Jefferson- The Evil Queen: Part 2 (h)

Ever since finding Jefferson again, it was as if everything had slotted into place in your life – things that worried you no longer did, the things that you couldn't understand made sense once Jefferson explained them.

It was strange being a married couple outside of the Enchanted Forest, but it also suited the both of you completely.

Before making a move to find Grace and your unborn child, you set about making Jefferson's mansion a place fit for children and made sure that there was room for the pictures of your family that was only going to grow.

What had surprised you both was that Regina had made no move towards either of you despite the whole town being aware of the fact that The Mad Hatter had found his wife.

Mary Margaret, who had been your friend throughout the cursed years, was cautious at first as the reputation of the mad hatter was not a good one but everyone was slowly getting to know each other in a new light.

It was time for you and Jefferson to find Grace, and so the two of you were waiting outside the school to see her when she came out.

Jefferson had his arm around you, but you could tell that he was nervous. "She remembers me leaving also my love, how do I know that she will forgive me?"

You sighed, hugging Jefferson's waist as the both of you continued to stare towards the school. "Despite all of that, you are still her father, and nothing can ever replace that."

That answer seemed to satisfy him and so the two of you waited patiently for school to finish.

As soon as it did, you spotted Grace in the crowd of children and you knew Jefferson had as well.

"Do you see her?" he whispered to you. "She is beautiful."

You nodded in agreement with your husband but held your breath when Grace noticed the two of you.

A massive smile broke out on her face and she began to run towards you both, so you fell down to your knees so that you could hug her when she got to you.

She barrelled into yours and Jefferson's eyes and started to cry once she was there.

"You found me; you both did."

Tears fell down your cheeks as she whispered to you and her father, but eventually you both let go of her and stood up.

Grace smiled up at you both and reached for Jefferson's hand.

"You are so beautiful," you told her as you rested your hand on her cheek.

She giggled, and Jefferson ruffled her hair causing her to giggle even more.

The three of you began to walk back to your home, but someone clearing their throat behind you made you all stop.

"Well isn't this a touching scene," Regina's voice came from behind you.

You two turned around, keeping Grace behind you as she held your hand.

"It is a shame that you only have one child with you."

Jefferson glared daggers at her. "What did you do to my baby?"

"Oh, so you know about the baby now? She must've told you yes?"

You sighed. "Please Regina, just give it up – there's no need for you to do this all over again."

She shook her head. "I am not making things easy for that madman."

"You have made my life hell!" Jefferson exclaimed as he continued to glare at her. "You call me a madman, and I am inclined to agree but that was in the absence of my family. You, your royal highness, have been mad since the day you were born, and nothing can change that."

Regina rolled her eyes, as if unaffected by Jefferson's words but you could tell that it had irritated her.

Jefferson took a step forward, away from you and Grace but towards Regina. "Now, tell me where my child is, or I swear I will destroy everything you have worked so hard to build."

The intensity in your husband's voice surprised you but you knew he meant what he said.

Regina stared at him, matching his glare but eventually a smirk graced her face.

"You might want to go and have a little chat with our dear Rumple."
