The Pawn Shop

The next morning, Emma was the first one awake. She went to do her usual morning routine to get ready for the day. She smiled at Henry, who was still sleeping, drooling a bit on the pillow. Emma giggled and gently shook him. "Come on, buddy. Time to wake up." Henry groaned and pulled the covers up over his face. Emma giggled again. "I guess I'm eating the pancakes then." she said teasingly. Henry quickly got out of bed when he heard that. Emma grinned at him. Henry got up and stretched. "Where's Gigi?" he asked. "In the other room." she replied. Henry nodded and went to change. Emma went to wait in the hall for her Ren and Henry. A few minutes later, Ren came out into the hall.

Emma smiled at him. "Sleep well?" Error asked her. She shrugged. "Bed wasn't the best, wasn't the worst either, but still." she hummed, stretching. "Well the beds do look the age of the place." Error deadpanned. Emma laughed softly. "Yeah, they do." Error nodded and looked around the hall. Henry came out of the room, putting on his jacket. "Ready? Emma asked. "Yep!" Henry said cheerfully. "Alright let's get some food in our stomachs. Including you Ren." Emma said sternly.

"Joy." Error muttered. Error over the years has slowly been able to eat. He still doesn't need to eat, but when raising a baby, it was best to learn some cooking skills. But whenever they would go out to eat he didn't buy anything to eat or if he did, just little things. Unless it was chocolate. Plus, his daughter can be stubborn when she 'makes' him eat. Henry frowned at him, crossing his arms stubbornly. "I won't eat until you eat, Gigi." he said, even as his stomach growled. "I swear you're worse than your mother." Error glanced and was given the look from Emma. Emma just smirked at him.

"Don't you give me that look! You taught him on purpose." Error accused. Emma shrugged. "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't." Error grumble but tried to not smile. Emma grinned, taking him and Henry by the hand and leading them downstairs to the restaurant. Once they came down, it was rather obvious that there wasn't a lot of people. They found a booth quickly, and the young waitress came over. "Good morning."'The brunette said, pulling out a small notepad, green eyes looking at the pair with curiosity. "What would you all like to start with this morning?" "Some coffee for me. Henry?" Emma asked, looking at him. "Orange juice, please!" the boy said brightly.

"Alright and you?"she asked Error. "Hot Chocolate." he replied. "That's not fair." Henry pouted. Emma laughed at Henry's pout. "Do you want to change your order, kiddo?" "Yes!" he exclaimed. Emma snickered, looking at the waitress. "Get him a hot chocolate instead." she told the waitress. "You got it. I'll let y'all keep looking." She turned around and walked off. "Definitely not used to new people." Error whispered. Emma nodded, humming as she looked through the menu. Henry was looking at the menu. "Mom, do you think fairy tales are real?" he asked suddenly. Emma hummed. "Maybe... remember where Gigi is from?" she said, grinning at Error. Error was looking out the window and glance at her, smiling a bit.

"Yes, I remember." Henry said. Emma grinned wider and ruffled Henry's hair. "Well, wouldn't you say that sounds like a fairy tale?" she asked him. "✌︎ ☞︎✌︎✋︎☼︎✡︎ ❄︎✌︎☹︎☜︎ ☞︎☼︎⚐︎💣︎ ☟︎☜︎☹︎☹︎." Error muttered in Wing Dings. He winced when Emma kicked him lightly under the table. "☼︎☜︎✌︎☹︎☹︎✡︎ ☼︎☜︎☠︎?" Emma asked in the same language. "☺︎🕆︎💧︎❄︎ ❄︎☜︎☹︎☹︎✋︎☠︎☝︎ ❄︎☟︎☜︎ ❄︎☼︎🕆︎❄︎☟︎." Error replied, glancing at Henry as he looked between the two adults, trying to figure out what they were saying. "In a way it could be considered a fairy tale. Just a different kind with different rules." he explained. Henry nodded, looking thoughtful. "Do you miss it?" he asked Error.

Error blinked, thinking. "I miss.... some parts of it." he said slowly. "Here you go." The waitress said, returning with the drinks. They noticed her name tag said Ruby. "Are you ready to order?" she asked with a smile. Emma nodded. "Yeah. Um, could I have some pancakes?" "Me too!" Henry piped up. Emma and Henry both turned to Error, waiting. Error gave them a look, silently asking, 'Do I have too?'  Henry narrowed his eyes. Error let out a sigh. "Just some toast." he told Ruby. "Buttered toast?" she asked. "Yeah, sure." he replied uncaringly. "Alrighty!" She chirped, walking off.

