8: Stuck With You
Vladimir's POV
"What's the plan, boss?"
The plan was to get Kai out of this fucking place. I paused as I thought about why I was here. But did it matter? Not when Kai was in trouble.
"We-" An alarm interrupted me so I quickly run to where the meeting was held with Ray at my heels.
The meeting was surely cut short as some of the people present before were no longer around and some were currently leaving the room. I looked around and saw the woman who was talking before. I ran in her direction and when two men stood guard on the door she had entered, me and Ray fought them.
"Charon must have arrived." Ray said, explaining why the alarm must have rang, as we passed through the door after killing the two vampires. Probably, Ash had called for both Ray and Charon, knowing I wouldn't bother for back up until I was done.
We came into a long corridor that had lots and lots of doors on each side. I didn't waste time but pulled open the nearest door to me and Ray getting the hint, he opened the opposite door. Unfortunately, they were both empty.
Not losing hope, I moved on to the next door as so did Ray. There was something strange about the corridor with how long it was, however, I didn't let my mind linger on it as I continued on pushing the doors open.
"They have people, I think they are experimenting on them with a strange drug. They must have them in one of these doors." I offered an explanation to Ray.
Ray didn't say anything but I knew he heard me crystal clear. I was two doors away from Ray, who had been caught up in one of the doors, when he called for me.
"Vlad, I found someone."
I had just turned the handle on the door before me when he called. So I figured I'd go see after checking the room. "I'll be with you shortly."
I opened the door and unlike the twenty doors I had opened, this one wasn't empty. The woman from before was sitting on a chair with a glass of wine in hand.
"Took you long enough." She smirked.
"You-" I began to say when suddenly a strong force pulled me inside the room, the door slamming hard behind me.
My hands touched the floor to steady myself before pushing back up, standing on my feet. The room I had stumbled into wasn't what I looked at when my eyes glanced about. I looked behind me and the door was nowhere to be seen.
Instead of a small room, I was now standing before a long dining table that had all kinds of food and drinks. Instead of behind me, the door was before me, right behind the woman who was seated at the head of the table. She still had a glass in her hands, eyes scrutinizing me as she took sips of whatever was filled in the glass.
"Who are you?" The question flew out of me.
The woman smirked as she placed the glass on the table. "Exactly what I've been wondering about you, my dear. Take a seat. "
I realized I had been walking when I pushed out a chair and sat down. I cursed at my unfortunate, for I wasn't a fan of magic and this woman had her magic wrapped all around me;the place, the food and now that I thought of it, I was certain her appearance had something to do with magic. I only thought she was a vampire before but now I was rethinking that.
"So tell me, who are you?" The woman asked.
My father's words echoed as the memory flashed in my mind. It was after a huge fight when my younger brother let slip that he was my fathers son. Five covens were after his blood and we had to kill them all. It wasn't a pretty memory but his words after the fighting were that mattered here.
"Vladimir Ricochet."
"That doesn't ring a bell if you are really saying the truth, but I don't put it past you to not lie." She stood up and took a knife which I didn't even know was there. She twirled it in her hands and smiled at me which should have put me at ease but it didn't.
I was alert when she began coming my way. I wanted to move but I couldn't even lift a finger. I was stuck on the chair and I watched her coming closer and closer to me.
"What are you doing?" I seethed as she stood behind me. I felt the knife on my neck, its coldness making me aware of its direction as she moved it to my arm so torturous-slowly. I kept on willing my body to move but nothing happened and I flinched when she cut my wrist.
"Your blood smells like that of a brat I know but you said you were sired by someone else." She took the knife to her mouth and her tongue did a swift cleansing of the blood on it. "Mmmmm, you also test like him."
I was nervous, I didn't know where she was going with all that was happening and I almost regretted coming here. Almost.
"Who. Are. You." She held my jaw tightly and snarled in my face.
"Vladimir Ricochet." I spat.
She released me and began laughing as she walked back to her seat. I wondered what was funny but I wasn't that curious to know about it. She sat down and took her glass, taking a couple of sips before placing it back on the table.
"I like you, Vladimir." She stated and I glared at her which only made her smile. "What are you doing here?"
I blankly stared at her.
"What are you looking for? Or should I say who?"
"Kai, " the name came out, my mouth opening without permission.
"Oh." She had the nerve to look confused but it didn't last long as she once again said, "oh" with a smile on her face. "We do have a Kai. "
"Where is he?" I stupidly asked as if she could just spill it to me.
