It was true to Laura that in the past two weeks she had grown quite fond of Jareth. He was always around when she needed him though she wasn't sure how he was able to just appear out of nowhere. She had also managed to stay clear of the fake Sarah. That one wasn't as easy as others to avoid. It seems that 'Sarah' had many people or creatures trying to keep an eye on her. Still she managed to escape them whenever she could.

Sitting in the library, Laura kept her mind occupied with books about her old family. She didn't know how the books had gotten there but reading about her kingdoms past she began to learn how much power must be hidden deep inside of her. Hearing the doors to the library open she quickly stood from her seat and hid the book behind her. Peaking her head out and looking around she was shocked to see no one there. Then turning around, she came face to face with Jareth leaning down to her height.

"Enjoying the library?" he questioned her with a grin.

"Jareth...you scared me, I thought you might be Sarah." Laura replied honestly making him narrow his eyes at her. "A few of her minions chased me down into the garden yesterday, it wasn't an experience I ever want to repeat."

"Are you injured?"

Laura shook her head no and Jareth gently took her hand and led her out of the library. She had a clue as to where they were going but with Jareth she knew they could be going anywhere. Walking deep through the woods she knew she was right, they were going to her old home. Stepping inside the ruins of the old castle somehow made her feel safe and protected.

"Your mother casted a spell here the day you were born of protection, obviously it wasn't a strong enough one, but it will do for your training." Jareth commented as they walked further inside.

"Training for what?"

"You have a deep power hidden inside of you, I plan to help you bring it out." He answered as they made their way to the old throne room. "That symbol, the symbol of your family is what holds your power. Call out to it, it will answer to you."

"Then what? I destroy that creature claiming to be Sarah and then?"

"That I believe was told to us long ago, you cannot tell me that you do not feel the attraction between us Laura. It grows stronger by the day. When you think of me or even mention me there is a spark through the both of us." Jareth tells Laura as he walks right up to her and takes her hand. "When this is all over we will marry and rebuild your kingdom."

Laura watched Jareth intently and knew what he said was true, the connection they had was growing stronger and she wanted to be around Jareth increasingly. Pulling Laura into his arms he turned her to face where his kingdom was.

"We will rule the land, no one will ever harm you again Laura, I swear."

It was as though he were making a vow to her, one that she hoped he intended to keep. Jareth had instructed her on all he knew about his own magic in hopes that somehow her magic would work the same way. By the end of their training that day all she had managed to do was create a small shield, but still that was progress. Making their way back to the castle, Laura stopped and leaned against a tree, looking at the castle in the distance.

"Laura? What is it?" Jareth questioned coming up behind her.

"Ever since I came here I thought this was all a dream, I didn't question anything really, I just went along with what you said and now I can feel deep feelings starting to form that I have never felt before and to be honest Jareth, it scares me." Laura answered him as she looked behind her to meet his gaze.

"This is your home, it is only natural to feel connections grow here, this is where you belong." Jareth tried to comfort Laura as he gently caressed her cheek with his hand.

"I do not mean for the area Jareth, I mean for the people. I've known you my whole life like you said. In my dreams and heart, you were unattainable there. Now knowing this is all real it makes me question so many things." Laura said pulling away from Jareth. "I've had this power you claim and, yet I can only produce a small shield to protect me. I cannot explain in words what I feel but looking at you...I fear what I am beginning to feel for you."

"Do you feel hate or resentment towards me?"

"No, none of those things. I feel a feeling for you that should at least take months to feel. Not just a matter of weeks." Laura confessed as she walked towards the small lake where she remembered dancing with George.

George, in secret she had been talking with him and trying to learn more of what he knew about her people. She hoped that he wouldn't lie to her and she never had reason not to believe him. Going to the stream, Laura took of her flat shoes and put them beside her before dipping her feet in the water.

"You have known me far longer than just now Laura...what do you wish for me to do?" Jareth questioned as he walked to her side.

"I wish I knew, but something tells me I never will." Laura said as she closed her eyes unsure what to tell Jareth let alone herself.

