Chapter Seventeen: Resurfaced Love

Sasuke's POV

"Dammit."

I couldn't help but curse when the door failed to click open. I sighed and kicked the metal door.

Wrong move.

"Ow! Shit! Shit!!!"

I jumped back on bed with my foot sore from the injury. Frustratedly, I groaned. Stop being so stupid, Uchiha! scolded my innerself.

Tsk. I just can't believe this! Sakura wants me executed! Just when I thought I can finally save her. Just when I thought she'd listen to me.. but I guess expectations really do suck at times like these. It's my fault. She's acting like this because I made the Fire Country a priority the moment she's been kidnapped.

If only I could turn back time..

.. would things be a little more different?

I shook my head and got up. There's no use... she hates me. And even if I  don't want to leave her in a place like this, I have no choice. I can't let myself be executed.. Daisy.. she needs a father.. and the fact that her mother forgot about her made our situation worst. Heck, I don't want her to live the life of an orphan! She's too young to feel the emptiness I felt when both my parents died; and Konoha will perish once they found out their ruler has been killed by the hands of the Akatsuki.

If I don't find a way out of here sooner or later, who knows how this story will end.

I already lost my queen.. my happy ending.

"Damn, door! Why won't you just open up?!"

I know I look like a retard, but suddenly..

Creek..

WTF?!

The freakin' door creeped open! Magic?! I immediately back away and watched as someone emerged from it. He wore a hood, covering half of the stranger's face so I couldn't have a glimpse of who this guy is.

Why is he even wearing a hood?

The moment he locked the door, I frowned and went into a fighting position.

"Who are you?" I coldly asked but the intruder stepped closer, making me a bit uncomfortable.

"Sasuke...kun.."

I froze.

Am I just imagining things? Or did I really hear Sakura's voice?

But by the time the stranger took off his hood, my eyes confirmed it. I felt my heart skipped a beat when I saw the pink-haired beauty staring back at me with her marvelous jade green eyes.

"W-What are you doing here?"

She smiled, sadly and gently held her head and closed her eyes as she spoke,

"I...I'm sorry."

My eyes widened. Did I hear that correctly or am I just hallucinating again?

"W-What?"

She sighed and opened her eyes and stepped closer until our bodies were just a few inches away from each other. And I'd be a fat liar if I told you I didn't miss this proximity of ours.

"I'm sorry I did that, Sasuke-kun... I-I remember everything now.." Her tears caught me off guard, but she continued nonetheless, "I-I was just so frustrated then.. I thought you never cared about me.. I thought you only care about being the substitute Hokage and all.. I'm sorry I lost faith in you before.."

My arms moved on their own. I hugged her...a small smile creeping it's way to my lips. Am I dreaming? This all seems surreal.

"Sakura, it's okay now.."

She sniffed and clutched my shirt.

"It isn't! I caused you pain.."

"Then I guess we're even. I caused you so much pain before in the past, didn't I?"

My wife looked down, "I forgot about you and Daisy.. I forgot about Konoha.. I forgot who I really am just because I wallowed on the pain of missing you."

I smirked.

"Sakura Uchiha?"

"Yes..?"

"Shut up."

And with those words said, I kissed her. I kissed my wife passionately and it didn't take that long until she decided to kiss me back. And that made me happy. Having her, makes me happy. And from now on, no matter who the enemies are,

We'll face this fight together..

Shikamaru's POV

"Shikamaru, I think we should-----"

"Damn this!"

SLAM!

Karin, Suigetsu, and Ino were taken aback when I slammed both my hands on my desk. I inhaled deeply and exhaled all my irritations out. Juugo stood in a corner and silently watched me do so.

"We're not getting anywhere." I stated, this time more calmly.

It's been a days since King Sasuke has been missing and to add to the ANBU head's troublesome life, Princess Daisy has been kidnapped! Not to mention Queen Sakura's untimely disappearance.

With all the royals gone, the villagers have been frantic! The crime rate was rising higher and higher each day and Konoha's daily supplies have gotten drastically low. Shizune-san worked on the other paperworks but it wasn't enough!

With Sakura, Sasuke and even Daisy gone, their village is vulnerable..

And just now, Shika read Naruto's mission report, stating that they already have a lead on whose behind all this crap.

The Akatsuki.

"Of all people, why them? Tsk. This is such a drag." The brunette shook his head.

"We can't lose hope! I mean, yeah those bastards are good, but we're Team Taka! Sasuke is the King of Theives! We're also criminals! We can take them down!"

Karin glared at her husband. "Baka! Let me correct you, we were Team Taka... Sasuke-kun was the King of Theives, we were criminals.. so I'd be damned if you could even take one Akatsuki nin down!"

Ino shook her head and eyed the silent Shikamaru.

"Can't we do anything to track them?"

He shook his head, sadly. "They're great at hiding. No one even knows where they're hideout is. Those ninjas and their knights are a pain in the ass."

After a long moment of silence, Juugo finally spoke up,

"Iruka-san once proposed a tracking device disguised into a senbon needle, didn't he?"

And that perked the ANBU's attention. "Ahh.. well, yes.. but that was months ago. And Sasuke never approved of it. He said it still needs further development."

"Exactly." The orange-haired giant smiled knowingly, "It's been months... he probably made it more usable now. Besides, not even the Akatsuli leader himself knows about this technology."

The Akatsuki's leader. Mr. Pein... well, it's been a long time since he heard about that bastard. Years, he thought.

Shikamaru Nara smirked. "Well... it's worth a shot. Call in Iruka-san as soon as possible," but just before he could give anymore orders, Shizune barged into the room with a frightened face.

She huffed and finally revealed,

"KONOHA IS UNDER ATTACK!"

Sasuke's POV

I rolled on my side and embraced the woman I love.

I inhaled her intoxicating scent and pulled her naked body closer to mine. Her sleepy eyes darted at me as I gave her a small smile and caressed her cheek.

"I wish I got you pregnant."

She rolled her eyes. "Ha-ha.."

"I hope it'll be a boy... well, if it isn't, we can always try and try, Sakura-chan."

Sakura playfully hit my chest which made me laughed. Oh, how I missed this. I missed her. And yes, ws made love.

"I wonder how Daisy is doing.. I miss our daughter, Sasuke.. how is she?"

I smiled at her. "She's grown into a beautiful young woman who has a short-temper.. just like her mother."

Her sweet, melodic laughter filled the air. I kissed her forehead.

"What are we going to do now?" I heard the hesitation in her voice as she snuggled closer.

I sighed again, and told her,

"We're gonna escape."
