2nd Person P.O.V
You slowly sit up, careful not to cause any pain to your still aching body. That fall has left your frail figure in bruises and scratches, accompanied by a broken foot and dislocated shoulder. You try to get up, but quickly fall back onto your knees after experiencing the horrible pain shoot from your foot and shoulder all throughout your body. You look around and examine the place you were in. It looked like a ruin of some sort, with its overgrown and old-looking pillars towering over where you were situated. You can faintly remember this place, but push away the thoughts when you hear shuffling in front of you. Looking ahead, you spot a cat-like creature with black hair, dog ears, white fur and a striped blue and yellow jumper staring at you.

"Hoi! I'm Temmie! Temmie the Tem!" The creature- or Tem - squeaks, making you slowly sit up. It looks at you, its thin eyes studying your features and your figure.

"You must be new to the Underground, aren't you?" Temmie asks. You slowly nod at the cute cat-like creature, unsure of what to say. "Not much of a talker, are ya?" Temmie laughs. You were slightly offended but decided to push that aside and nod again.

"I'm only going to assume you need someone to show you the ropes around here. I guess little ol' me will have to do!" Temmie giggles. "Well! Here we go!" They squeak.

The world around you goes black, and a [F/C] heart appears in front of you. You stick your hand out to touch it, but your hand fazes right through it, sending shocks of electricity coursing throughout your body. You quickly retract your hand. Your gaze switches back to the Tem in front of you, who was impatiently waiting for you to stop your tomfoolery.

"Anyway," Temmie begins. "See that [F/C] heart? That is your SOUL, the very culmination of your being!" You stare at your SOUL in awe, wondering how a small heart like that could be so important.

"Your SOUL starts off weak, but can grow stronger by gaining a lot of 'LV'"

You detect a hint of malice when Temmie says LV. They see the unasked question in your eyes. "What does 'LV' stand for? LOVE of course!"

Temmie squeaks. "You want some LOVE, don't ya? Don't worry; I'll share some with ya." Temmie winks at you, sending a bit of heat to course through your cheeks.

"Down here in the Underground, LOVE is shared through little pale 'Temmie Flakes'." Temmie summons a few small, bullet-like pellets, which seem to flicker in their place. "Go ahead! Catch as many as you can!"

You fail to detect the sneer behind Temmie's smile.

The pellets began heading right towards you. You reach your hand out to grab one, to which your soul reacts to by floating over in front of your outstretched hand. You manage to catch a flake.

Big mistake.

The bullet-like flake left an agonizingly large and painful burn smack dab in the middle of your SOUL, making you silently scream and jolt back, trying to suppress the pain as much as possible, but to no avail. You pull your hand back to your chest, the small heart following, but are still visible right in front of you. Temmie's face contorts into one of insanity, staring right at you with a smirk that sent shivers up your spine.

"You IDIOT!" Temmie spits at you. It laughs maniacally, "In this world, it's KILL or BE killed!"  Your SOUL is forcibly moved forward, Temmie flakes surrounding it. You stare in horror as the pellets soon begin to close around the weak heart.

"DIE!!!" Temmie screams before letting out a demonic laugh. You try to save your soul, but find yourself stuck in your place. You close your eyes, awaiting your demise. There was no escape.

But nothing came.

You slowly open your eyes to find your soul was perfectly healed. Albeit the fact that a large scarring burn mark was left in the center of your soul, you stay DETERMINED. You sigh in relief and avert your gaze to Temmie, who stood there in shock that the flakes did not kill you, but rather heal you.

A large fireball soon came into view, shooting right at Temmie before sending the cat-like creature flying away from you. A tall figure soon came into view. You observed the person- or rather monster - that saved you.

Tall, possibly 7 foot or taller, long furry ears, a yellow beard, along with calming ocean blue eyes with a hint of gold at the base of the pupil, large sharp horns and a robe, which bared a symbol of some sort of Rune in the middle. By the looks of it, you could tell he was a goat.

"What a terrible creature, torturing such a poor innocent youth. Hello my child..." The goat like creature spoke. His voice was deep, yet calm and soothing, making you relax ever so slightly. He reached his hand out to you, to which you reacted by scooting back, afraid that he might hurt you just like Temmie did. He seemed a little surprised at your reaction, but quickly regains his composure.

"Do not worry, dear child, I have no intention to harm you. I am here to help." He says, assuring you. You slowly try to stand again. You succeed for about 2 seconds until you begin swaying back and forth and fall.

You await the impact, but instead all you feel are two large, yet soft, arms wrapping around you. You look up to find the creature holding you, careful not to hurt you.

"It appears you are hurt, dear child. Allow me to help." He raises his hand and you close your eyes.

You feel a jolt of energy, making you feel a lot better than you did when you first fell. You try to stand up on your foot again.

He has healed you.

You stare in awe at the creature as he gives you a heartwarming smile. You smile back, thinking that you can trust this monster.

"Oh my! How rude of me! I forgot to introduce myself! I am Asgore, caretaker and guardian of the Ruins. What is your name, dear child?" Asgore asks you.

"[Y/N]." You spell out your name for him. He looked astonished for a moment before returning back to his calm nature.

"Sorry, but if I may ask, dear child, can you not... speak?" Asgore asks with a hint of hesitation in his tone. You shake your head and give him an assuring smile, confirming that you were, in fact, mute. He looks upset for a minute before taking your hand, ever so gently, and guiding you through the ruins, a gentle smile on his face.

~TEM SKIP HUEHUE-~

You and Asgore finally arrive at a lovely looking house, which you assumed was his home. Asgore lets go of your hand, to which you internally pout considering his hand was so soft, and opens the door, ushering you inside. You stare in awe at how neat the house is, considering it was Underground.