There was to be a ball, one that would be celebrating the awakening of Jareth. They wouldn't have to celebrate it if that creature hadn't put him to sleep, but Laura wasn't allowed to say anything about that. Looking out of her window she watched as the small garden as being decorated. That way creatures could dance either inside in the ballroom or outside in the garden. With a sigh she tried her best to put any thoughts of Jareth or George away but that didn't last long. A quick knock came from her door and before she had the chance to say anything it opened and there stood George.

"Why aren't you ready?" George questioned as he looked down on her bed and saw her ball gown still upon it.

"I'm not going, let him be with Sarah and let them marry for all I ca- "I start but George comes to my side and quickly stops me.

"That isn't Sarah, I have told you this before. The real Sarah is dead, and she was just a girl who summoned him to take her brother away and beat him at his own game. He always compared every other Fae he met to you, not Sarah." George told me as he then stood up and grabbed my gown from the bed. "You must believe me Laura, you have more to offer him than any creature."

"So, I'm just a tool, what a great way to be thought of." I scoff as I take the dress from his hands. "Fine I will change and be there but please leave my room."

George nodded and left the room. Gripping the dress Laura began to wonder what was going on with her. In truth she feared that she had already lost her heart to Jareth and that when she saw him with another, even though it only happened a few times, it felt as though she had been stabbed right in the heart. Changing into her gown she took a deep breath before she left her room.

Never in her life had Laura been to a ball so she had no idea how to act or even how to dance at one. She began to question even going yet again but before she could talk herself out of it she was in the ballroom and there were dozens upon dozens of guests. She didn't think they looked much different from humans, but she also knew that looks could be deceiving. Turning her head to look to the middle of the crowd she saw Jareth and 'Sarah' dancing. Her hand went to her chest but only for a moment as another hand came and took hold of hers and led her to the dance floor.

Looking up Laura saw the mystery person was in fact George. He didn't waste time as he claimed the first dance with her. Placing their hands in the right position they began to dance just like everyone else in the room. Laura had no idea how she even knew the steps to the dance but decided it was best not to get the answer to that question, at least not yet.

"Your dress suits you quite well, looks like the lavender one you use to wear in the garden." George complimented her with a genuine smile.

"I thought the same thing, were you watching me in the garden as well?" she questioned.

"I've been your guardian for a time as well, I had to make sure you were well taken care of." He grinned as they continued to dance.

Jareth had seen Laura walk in but when he looked to that same spot again she was gone. 'Sarah' was still dancing contently in his arms, talking about something but he wasn't paying attention to her. Looking all around the ballroom he finally caught sight of Laura only to be in the arms of George...he had warned her before and now it was as though she were testing him. The song ended, he and 'Sarah' parted ways to entertain the guests. At least that is what Jareth told her, instead he followed Laura as she made her way out of the ballroom.

The party had already gone on for quite a while when Laura arrived and now it had begun to dwindle down. Making her way to the garden she saw that no one was there and felt relieved. Just when she began to relax she felt someone breathe on her neck as she froze.

"I warned you that I do not share..." Jareth whispered in her ear.

"Yet I must be forced to not only share but watch you in the arms of another." Laura spoke bravely as she turned and looked at Jareth.

"It is all an act until you and I can defeat her."

"Or is everything you speak a lie? You cannot tell me that I am what you want, you are just- "she started but was stopped again.

This time the goblin King stopped her himself but not with word, no with actions instead. Jareth had grabbed Laura and kissed her right there in the garden. Laura couldn't believe her eyes but what more she couldn't believe was that she was kissing him back. Pulling away from the kiss something stopped the both. Looking down both Jareth and Laura saw that their necklaces with their family emblems were entangled and both were glowing. Jareth's a purple color meanwhile Laura's was glowing a bright white.

"I will not let you leave me again, I was forced to give you up before, yet I stayed with you through your dreams. Do you know why I was the man in your dreams Laura?" he questioned her as he held her body close to his.

Laura calmly shook her head, still she showed no fear. Instead she wanted to know what he would say, and she listened intently.

"Because Laura, I am the man of your dreams weather I be Fae or not. I will be the only man of your dreams!" he answered with a smile as he leaned in and kissed her again.
