Only One Punch

SORRY IT'S SO LATE!!

//Your POV//

"This is gonna work, I feel it!" Max said excitedly.

"Um, alright," I shrugged.

We ran for I don't even know how long.

So many trees and shrubs passed by.

Finally we stopped to take a breath.

"Wow..*huff*.. this is *wheeze* kinda fun,"I huffed between breaths.

"I think we should take a break or you might just pass out," Max chuckled.

"Thanks," I rubbed my arm against my forehead, clearing it of sweat.

"Damn....I've never really done something like this before. How does your parents think of you doing this?" I asked.

Max turned his head away and sighed.

"It's simple, they don't care."

"Wait, What?" What do you mean?" I asked.

"Like I Said, they just don't want anything to do with me, that's why they sent me to this fucking place, so they can get rid of me for the summer," Max explained.

"Oh my god.. I'm so sorry," I apologized.

"It's fine-"

"No really, I shouldn't have asked," I interrupted him.

"Jeez, you need to learn how to shrug things off," Max rolled his eyes.

"Heh. It's one of my negative qualities," I chuckled, "And you know what? Maybe one day, you can meet my mom and dad, they're divorced but, you can meet both separate! I'm sure they'd like you!"

"How would we even-"

"We could hitch a ride on a train! Or a bus! My mom packed me money so it's possible," I suggested.

"I guess. The nearest town isn't too far from here but one question, what would your parents think of you escaping?" Max asked.

"My dad wasn't too fond on sending me to this camp. He's really smart and could tell it was a fraud but my mom is naive and didn't listen to him, so he told me if I ever needed to leave, I could spend the summer with him and mom wouldn't even know," I explained.

"Sounds like a plan," Max smiled.

"You know, I really-"

Just then, I was interrupted by a loud shaking noise coming from a bush.

I slowly, hesitantly, walked towards it.

"It's probably David," Max shrugged.

"No...David would come from that way," I pointed east.

The bush was westbound so it didn't make sense unless David went around us but
1. I can tell he's too dumb to do that
And
2. Its way too dark to see anything anyways.

"Ew..what's that smell?" Max cringed as he covered the lower half of his face with his hand.

Grrrrrr....

We heard a low growl which indicated there was an animal nearby.

I retreated, walking backwards until I bumped into Max.

Just then, a large, brown, blob of growls emerged from the bush.

"Oh my god..." I whispered.

Right there, a large cave bear stood before us.

"Holy fucking shit," Max's breath became shaken as well as mine.

The cave bear came closer and we stepped farther away.

We soon walked so far back, we hit a large wall of rock.

Petrified and afraid of moving, I took the 0.1% of courage I had and dared to move.

I picked up a medium sized branch, and held it up.

The oak branch was rather heavy and painful on my wrists to keep up.

"S-stay back," I managed to stutter, "I'm warning y-you,"

I really didn't want to hit the animal, I really didn't, but if I didn't , we would most likely die.

I slowly raised the branch as high as I could and forced my eyes shut so I wouldn't see what I was about to do.

"I-I'm Sorry."

I used all my force to slam that branch as hard as I could and hit the cave bear in the face.

It barely did anything besides make the bear even more angry.

"No,no,no,no,no,no,no.." I mumbled.

The bear got closer and closer, and closer.

The bear was ready to attack, and I can tell it wanted me more than Max unlike before.

The bear swiftly moved it's jaw towards me and took a bite into my arm, locking on.

"AAAUGHH!" I cried in pain.

"Y/N!" Max yelled for me.

I was able to kick the bear so it let go but it already did a lot of damage.

Max crouched next to me and looked my arm.

"Max..I'm scared," I looked up at him.

"You're going be alright,"  He spoke.

Max stood up and faced the bear.

"Back off!" Max started yelling at the bear.

"M-Max-"

The bear then charged towards Max and Max did something I would never forget.

Max punched the bear in the face, notably in the mouth making his fist start to bleed from scraping against the cave bear's sharp teeth.

It only took one punch.

The bear, some how intimidated, whined, and walked away.

"Holy. Fucktopus," I whispered.

"Max! That was amazing! Are you alright?!" I quickly went over to him.

"I can't believe I just did that," He only Said.

"Thank you for saving me," I hugged him swiftly.

//Max's POV//

She hugged me.

Usually I would just push someone off but for some weird reason, I didn't.

I even patted her back a little bit with my good hand.

"I..uh...no problem," I finally muttered.

'JESUS CHRIST YOU'RE TERRIBLE!' I yelled at myself for saying such shitty words.

Y/n soon let go and looked up at the sky.

"Well, you gotta admit one thing. Camp Campbell has the perfect area for looking at the stars," Y/n smiled weakly, "They're beautiful."

"Yeah," I sighed.

Sooner or later, David found us.

He was in his car and used the first aid kit in the trunk to patch us up.

Y/n sat next to me in the back of the car while David drove after lecturing us.

I looked at her to see that she was already asleep.

Just as I realized that, She unconsciously slumped her body against mine and her head rolled on my shoulder.

I felt my face go red hot as she did that.

'She's so damn warm..' I thought to myself.

I was tired myself so I put my head on hers and closed my eyes and soon fell asleep.

But right before I fell asleep, I looked out the window and looked at the stars.

'They sure are beautiful,' I thought.

**BONUS**

//David's POV//

I looked to the back seat to see if Max and Y/n we're doing okay.

"Are you kids sure you're-"

I stopped talking to see Y/n sleeping with her head on Max's shoulder who was also sleeping with his head on Y/n's head.

"Aww..." I whispered.
