Chapter 19: Castles

"I'm headed straight for the castle
They wanna make me their queen
And there's an old man sitting on the throne, That's saying that I probably shouldn't be so mean."
~Halsey~

"Where are we going again?" I asked the man that I named.

"To the princes' castle." Seokjin replied.

"Why so? You're still up for selling me?" I playfully joked.

"Who knows? Maybe." He grinned and I glared at him.

We're now heading opposite to where we came from, which is the Master's Castle. I still don't have an idea who is the master Seokjin was talking about neither did he. We only know that he's called the master and nothing more. We left the place already but I feel like I shouldn't have done that.

"You should really stop zoning out, señorita. That might lead you to your death one day." The huntsman chuckled.

"I'm just thinking." I muttered.

Seokjin raised a brow. "Thinking of what again?"

"The master." I answered. "I'm just curious of what he looks like and why he wants me. I don't even have a clue that he exists until earlier."

"That's so anticlimactic. I brought you away from him but it feels like you're trying to run back to him." Seokjin mused.

"I just want to know if he could help me go back home. Maybe he knows my way back home." I reasoned causing Seokjin to go silent.

Seokjin chuckled after the moment of silence. "I don't really know how are you feeling as of now. A home is not really that familiar to me just like having a name."

My eyes soften at that. I was lucky enough to have my lover and my family back home but the man that is accompanying me right now doesn't even have one.

"Maybe one day, you'd find someone that'll be always waiting for you to come home, huntsman." I smiled sincerely.

Seokjin let out a puff of breath. "Maybe. Maybe not, but if so, then I can already say, 'I'm going home' one day."

His last statement pinched my heart and I felt piteous towards the handsome huntsman beside me. Here I was full-on complaining about being away from my home for several days when the man walking right beside me is literally alone without anyone to call his friend or lover. I'm lucky enough to have a lover and a few affiliates and I feel like I'm so ungrateful for behaving that way in front of someone that didn't even once experienced being held, being touched, and being loved.

A deafening silence enveloped the both of us after the huntsman's last statement. Him neither do I felt the need to talk again. We just walk silently waiting for the other to start yet another conversation. It was awkward enough that we didn't fought or whatsoever but we were acting like lovers after a quarrel about who's cheating or not.

A more seemingly forced coughing brought my attention back to reality and I gazed questioningly to the huntsman who grinned sheepishly in return.

"Is that contagious?" I asked, a clear hint of playfulness lacing my tone.

"Maybe, maybe not?" He questioned back, a more evident hint of playfulness could be heard on his voice.

Pursing my lips, I shrugged my shoulders making the huntsman let out a chuckle.

"We're near the castle. See those golden gates that's surrounded with silver vines and flowers? That's where we're headed." The huntsman said, pointing at a large structure that's indeed made of gold and silver.

Just looking at the golden gates reminds me of the Master's Castle. I don't know but my gut feeling is really pointing and directing me to go back to the Master's Castle. It felt like I should really meet him. Like I need him so that I could go back to my lover.

"Stop right there." Someone commanded not that far from the huntsman and I.

Men clad in golden metal walked towards Seokjin and I, their armory clinking with every step they make.

Upon reaching us, they came to a hault and gazed at us with an inspecting look.

"What is your business here? Do you have something to offer the princes?" One of the men, who I assumed as the leader of their asked expectantly.

"We came here to seek for help as this señorita is lost and she wants help so that she could go home." Seokjin explained.

The man eyed me from head to toe before deciding to accompany us to the castle's gates. They stopped just outside the huge building structure's entrance except for the man that talked to us earlier.

He stepped closer to the gates and knocked softly. Thus, the gates opened slowly letting us see the huge bridge we need to cross to get to the castle's door.

"You can't go with her, huntsman." The man leading our way stated, looking at Seokjin dead in the eye. "You shall stay here and wait if she's still coming back or so."

Seokjin nodded and started stepping away from me before I caught him by the wrist, tugging him towards my body. He looked startled but didn't utter a word, giving me enough time to turn to the man clad in the golden armory.

"Why is he not allowed to go with me in there?" I asked pointedly.

The man grimaced before sending me a hard look. "Such disgrace. A lady should never talk back to a man." He states. "But since you're not from our land, I'd let this one slide." He continued. "You're lucky that I didn't order anyone to whip the life out of you right now."

He then grab my arm and started dragging me towards the bridge.

"W-wait!" I yelled, pulling my arm out of his grasp.

The man dressed in the golden armory frowned, shooting a menacing glare at me. His right hand raising before hovering at the hilt of his sword, that's secured at the left side of his waist.

"Let me talk to him first." I said, standing my ground.

We got locked into a staring contest and he was the first to look away. That means victory.

"Hurry, disrespectful lady. We don't have all day." He grumbled under his breath.

I ignored his comment and walked towards Seokjin who's looking at me with confusion displayed all over his face.

"Jin, are you sure this is a good idea? Do you think those princes would really help me? From the looks of it, the guards in this castle are douche bags." I complained.

"Maybe the guards are but maybe the princes are kind? They rule this land after all and I never heard of any complains about their way of ruling until you just did now." Seokjin chuckled.

"Maybe because the princes ordered those douche guards to behead everyone that's not agreeing to whatever they say. Women shouldn't talk back to men? That's old. Women nowadays could rule by themselves without a big buff guy always with them treating them like slaves."
I grimaced.

"That's enough. I don't want the prince to wait." The golden armory clad guy remarked.

I shrugged before patting the huntsman's shoulder. "I'd be back later. If I don't come back after a day, I expect you to crash inside this castle's grounds okay?"

"Wha—" His words were cut off as I shouted a quick farewell to him before following the douche guard towards the castle's door.

We crossed the bridge and I notice that the water below doesn't hold any life to it. There's no aquatic plants present nor fish to give the lake some atmosphere.

The double doors of the castle opened automatically as if it's waiting for someone to enter at that moment. We walked inside and I was moved when I saw what it looks inside.

Gold.

From the pillars, to the chandeliers, to the walls and to the glittering floor.

Everything was gold.

People, even all the people walking and working is clad in the deep yellow colour.

"Follow me." The douche guard said, making me break into my train of thoughts and start walking again, glancing at everyone who seems to not mind of my presence at all.

Is this their usual reaction upon seeing an intruder?

The douche guard led me to a grand pair of staircase covered in the yellow metallic color and there stood a man dressed differently from the others. He's not clad in gold at all and he stood tall at the top end of one of the staircase.

"My Lord." The douche guard bowed, showing his respect to the man dressed in a long white gown that resembled a priest. The only gold in his appearance is the sceptre he's holding. The rest is all covered with the color that represents purity.

The douche bag hissed glaring at me as I held no intention on bowing to show my respect.

"Forgive me, my Lord. She's a—" The douche guard was cut off by the man.

"An outsider." The man announced, walking towards us carefully measuring his steps. His hand gripped the handle of the sceptre hard and used it as a leverage for every step he takes. His other hand is also holding the handle hard.

From the looks of his eyes, I couldn't help but wonder if he's blind.

He walked closer until he's face to face with me. He held the hand that's not holding the sceptre out stretching it my way.

"You're not supposed to be here I see. But you can call me Namjoon, darling."
