Robin Hood- Warrior (c)
Society within the enchanted forest looked at men and women far differently. You weren't sure why old views hung around for so long when they held back how the land could develop further if males and females were finally deemed equals as they should.
It was un-lady-like for women to learn how to fight, luckily your husband Robin gave in after months of begging him to train you.
He realised you were fairly gifted at using both a sword and a bow. By no means were you as capable as he was seen as he had years of experience compared to quite a few sessions of training you had experienced.
You weren't completely incapable though. To be fair you had won several spars against some of the merry men, however they may have not been sincere wins due to them not wishing to injure a woman.
When it came to a point that Robin and his men had to fight in a fairly tame battle you had wished to assist them, not wishing to just be a dead weight around the camp.
Pulling on the armour that had originally been Robin's but you had adjusted it, you went to grab the spare sword you had trained with however Robin pulled it away from you before you could grip it.
"What do you think you are doing?" He questioned holding the sword away from you.
"Well you cannot expect me to just stay here, it is not as though I need you to defend my honour," you retorted attempting to take the sword from him but failed as he suspected your futile attack.
He shook his head at you. "That is exactly what I expect. You cannot think I would ever allow you to waltz into battle."
"I'm not some damsel that needs to be saved," you said venomously, not wishing to be treated any different from the men whom lived in your camp.
Robin's expression was sympathetic. One of the first things he learnt about you was how headstrong you were and although you loved your husband you had never needed a man to protect you. He reached a hand out to caress your cheek to show how dearly he cared for you.
"True as that may be you aren't a warrior to be feared either."
Your eyebrows scrunched together in annoyance of him not allowing your way.
"Is it because I am a woman? You allow your men to fight no matter their injuries or incompetence, if they wish to go to battle they can. Why is that different for me? If I were a man would this be any different?"
His tone and expression stayed calm and caring even as yours turned to rage.
"It is not due to you being a woman. It is due to you being my wife. It would certainly be different if you were a man, I wouldn't have married you. I love you my dear. I love you with all of my heart and although I know you are capable of defending yourself, I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I knew you had been hurt or worse, and I could have possibly have stopped it. If this is where your heart is set then I cannot make you stay here, however I hope that you will," he commented softly.
Although you still desperately wanted to help, you loved your husband too much to allow him to get hurt by your stubborn antics.
"Fine. I shall stay here, but if you do not return in one piece I shall start a rampage through the Enchanted Forest that shall never be stopped until someone stops me," you stated firmly. "Come back to me my love."
He smiled fondly down a you, pressing his lips to yours.
"I will always return to you."
