Chapter 19: Friends and Funny Stories

Chapter 19

Cyrus's Point of View

I sat at the lunch table, watching as Maverly animatedly talked to Christy and Riley. I smiled, wondering how I got so lucky. She was amazing, beautiful, interesting, and smart. And I'm... well... me.

She finally caught me staring as she blushed and looked away. I smiled, laughing at that. She looked so adorable when she blushed.

"Stop with the PDA." Riley groaned, laying his head onto the table. "What PDA?" Maverly said, acting as if she knew nothing of the sort. "You know what I'm talking about... the staring and blushing. Eck, it's gross." He said, sticking his finger slightly in his mouth. I wasn't even going to begin talking about how inappropriate that sentence and action sounded and looked.

I glared at him before turning towards Maverly, a fierce idea burning in my mind. I reached forward, grabbing her cheek in my hand and the side of her neck in the other, kissing her. I felt sparks. Like fireworks, or atomic bombs for better words. We kissed for a second before Christy piped in.

"Aww!" She said. When Maverly pulled away, she glared at me but then laughed as Riley got up and walked off in the direction of Leila, things were going good between them. Warner, Riley, and I were planning a triple date... wait that sounded wrong. Warner and Christy, Riley and Leila, and Maverly and I are planning a triple date together. Better, much better.

I plan to have Maverly meet Sean and Avery, soon. I looked over at her as we walked hand in hand to my car. She stared at me for a moment before turning away and laughing while smiling.

"What?" I demanded.

"Nothing." She said, blinking innocently.

"What?" I repeated.

"It's nothing, really." She repeated, this time laughing even more.

"I demand you tell me." I stated.

"Why?" She challenged, raising an eyebrow.

"If you don't I'll tickle you." I replied, holding my hands out.

"You wouldn't." She stated, eyes narrowing.

"But baby, I so would," I retorted, stepping closer to her. She stared at me before I spoke. "You asked for it." I began tickling her stomach as she squealed and squirmed around, punching my chest and arms while laughing like a maniac.

"Tell me!" I exclaimed.

"No!" She defended.

"I could do this all day." I lied. Eventually, tickling starts to hurt... on both ends.

"Okay, okay, I'll tell you." She said, smiling.

"What is it?" I asked as she looking into my eyes, a large grin appearing on her face.

"I realized how lucky I was to have you." She spoke, biting her lip slightly as she swung our entwined hands forward and backwards.

"Not as lucky as I am to have you." I stated, hugging her to my chest. She laughed slightly.

"Hey guys." I said as Sean and Avery appeared at my door, grinning madly.

"Where is she?" Avery said, his eyes widening as he searched my house.

"Calm down, she's in my room." I stated, pushing him back slightly.  He was acting like a maniac.

"If we're interrupting something..." Sean joked. I glared at him before rolling my eyes.

"I have some rules. You're to say nothing about anything we've ever talked about. Got it?" I said, raising an eyebrow as they both nodded, irritated. Glad I have that effect on them.

Maverly's Point on View

I sat on his couch, my legs outstretched and clad with black skinny jeans. My blue jumper hung off of my shoulder as I waited for him to return with his friends. I heard them coming up the stairs before a boy with black hair and big, gray eyes swung open the door, taking in the setting.

"Dude, where is she?" He asked, glancing around.

"She's short." Cyrus described me. Glad that is how I look in his eyes.

"She's over there on the couch." Cyrus said as they craned their necks to see me.

"Uh... Hi." I stated, coughing slightly. Their eyes scanned me; the shorter one glanced a bit too long for Cyrus and my liking. Cyrus smacked him in the back of the head, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"I'm Avery." He said, smirking. His name matched him well, his gray eyes glistening evilly.

"I'm Sean, obviously." Sean spoke, smiling and nodding at me.

"I'm Maverly." I introduced myself, leaning deeper into the couch.

"So you're the girl that Cyrus's been going on and on about." Avery stated, grinning. I felt my face turn red as Cyrus glared at him.

"I told you not to Avery." He warned with a threatening tone to his voice.

"He's been going on and on and on and on, telling us how your hair has different tones and shades to it, how your lips fit your face so perfectly and looked oh so soft, and your eyes- oh, he went Bruno Mars when he was talking about them. They make the stars look like they're not shining." Avery said, avoiding Cyrus's glare as he continued talking to me, amusing me. I smiled at Cyrus's embarrassment.

"You better shut up." Cyrus said, stepping closer.

"So how are your... extracurricular activities going?" He asked, winking. His bluntness shocked me.

