"Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pour through and shine down on us to let us know they are happy."

18|| Beauty And The Prince
----------------------------------------
--Tamaki POV--
I wonder where Ana went?
I look around the hall for that peach coloured hair but couldn't find it.
"Mister Suoh?" Abby says and I turn to her.
"I'm sorry, what did you say?" I smile apologetically.
She sighs. "It's fine. Is there something bothering you?"
"I was just wondering where the princess went." I say and a frown takes over her face, but she immediately covers it up with a smile.
"Mister Suoh... She is a princess and you... You maybe be wealthy but... I don't mean to offend you but to her... You are just another mere commoner." She says and I felt my heart pang.
She does have a point. Even if I am rich... I could never be with someone like Ana. She's too good for me.
"You do love her don't you?" Abby peers at my face.
I picture Ana in her dress and tiara... Her smile... Her laugh... Her hair... Her eyes...
"I do."
Abby nods with a small but noticeable frown on her face. "If you truly love her... You'll let her go."
Let her go... But... I don't want to let her go... I love her... Shouldn't I fight for her?
Abby curtsies and walks away.
Why is she telling me this?
I bite my bottom lip and stare down at the polished marble floor.
I need some air.
I take in a deep breath and excuse myself before walking out of the hall.
As I walk down the chilly and dark hallway, I hear a beautiful voice humming. "Where...?" I look around but see no one. My feet started to walk me towards the voice.
What the...?
I couldn't control myself. "What's going--" I stop when I see a figure standing in the balcony.
Was that Ana humming?
--Anakaia POV--
I hum as I lean against the railing and look up at the stars.
"What a sight."
I hear a soft voice say from behind. I stop humming and turn around.
"Oh... Tamaki." I let out a relieved breath.
He walks up next to me and smiles. I felt the blood rush to my face and I avert my eyes away from his. I look back up at the stars.
"They're beautiful..." I blurt out.
I felt his eyes on me. "Very..." He whispers.
I bite the inside of my cheek and turn to face him.
The sight in front of me was much more beautiful than the stars. Tamaki's arms were on the railing, his head was resting in his arms. The stars' reflection sparkled in his eyes as he gazes at me. He had a soft smile and his cheeks were pink.
"What is it?" I bite my lip.
Agh. Stupid Ana! Why did you say that?! So rude.
"Uh--" Just as I was about to correct myself, he cut me off.
"You're beautiful." Whispers sweetly.
My whole body heated up and I felt like squealing. I squeezed my hand.
"I--"
"I'm sorry." He blinked and stood straight up.
"F-for what?" I shake my head.
"It was disrespectful... You're a princess... A beautiful princess... And I am just a... commoner." He looks down.
Commoner?
"N-no... You're not a... Commoner... Well at least to me you aren't... You're more like... A prince charming or knight in shining armour..." I babble. The corners of his lips tug up. "Well you're more of a prince charming i'd say but a knight in shining armour is..." I finally realised what I was doing and stopped. "Uh..."
We look at each other before bursting out laughing.
"I'm sorry... I'm so silly." I say in between giggles.
"It's cute..." He says and I felt my cheeks burn but just kept giggling.
"Um..." Once we stopped giggling, we just stared at each other.
I felt my throat burn, craving his soul and I look away.
"So uhm... Thank you... For tonight." I mumble.
A look of hurt flashed in his eyes.
What was that?
"You're... You're welcome." He says and his shoulders droop slightly.
"You okay?" I place a hand on his shoulder and he looks up.
"Oh... I'm fine." He smiles reassuringly.
"So... We go back tomorrow night huh?" I change the subject.
"Yeah..." He answers.
"Excited to go back to music room 3?" I giggle and he beams.
"Yes!" He chuckles and throws his hands up.
"What the fuck?" I hear a voice say.
"I think they can hear us." Another voice says.
Me and Tamaki look at each other. "They were suppose to kiss man!"
Okay that was definitely Miya's voice.
I blush and so does Tamaki. "What are you guys doing?!" Tamaki runs over to the pillar. He kicks something behind it and the twins fall on top of each other before Miya walks out, brushing her sleeves.
"You guys were so loud!" Miya steps on top of them.
"No we weren't! It was you!" The twins say in unison.
I giggle.
They look up at Tamaki and back away. "You...!"
"Hey calm down boss!"
"We weren't eavesdropping! Or recording!" The twins put their hands up in defence. "It was all Miya!"
Miya, who was watching them with a smirk, frowns. "What?! Don't put this on me!" She stomps her foot. "Besides, what are you gonna do blondie?" She pokes Tamaki's forehead and he doesn't move. She gulps. "Daddddy." She tries again but he still doesn't move.
I'm watching them with my hand covering my mouth, trying to hold in my laughter.
"Oh shit." Miya bolts down the hallway "MUMMY!!!!!" She jumps onto Kyoya who was walking towards us.
"Mummy!" The twins do the same.
"Get back here!" Tamaki runs over to them and start to chase the three around Kyoya.
Odd... But I love it.
----------------
Me and Tamaki were walking down the hallway. The ball was still going but, we decided to call it a night. The others headed back to their rooms. As we walked, our shoulders would brush every now and then.
"Did you enjoy the... Ball?" Tamaki asks.
"I'm not sure." I shake my head and he chuckles.
"So tomorrow...?" He mumbles.
"Huh... Oh... Yeah, definitely." I nod and beam at the thought.
"Though... I think they'll be spying on us." Tamaki sighs.
I giggle. "Yeah..."
Silence. It was a comfortable silence. I could hear his breathing loud and clear.
Another one huh? 89 more days...
I look up Tamaki and stare at his face.
I have to.
I look away and bite my lip.
I'm so stupid! I should never have made that deal with him! Stupid!
I mentally punch myself. "Here you are." Tamaki stops in front of my room and opens the door.
"Why thank you."
"You're welcome, princess." He says and bows.
I giggle again for the hundredth time tonight. We just stood there, not knowing what to say or do next.
What do I do now?
"So uh... I had a great evening... Thank you." He smiles.
"Me too..." I purse my lips.
Tamaki takes my hand and plants a soft kiss on the back of my hand. "Goodnight princess." He smiles and turns around.
I held the hand he kissed to my chest and watched as entered his room, giving me one last smile before closing the door.
I felt my heart pang and I suddenly felt guilt.
"Did I do something wrong?" I close my door, locked it and sat on the edge of my bed. I stare down at my hand. The spot he kissed burned. It was turning red.
I sigh and laid back down.
Prince charming huh? A girl like me will be forever alone. But I only have 89 more days to 'live'. Turning? Same thing as dying... Only worse. 89 more days to be human... Feel emotions... Happiness... Anger...
What do I do? Should I just let it all out? Should I let my heart open up? Should I let myself...
Love.
I don't love him... No... It's not possible.
I scoff at the thought.
What do I know about love anyway? What's the point in love? All they ever do is lie and betray you... Being in love is horrible... I don't want to open up my heart... I don't want to let him in and mess me up.
But at the same time... I do. So badly... Oh how I want to so much...
I sob.
It hurts... It hurts to keep it all in... My heart aches at the thought of love... I just want to let it all out... I do want to know how being in love feels like.
89 more days...
Is it possible to fall in love within 100 days? Do I love him?
Even so...
This is real life... Reality... There is no such thing as a happily ever after in this story.
