That One Time
**1 Week after Surprise**
//Your POV//
After a camp on friendship bracelet making, I was finally able to rest a little bit after lunch.
During Lunch I had an apple that was wasn't that bad looking and that's it.
I swear to god this camps making me starve myself.
The food is shit here.
While I everyone was eating, I finished early and I walked up to Jaiden who was still eating and sat down next to her.
"Oi, Jaiden," I greeted her raising my index and middle finger in our own special greeting gesture.
"Hey, sis," She chuckled, referring to us calling each other soul sisters.
I pushed the friendship bracelet I made her towards her, "Here."
"Thanks! It's so cute!!" Jaiden squealed.
"Want to go on a walk? Just the two of us?" Jaiden Asked.
"Sure!" I smiled.
She threw away her scraps, choosing to be independent and we went on our merry way.
"Shouldn't we at least tell someone we're going?" Jaiden Asked.
"Maybe. Hey Gwen!" I yelled to the brunette.
"What?" She looked up from her magazine on super models and gossip.
"Jaiden and I are going for a walk,"
"Okay," She answered, resuming to her magazine.
As much as Jaiden didn't want me to, I pushed her wheelchair out into the forest.
Although I didn't mention this to Jaiden, I felt the strange feeling that we were being watched.
//Max's POV//
I watched Y/n and her friend walk off.
They're probably going to talk about whatever girls talk about so no point on ease dropping.
Y/n seems so happy when she's near Jaiden and knows she's safe.
That's what I've learned about her this week, she's very close with Jaiden, more than I assumed.
Nothing can break her spirit.
At least she's one of the lucky ones that doesn't have to be brought down as much as I did when I tried to be as happy as her.
Happiness doesn't set itself in.
It's something that has to be originally in your body to work.
I've never had that.

⚠️Feels warning ahead, Talking about divorce for a little bit. It's only for a little bit. I'll let you know when it's over. You've been warned.⚠️
"Hey Y/n?" Jaiden began.
"Yeah?" I took my attention towards her.
"Remember that one time where we were trading Pokémon cards at your old house and all of a sudden your parents started fighting out of the blue?"
"...yeah,"
"I just have one question and then we can get off the topic. What did your father do that made your mom so upset?" Jaiden asked softly.
"I honestly still don't know...All I remember was my father saying 'I'm sorry' over and over and my mom saying that 'he went too far' and 'needs to get himself together'. I've made a few theories but I don't think their true," I shrugged.
"Oh...Well, let's change the subject to something that won't upset ya," She suggested.
"Thanks."

"Sooo...let's switch gears. What's with you and Max?"
"What do you mean by that?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Like—, As from what I heard from others here, he's the biggest asshole and most selfish person here. You've had your life saved by him," Jaiden glared at me with that smug look.
"Why do I have an idea of where your going with this?" I pressed my fingers in between eyes.
"You like him don't you?~"
I felt red crawl it's way up my face and I stared wide eyed at Jaiden.
"Look Jai," I began using my nickname for her, "I know you want me to get out there and fall in love at least for a little while but after how Kevin betrayed me, I ain't gonna do that again."
"Kevin was an ass."
"And Max can't break my heart? Besides I just met him, I barely know him," I sighed.
"You Kevin was defiantly wrong. He's an idiot. You're not. You'll find someone," Jaiden comforted me.
I remember Kevin just barely, but enough to make me fear dating.
⚠️More Feels, Just Mild Emotional Abuse and online bullying. Nothing physical⚠️
He never hurt me, no, he's too much of a wimp to do that.
He sort of hurt me more emotionally.
Kevin always told me that I was so lucky I had him and always had to appreciate him.
One day, after we got into a big fight, he posted this whole big rant on Twitter, playing the victim like usual.
Most kids believes the popular kids at schools, my school ain't different.
Kevin was able to convince everyone.
Even my teachers at one point, though I explained and had Jaiden and some other of my friends back me up.
The teachers had that post taken down, though that didn't stop everyone's thoughts about me.
I eventually grown to ignore everything, but that hasn't erased what he's done.
❤️Feels are over❤️
We soon got back to the camp and made it in time for a bonfire.
Jaiden got super happy because she ended up sitting next to Neil.
At least she has a chance of being happy.
I tried to stop thinking about all that we talked about earlier until Max sat next to me.
"Hey," I greeted.
He must've noticed me being unfocused.
"You realize that your marshmallow is burning up?"
"Oh..whoops," I pulled the burnt, melted blob of sugar out of the fire and it fell to the ground.
"Do you want mine?" He asked, "I mean, I can steal another for you or myself."
"Nah, it's fine. Thanks though," I smiled weakly.
"I can't believe I'm saying this but..are you okay?" He asked me, concerned.
"No, I'm okay. Just tired that's all," I lied.
"Oh..alright then," Max sounded as if he didn't buy it but must've decided to drop it.
"See you tomorrow, I guess," I got up.
"Yeah. Night', Y/n."
I walked to my tent and shut the zipper.
I changed into my sleepwear (which is just a black tank top and shorts with two black stripes on each side).
I flopped onto my cot and drifted to sleep, staring at the photo of me and my parents.
