The Legend

Once upon a time, there was a Spanish Galleon ship that was stolen by fierce pirates in the 1400s. Over the years, they filled it with the treasure they stole, 'till it was an unimaginable amount. The ship groaned under the weight of all the treasure, so they headed to their secret cave-like hideout.

Upon their arrival they stashed the treasure in the hideout, dividing it into two chambers. They put only gems and some gold into the first chamber, and the rest of the wonderful treasure into the second chamber. In order to enter the first chamber, you needed to have a key to open a secret entrance, and switch levers in order to let you through. They also made a key for the second secret entrance into the last chamber, and hid the key on a different island, separate from the other key.

They hid the treasure like this, so that if anyone found the hideout, they would be fooled into thinking they had the entire treasure, when instead they only had a piece of it. That way, no matter how long the pirates lived, they would always be the richest. After the greedy pirates had hidden the treasure in this way, they celebrated raucously with rum, a bonfire, and a feast.

The next day, they kept on celebrating. But that night, they decided that they still didn't have enough treasure. Their greed was great. So the next morning they set out. Sailing forth into the untrustworthy seas, they sought land on which to pillage and plunder. However, the tide was about to turn against them. Ill fate was at hand. For after only days at sea, a terrible storm stuck. The ship tossed and turned, rain lashing its deck.

"All hands on deck!" The captain bellowed. The few hands that sheltered below deck rushed up into the drenching, piercing wind and rain.

"Turn about! Lower the mains'l!" The captain commanded. The crew scrambled to obey. The sails billowed, the thunder boomed, and lightning crashed. Waves half the size of the ship slammed against the faithful galleon, threatening to come aboard. After hours of battling against the horrendous storm, the ship struck an uprising rock, scraping and breaking the hull. Water rushed into and on the ship, and the pirates struggled to bail it out. But the water was too fast and dangerous. Finally the bottom decks filled up, and they were forced to flee to the top deck. The ship was sinking rapidly.

Glaring at the sky as he stood on the lookout, the captain shook his fist, his ship rapidly sinking underneath the treacherous sea.