Both Emma and Henry sighed. Error was drinking his hot chocolate happily. Their food arrived fairly quickly, and they ate their fill. When they finished, Emma paid, tipping Ruby. "Thank you, and I hope you have a good time here!" Ruby said. Emma smiled warmly at her. "Thanks for the food." Henry and Error nodded in agreement. They left the diner, Henry humming cheerfully. "Can we go see Dawn?" he asked hopefully. Emma frowned. "I think she's in school right now, buddy." she told him apologetically. Henry frowned a little, but shrugged it off. "Let's just walk around town for now." Error said. Emma nodded. looking around. They explored a bit, Emma noticing the library being closed. Henry looked up at her. "What's wrong, Mom?" he asked. She hummed. "Nothing, kiddo." she said with a grin. Henry nodded and looked around, seeing a shop. "Can we go there?" he asked, pointing it out to the two adults.

Emma looked at the pawn shop. "I don't see why not." Error  nodded. "We could probably find something neat." he remarked. Henry cheered. They walked over, Henry going inside the store first. Error was about to enter but stopped, frowning a little. Emma stopped next to him. "Ren?" she asked softly. "There's a lot of magic here, too." he muttered. Emma looked at the shop. She could see it swirling around. She frowned. "Think it's dangerous?" she asked him. "It's only dangerous depending on how it's used. Plus, the Little Moth is already in there so we do need to get him." Error replied. Emma turned around and saw Henry in the shop already. She groaned quietly, walking in. "Henry, you're supposed to wait." she scolded him.

"But look at this place mom!" Henry exclaimed. Emma frowned and crossed her arms, looking at her son sternly. Henry looked down at the floor, shame-faced. "Sorry mom." She sighed, looking around. "It is pretty cool, I'll say that much." Henry looked up and grinned. She laughed softly, patting his head.  "Enjoying the shop I see." They turn and see an older gentleman coming out from behind the curtains. At first glance he looked like he was going to an important business meeting, wearing a nice suit. His brown hair was chin length, with traces of gray hair. He had brown eyes, and was watching them closely. Emma smiled. "Yeah, we like checking out shops like this... there's always the chance of finding something great." she said. "Indeed there is. Maybe it'll find you first." He watched them and chuckled. "I have to say it's been awhile since we've seen new people here." he said.

Emma shrugged. "Sounds boring." she said to him, Henry looking around the shop again. Error was slowly walking around the store. Henry was looking at a sword that was hanging on the wall. "Where did you three travel from, if I may ask?" the man asked them, leaning on his cane. "Boston." Emma replied, looking at a small windmill. "My what a journey." the man hummed. "Not a very fun drive - over seven hours." Emma said absently, now looking over some jewelry. "Oh, I bet it wasn't." he said, watching her. Emma continued to look around.

Error was looking at a wall that had a few items on display. He could feel the magic in some of the items. But they all felt different too, like different types of magic used. He noticed a pair of wooden puppets and stopped, tilting his head. There was a lot of magic coming off of them. There was the feeling of sorrow, yet also forgiveness coming from them. "A puppet enthusiast, then?" the man asked. Error looked at him. "One way of putting it." Error said, looking back at the puppets. A male and a female...

Henry was looking at the sword still. "Hey Mom, Gigi, have you guys ever used a sword before?" he asked. Emma shook her head. "No, sorry kiddo." Error's mind wandered to his bone attacks and the rare occasions of him wielding them like swords. "Gigi?" Henry asked curiously. "Something like that." Error finally replied. Henry grinned, looking back at the sword. He had no clue who the original owner of the sword was...

"I would like to buy these." Error said, looking at the man. "Mom, can we?" Henry asked, pointing to the sword. Emma looked at it, frowning. "Please?" Henry begged, his eyes wide. Emma sighed, looking it over. "Let's wait a few days before deciding, kiddo." she finally said. Henry pouted, but nodded. "Okay, Mom." Emma mussed his hair with a smile, going back to browsing. Error was with the gentleman, haggling over the price of the puppets. "Interesting scars." he remarked, looking at the tear streaks. "Interesting cane." Error deadpanned.

The man blinked and chuckled. "I'm sorry, I'm usually not that blunt." "I am." Error shrugged. Emma snorted softly. "You're blunt too, Little Bug." Error said without even looking at her. He looked over the paperwork handed to him and noticed the name the man had signed. "Mr. Gold?" he said, looking up at him. The man nodded. "Yes, that's my name." Error nodded and looked over the paper work. He got to work on filling it out, signing his name at the bottom. Mr. Gold looked at the name, raising a brow. Guritchi Dreemur

"Hmm, interesting name." Mr. Gold said to him. Emma came over, looking at the puppets curiously. She could also feel the magic coming off of them. "Like them?" Error asked her, ignoring Gold's comment about his name. She hummed. "They look interesting." she said quietly. Henry came over, checking out the puppets as well. He could sense the magic a little, but he wasn't as good at it as his mother or Gigi yet. Mr. Gold finished the paperwork and smiled at Error. "Congratulations, you are now the proud owner of these puppets." he said with a grin.

"Not an owner." Error said, picking them up and walked out the door, with Henry following. "Interesting choice of words." Mr. Gold hummed, looking at Guritchi walking away with curiosity. He looked at Emma, who hadn't left yet. Emma just smiled at him and left, following Error and Henry. Curious people indeed. Hmm.... he had a feeling he should talk to Regina soon.