"He's special." She said with a dreamy look on her face. I didn't like it that she deemed Kai as someone special because it meant he might be out of my reach. Suddenly, she was staring at me as if I was an answer to all her problems.
"What?" I wondered aloud.
"There was something about him I couldn't pinpoint but now that I've met you, I think I'm certain about some things." She walked to me and stood beside me, leaning on the table. "You once gave him your blood, didn't you? Is he your boyfriend?"
I gritted my teeth and refused to utter a single word in response and she only smiled. She then walked away and I watched as she waved her hand and a door appeared on the wall. She opened the door and looked at me with a raised brow, "are you coming?"
I didn't answer verbally as instead, my body finally moved and I followed her out the door into a corridor a bit different than the one I was walking before coming inside the room. I remembered Ray and wondered if he was captured like me or he was facing something else.
"Your friend is fine as well as all the kidnapped people. The police came and took care of everything but with the exception of you and our dear Kai."
"Where are you taking me?"
"To meet Kai." She answered like it should have been obvious to me and I chose to remain silent.
I couldn't figure out where we were or where she was taking me. Her magic was strong and that made me feel bad about myself because I knew getting out or fighting her was impossible to achieve. If only my father was home, maybe he could have sensed I was in danger and no matter where I was, my father would somehow find me. But he was away for some time now.
I wondered if everything was okay with Kai. Oliver would be devastated if anything was to happen to his friend. Then there was Kai's parents, they must have been worried.
"Here we are." She announced and I looked up at the door.
She opened it and stood to the side, motioning me to get inside. I hesitantly took a step and then another until I passed through the opening. I looked behind me to her, wondering if she was also coming inside or not.
"I'll see you again to collect what's rightfully mine." She stated so seriously then she smiled before quickly shutting the door.
I jumped to try and push it open but a second away from holding the door handle, the door vanished and in its place was a wall. I cursed punched the wall in anger.
"What are you doing?" A voice asked behind me and I turned to find Kai looking at me like I'm stupid.
"I-"
"Punching the wall won't magically grant you a way out, you moron." Kai said then walked away.
Immediately, I followed him and found him taking a seat on a couch then pressing play on a movie he had paused. I was taken aback by his actions as he comfortably sat watching a movie without a care at all. Wasn't he kidnapped?
"What is this, Kai?"
"What is what?" He shrugged, still looking at the fucking movie. To say I was angry would be an understatement.
I had been worried about this guy. I killed a few people as I searched for this brat and here he was, watching a movie, like he was at his home. I didn't understand a thing and I felt like punching someone.
"Weren't you kidnapped?" I asked and he finally glanced at me.
"I am being kept here without my wish if that's what your asking."
What the hell?
"Really? I'm finding it hard to believe." I scoffed.
"What do you expect?" Kai yelled surprising me. "My fucking boyfriend betrayed me. I was strapped to a bed and was injected with different things and it hurt like hell. I cried, I screamed and I blacked out then found myself here. I've looked around but there's no window, no door just a fucking house. So I decide to take a seat and wait on whatever fate befalls on me and you think I'm enjoying being here?"
"I didn't know-"
"Of course you didn't." Kai glared at me then looked away. He was staring at the movie once again.
"Look, I'll look around and see if I can find something, possibly a way out of this place." I said and Kai snorted.
"Be my guest."
I wanted to say something but thought against it and began my mission to break out of this place. There was a living room, kitchen, three bedrooms with bathrooms in it. True to Kai's words, there was no windows and the doors available only led to rooms inside the house but not outside. My wonder on how this could be was short lived as I remembered that with magic, anything was possible.
"Kai, " I began when I strolled back to where he was sitting. He looked at me and sighed.
"You found nothing too huh?" He asked and my silence confirmed his fears. He closed his eyes and possibly willing back the tears I had seen in his eyes earlier. "So what now?"
"I guess you are stuck with me." I tried to smile but ended up cringing.
"Yes, I'm definitely stuck with you." Kai said then opened his eyes. "So, what happened for you to find me here?"
"It is a long story."
"I'm sure we have the time."
He was right. We had the time, who knows how long we would be stuck in this house with each other. I cleared my throat ready to start telling him all about it.
"It actually begins with you-"
"Oh, really?" Kai chuckled.
I smiled.
Here goes nothing.
