Chapter One

7 years later...

Harper has just turned 15 and Austin was 9. Everything was going great... with the kids, I mean. Harper grew up to be an amazing young woman and Austin was an amazing kid. Me and Peter however... not so great. We have been fighting non-stop for weeks and it's not getting any better. Everything was changing so fast and I was scared.

"Peter can we please just stop fighting for two seconds? The kids are sleeping." I said as I looked Peter in the eye.

"No. You wanted to talk about this so let's talk about it!" He replied.

"Can't this wait until tomorrow... when the kids are at school. They shouldn't be hearing us having a screaming match every night."

"You have something you want to talk about. Why push it away now?"

"I'm pushing it away because the kids are sleeping and they don't need to hear us yell at each other all night!" I snapped. I couldn't take this anymore.

I started packing a bag. I needed to be out of the house.

"Where are you going?" Peter asked.

"I'm going to Natasha and Steve's apartment."

I finished packing my bag and I walked out of our room. Harper was standing there, her eyes filling with tears.

"Y-you're leaving?" She asked quietly.

"Just for a few days. I'll be home soon. Go back to bed."

I walked away and left our house. I got into my car and drove to Natasha and Steve's apartment. Once I got there I grabbed my bag out of the car and went up to their floor then knocked on the door.

A few minutes later the door opened and Nat was standing there. She saw my bag and a worried expression washed over her face.

"I need a place to stay..." I said nervously.

"Yeah of course. Come in." She replied. We walked over to the living room and sat on the couch.

"What happened?" She asked.

Peter's POV

Harper walked into mine and Y/n's room.

"How could you be so stupid dad?" She asked.

"Excuse me?" I replied shocked.

"You just let mom leave without even trying to stop her! Can't you see that she's hurting? Everyday while you're at work or out patrolling, she's in your guy's room crying. She thinks me and Austin don't notice but we do. All of the fighting is killing her dad. She just wants things to be the way the used to be..."

I looked at the floor then back up to my daughter.

"Look, this is an adult problem that we have to fix on our own."

"Then figure out how to fix it because your children need both of their parents. Not one some days and the other the next few days. We need both parents at the same time and honestly the way things are going right now. That's not going to last much longer unless you man up and apologize for whatever the hell you did."

After she said that she went back to her room. I sat on the bed and thought about what she said.

Your POV

I told Nat everything that happened. I told her about how I saw Peter at a Cafe with another woman. I told her about how we've been fighting for a few weeks. I told her everything.

"Well you can stay here as long as you need to." She smiled.

"Thanks Nat."

"Anytime. The guest room is ready for you."

I hugged her then went to the guest room and I slowly fell asleep.