Seeing a nice, cute and tidy house here in the underground fills you with DETERMINATION.

Looking around, you find a staircase right in front of you that leads down. Down where exactly? You don't know. You avert your gaze to the right, seeing a hallway with several doors, which you assumed were rooms, and at the end of the hallway on the left, hung a mirror.

You switch your sight to the left of the house, seeing a small hallway leading into a living room along with a dinner table. Looking further, you see a small entrance to which you could only guess was the kitchen.

Taking a few steps in, you come to a complete halt when you feel a fluffy hand take yours. You look up to find Asgore smiling down at you, to which you respond by smiling back. He gently pulls you along with him, guiding you to the right, which was the corridor of rooms. He leads you to the first door, before stopping completely.

"I really wish for you to stay here, dear child, which is why..." He opens the door, ushering you inside. "I want you to have this room. It... It belonged to my adoptive daughter... You... You remind me so much of her..." He sounded depressed, yet still keeping his smile, almost as if he was reminiscing memories. You glance at him, noticing that he was on the verge of tears. As if on instinct, you stand on your toes and wrap your arms around his neck, trying to comfort him in any way. He tenses up for a bit before leaning down and hugging you back. You felt your shoulder become damp, and you only assumed he was crying silently. You slowly pull away, looking at him sadly. He wipes his tears away, laughing slightly.

"Hahaha... I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me..." He says.

"Hey... It's alright... Please don't cry..." You sign to him again. You felt bad for him. Losing his daughter must have been hard for him. "I...I'm sorry for your loss..."

"No, it is quite alright. Oh dear! I ruined your shirt. You can go inside and change into one of the sweaters. I'm sure they will fit you. I will be in the kitchen if you need me." He turns around and walks away from the corridor and all the way to the kitchen.

You turn to inspect your new room. The walls were striped with bright green and golden yellow stripes. On the far right was a bed, with a wardrobe right next to it, and a drawer adjacent to that. You slowly approach the wardrobe and open it, revealing a few stripped sweaters all of which were bright green with several golden yellow stripes going across.

All except one.

You picked out that sweater, which was also bright green, but instead had one bright golden-yellow stripe running across the center. You quickly change out of your [F/C] shirt and into the new sweater.

You looked adorable.

You made your way over to the drawer and spotted a lone frame standing atop the surface of the drawer. Inspecting the frame further, you spotted several figures standing in it.

It was a family picture.

You keenly inspect the portrait, mentally noting down each detail you find.

On the right of the picture, you immediately recognize Asgore, a happy and content expression on his face. Next to him is a goat woman, wearing a long, flowing purple cape and knight's armor, along with a sparkling golden crown atop her head. You only assumed she was Asgore's wife. In front of the loving couple however, was a girl.  A human girl. She held a bouquet of golden flowers, ones much similar to the ones that broke your fall, which was covering her face, but what intrigued you the most was her clothing. She was wearing brown shorts, accompanied by the same colored boots, a bouquet of golden flowers, much like the ones you fell on, in her small hands.

And a bright green sweater which displayed a single golden yellow line running across the center.

You gently put the picture back in its place and stare at the sweater you were wearing right now.

That sweater belonged to Asgore's deceased adoptive daughter.

You felt quite upset at your new discovery, but decided to keep the sweater on nonetheless.

A sweet aroma flooded your room, making you take a whiff of the scent and sigh happily. You skip to the door, opening the door and welcoming the absolutely delicious smell right into your nose. You giggle internally, a huge smile spread across your face. You make your way to the kitchen and spot Asgore cooking something; it looked like pancakes!

You lightly tap Asgore's back. He turns and gives you a bright smile, not noticing your sweater until his eyes grew wide. He had tears in his eyes, slowly wiping them away and giving you a tight hug, to which you reply by embracing him just as tight.

"You remind me so much of her... of Chara."

And if that name didn't strike you like a truck then you don't know what did.

Your hands fly from Asgore's embrace to your head, grasping your [H/L] [H/C] hair in pure agony. Asgore stands there in shock, trying to process what was happening in front of him.

You were on your knees, hands clutching your hair and your face was displaying fear and pain.

And if that hadn't fazed him yet, the slow trickle of blood seeping from your scalp definitely did.

Asgore's movements were quick, grabbing the nearest rag he could find, dampening it, and quickly prying your iron grip off of your head. The rag was on your small wounds in heartbeats.

His face displayed absolute fear and worry, his grip on your shoulders tight as he shook you, shouting your name countless times, trying to help you from your current state.

"[Y/N]! SNAP OUT OF IT, CHILD! PLEASE!" He yelled once more before you went stiff in his grip, Your [E/C] eyes full of confusion and fear. You look up to Asgore, seeing his face covered in absolute worry. You felt guilt surging through your veins.

"Dad... What... What happened...?" You sign to him, feeling slightly confused.

What had happened to you?

Asgore's arms were around you once more, holding you tightly and sobbing softly onto your shoulder. You quickly wrap your arms around him, holding him just as tight.

"Th-Thank goodness you're a-a-alright..." You hear Asgore sniff. "I cannot loose another one..."

That made you go stiff in Asgore's embrace. It took a while to process the words that escaped his mouth.

He didn't want to loose another child.

You quickly try to cheer him up by pushing him away slightly, making him look deep into your eyes.

"You don't have to worry, dad... I'm not going anywhere."

Asgore's smile was immediately returned to his face, his expression looking more ecstatic than ever.

"You have no idea how happy I feel, dear child. Now, how about some pancakes?
