Surprise

//Your POV//

"So, What were you trying to do, spying on us?" I asked.

"I just was bored, so I was going to prank you all," Max shrugged as he got up.

"Well, then you're in for a rude awakening," Jaiden stick her tongue out.

"Pffft.." I begin to laugh.

"Y/n,It's not funny! We were having a serious, not to mention private," Jaiden eyed Max, "Conversation."

"I know, know..it's just that it's such a stupid thing to get mad over and he failed so bad!" I spoke between laughing.

Nikki soon joined me in laughter while Jaiden soon caught a smile on her face and rolled her eyes.

Even Max got a chuckle or two out.

"Oh and Y/n," Max Spoke.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"David wants you guys to go to the center of camp right now,"

"Alright," I rolled my eyes.

We all followed Max to see David and everybody else in the center of camp.

David ran up to me with a shit eating smile on his face.

"Y/n! Today, you will be telling everyone about yourself so you can make new friends," David announced.

"Um, I don't think I want to-"

"Nonsense! Go up there and tell us about yourself!" David pushed me up there.

I felt all the needles inside me sticking and cut at my gut.

'You're going to make a fool out of yourself, I know it,' My thoughts told me.

"David, I don't think this is a good idea," Jaiden protested.

"Yeah David, it's pretty obvious she doesn't want to do it," Max told him.

"But this is just what she needs to make more friends! Alright Y/n, steal the show!" David exclaimed.

"Uh...Hi, I'm Y/n L/n. I don't have many interests really..um, maybe singing? cooking? I'm sorry I'm so unprepared. What else....I, Uh...," My breath started to pick up and I started to sweat, "Funfact; my parents are divorced? I'm sorry for looking like a pity party. I think I s-should go, dammit, I'm sorry for stuttering, bye.."

'Knew it,' My muse bragged.

I ran away from everybody else.

I felt the tears run down from my eyes and I tried to wipe them all off but they wouldn't stop.

//Max's POV//

"God dammit, David!" I yelled at him,"Do you know what you just did? You literally just forced a person to talk about themselves while it was obvious they were having a panic attack!"

"Max..language," Is all David had to say.

"Max is right, David. I know Y/n on a personal level and I know that when she has to do public speaking, she panics and as Max said, she has something as close to an anxiety attack," Jaiden explained.

"I'll go get her," I sighed.

I followed where she went and soon I found her sitting on the small beach that sits in front of the lake and I heard singing.

(PLAY SONG)

"It all became so lovely."

Her voice was sweet and calm, but also sad.

"Those bluest skies above me."

I stayed behind a bush to listen.

"Those funny feelings I had never felt before I met you."

"I thought I'd stay a while."

"I tried to learn to smile."

The song she was singing had such deep lyrics.

"So many colors I had never even known."

"Maybe I'd find myself sitting on that distant shore."

"Maybe I'm not alone."

I just wanted to listen to her all day.

"Then I see the colors fading."

"Gentleness of light escaping."

"Shadows of my fear invading."

"Have I seen this all before?"

She looked so sad and was actually crying while singing, obviously trying to stop.

"I know that there's something residing."

"That terror deep inside me."

"I couldn't understand how you can be so bold."

"Maybe I'd find myself smiling on that distant shore."

"Maybe I'm not alone," Y/n finished singing and looked up.

I slowly got up and walked towards her.

"Y/n," I said.

She turned face to look at me, tears running quickly like little rivers down her cheeks.

I walked to her and sat on the ground next to her.

Y/n curled up into a ball hiding her face from me.

"I'm sorry.." She mumbled.

"What for?" I asked.

"Making you come out here," I could barely hear her talk.

"It was by choice, you know. Are you okay?"

"I've been better," She answered.

"I'm sorry David did that to you, he's an idiot," I looked to the ground.

"It's not your fault," She mumbled, "I really made a fool out of myself, huh?"

"No, you didn't," I told her.

"You know, you don't have to lie to me," She looked at me with a red face and swollen eyes from crying.

I used my sleeve to wipe her cheeks of tears which made her blush a bit.

"I'm not lying, you need to stop putting yourself down like this, you're an amazing person. Please," I told her.

"I...I..I'm so-"

"Stop apologizing. You don't need to apologize to me," I held her soft hand.

Out of nowhere, I hugged her..?

I don't usually hug people, but I had to make an exception for her.

"Also, you have a very beautiful voice," I told her.

I could feel her face burn against me.

For the rest of the time we were there, we just sat there.

No words. No movement.

Just Y/n in my arms.

The only movement she made was her chest moving up and down while she was breathing.

After a while, I realized it began to get dark so I looked down to see Y/n sleeping curled up in my arms, her head against my chest.

I smiled as I watched her dream for at least 10 minutes until I realized that we should've definitely left a while back.

I picked her up and was able to get her on my back so I could carry her.

I considered carrying her in my arms but that would've been embarrassing if she woke up and saw me carrying her like that.

Once we back to camp, David asked if she was alright but I told him to fuck off.

I brought Y/n to her tent and put her in her cot.

I tucked her in and made sure that she would be warm.

I was about to leave when I saw something next to her cot.

It was a family photo.

The child in the middle looked a lot like a younger Y/n so the older man and women must've been her parents.

This photo must've taken place before her parents got divorced.

I looked behind me to see Y/n sleeping peacefully which made my face burn with blush while I smiled.

"Goodnight, Y/n."
