckle.

He wanted to kiss her. And now, there's no backing out.

Avni and neil had gone to clean the mess and throw the wrappers of drools in the trash.

Avni was the first one going, followed by neil. She dropped her pack in the trash and about to go when she again felt a tug of a warm hand on her wrist.

What, again? She thought to herself.

She was pulled back, making her hit Neil's chest. Her head was on his heart. And, damn it was racing. She was glad that the proximity effects neil as it affects her.

Pulling back, she looked up to see neil smiling at her.

He was smiling a lot, lately, she thought!

Her thoughts were stopped when she heard him whisper " Because of you "

Did I say it aloud? She thought again.

" Yes, you did " neil chuckled. His chest causing vibration, indirectly making her go weak in the knees.

Avni blushed. She seems to be doing that a lot too.

" Avni, you know, " neil said and placed his right hand on her cheek " You look so cute when you blush.

"I svere, you look like a goddess," he said pecked her forehead slightly and left before avni made any comments.

Avni was feeling a new emotion, run through her veins. It was a good feeling. Indeed, he's a gem. He is precious for this world. She thought.

Neil and avni said their goodbyes to everyone present and met their deny for last time and was about to leave. When neil felt a small hand slipped into his.

He looked adjacent to him and saw his Avni grinning widely at him. He looked down at their intertwined hands and was ecstatic.

He never thought avni would make a move, now. It was surprising, though. But, it was all worth it, he thought and tightened the hold.

" Do not crush my hand, Mr. Khanna. Don't worry. It's all yours " said avni making neil flabbergasted as they headed to the next destination.