"We've been dating for 3 days." I explained, raising my eyebrows.

"I'm surprised Cyrus has waited this long." He continued, earning a gasp from Sean. Most girls would be offended by this, but me, I was laughing loudly.

"Avery shut up!" Cyrus exclaimed, jumping over the coffee table, nearing Avery. Avery began speed walking while yelling out things to me.

"I remember one time, in around 4th grade- Cyrus was in 3rd and he was so gullible! I tricked him to walk up to a teacher and ask her to 'tickle his pickle for a nickel' and he actually did it! He got suspended for 5 days and a severe talking to but he actually did it!" Avery shouted, earning another round of laughter between me and Sean.

"Oh did he?" I asked, watching as Cyrus chased after Avery.

"And the time when he walked up to a girl, who was 2 whole grades ahead of him, she was a 9th grader down the street from us and I dared him to say 'Do you wash your pants with Windex because I can practically see myself in them?' And he did! She laughed but her boyfriend didn't find it funny!" Avery continued, dodging Cyrus by tossing a coat onto the floor in which Cyrus almost slipped on.

"And then the next time, there was this girl who had super dark hair which was really long." Avery laughed loudly thinking about the story, hunching over slightly as Cyrus tackled him.

"Oh no." Sean said, smirking.

"Don't." Cyrus warned him, glaring at Avery.

"What? I want to know now!" I said, crossing my arms and pouting.

"Your girlfriend is pouting!" Avery said, jutting his chin towards me.

"Too bad, that's a different story for a different time. And that time is never!" Cyrus warned.

"I can fix your pout, babe." Avery said, turning his head towards me.

"Dude shut up!" Cyrus hissed. Cyrus looked at me and smiled sheepishly and Avery took this to his advantage, flipping him over and getting up and running around.

"IT'S NOT FUNNY!" Cyrus shouted, burying his head in a pillow.

"But it... is, boyfriend!" I shouted throughout fits of laughter.

Patricia ordered pizza for us as we sat around, playing Call of Duty. Now, we're eating.

"So... I heard you disrespected Cyrus, The King, Angelo." Sean spoke, grinning. I rolled my eyes.

"He is no king." I stated, scowling at the term.

"Puh-lease," Avery exclaimed in a girly voice. "You're such a lucky duck. What I would do to be the queen? Hmm, hmm, hmm." He continued and I let out a bark of laughter.

"What pushed you to talk to him?" Sean asked, raising an eyebrow.

"More like who pushed me." I muttered, biting into my pizza.

"You can't technically call wind a who." Cyrus teased as I glared at him.

"You know what?" I asked.

"What?" He asked, amused, as he bit into his pepperoni pizza.

"I can tell them a lot of things about you." I stated.

"Tell them something they don't know." He said, raising and dropping his eyebrows as if challenging me. "Okay. I beat him in Call of Duty more times than I can count, he likes to twerk to Nicki Minaj, and he made out with Miranda." I stated. The last one shocked Avery.

"I knew you were a better Call of Duty player than him since his kill- death ration improved majorly since the last time I'd played the game with him. Care to show us? And you're not jealous?" Avery stuttered out.

"Nope." I said, biting into my hot sauce clad pizza.

"Why not?" Cyrus asked.

"Because now, I can make out with you anytime I want." I shrugged. Cyrus grinning widely as Avery groaned.

"Not now. That's disgusting." He muttered, rolling his eyes and scowling at us as we laughed.

"You're quiet, aren't you Sean?" I asked, turning to him.

"Yeah." He muttered, looking at his food.

"Once he gets used to you, you'd wish he hadn't. I wish that every day." Avery joked, watching as Sean glared at him.

"You're annoying." Sean said, sipping his soda.

"You're just figuring that out?" Cyrus asked, laughing as Sean joined in and I did too. Avery sat there, pouting.

"I'll fix that pout for you, babe." I joked. Avery laughed as he leaned it. Cyrus grabbed a book sitting close by as he smacked Avery in the mouth with it.

"Dude! I just got my braces off!" He said, holding his mouth.

"Too bad, Avery." Cyrus laughed.

"She encouraged it! She's making comments like that!" Avery defended. Cyrus glared at me. He kissed my mouth lightly. I felt my face warm up as I smiled.

"And that was a punishment?" Avery shouted, annoyed.

"Yes." Cyrus said, grinning.

"Why can't I get that punishment?" Avery asked, feigning sadness. I laughed loudly. I knew these guys were going to be my friends for a long time.

"So... how about that twerking?" Avery asked and I rolled my eyes. Maybe not that long.
