Chapter One

Over time, the tale of the pirates who stole and hid the unimaginable treasure became a story, then eventually just a legend. Many evil men sought this great treasure, without success. 'Till one day...

"All aboard!" 26-year-old Peter Strengent shouted cheerfully. It was the year 1936, and he, his wife Elaine, and his crew were finally out to sail to England, where his and Elaine's ancestors came from long ago. It was their first time ever away from America, and they were extremely excited. Elaine was rather nervous about travelling on a long journey on a ship (it was her first time on a ship), but if Peter is fine with it, I am too, she thought firmly.

All the crew scrambled aboard and began making certain everything was in place one last time. They had prepared the ship & checked everything the day before, but they wanted to double check that they were still good to go. The Strengent family's relatives stood on the boardwalk, waving good-bye. Peter smiled and waved at them, then took his place at the wheel.

"Good-bye, everyone! We'll see you in a few months!" Elaine called to them, waving as the ship cast off. Inwardly she was sad about leaving everyone, but outwardly she remained cheerful for Peter. Peter noticed this and smiled affectionately. Elaine was a good, kind young lady, beautiful and loving. He was glad he chose her.

Waving, Elaine watched as her family grew smaller and smaller, until they were only specs on the horizon. She turned and walked over to her husband's side. Putting his arm around her shoulders, he smiled down at her.

"Well, we're on our way to England for the first time ever!" He said. "What do you think of it?"

"I'm glad we're going," Elaine replied honestly.
