We're Cress & Leigh, two writers excited to make our debut with our first-ever collaborative project, Once Upon a Lie.

HOLLAND CRESS writes contemporary romance. While I love to write characters' love stories and bring happiness and comfort in a time of unknown or brighten a day with a character's journey, I find myself bringing in elements of the real world and real problems to ground the stories I write. You'll catch my characters strolling through a fantasy world or dealing with a mystery occasionally as well. In my reading list(s), you'll find a plethora of romance, fantasy, with a dash of darkness and evolving character journeys. On a typical day, you'll find me holding a book by Keira Cass (The Selection Series or The Bothered duology), Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, or The Obsession by Nora Roberts.

MADI LEIGH writes fantasy. I've made myself at home in the strange and otherworldly, with characters who spit blood and act as brutal as their weapons, and a dash of romance to keep things interesting. In my reading list, titled "Leigh's Picks," you'll see a lot of dark fantasy in historical settings with angry characters. My favorite books are The Cruel Prince trilogy by Holly Black, Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones, and The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater.
