What if Chip and the other cups realize that the later Belle wants tea, the later they get to stay up, so they negotiate with Belle, who's obviously too sweet to turn the adorable little guys down. So then whenever Belle can't sleep, and she's feeling lonely or sad, she calls Mrs. Potts and asks for a cup of tea, which of course, Mrs. Potts is all too eager and willing to bring for the poor dear. And the cups all take turns and all of them are so cheerful and happy and funny that by the time she's finished her tea, Belle's found that they've cheered her right up, so she kisses them and thanks them and tells them what darlings they are, and they go off all pleased with themselves because each and everyone of them fully believes that Belle is a beautiful princess and to receive such praise from her is the greatest honor a teacup could get.
