Sometimes my dreams weren't as pleasant as I preferred. Some dreams I would appear on the same hill but looking down to where the once beautiful garden was turned into nothing but a dead land. The sky was dark and cold. My once lavender dress that use to flow in the wind now replaced with a pale white dress, torn here and there and worn out. My long strawberry hair down and dirty as I looked out to the town I had never been to but now stood in ruins and frozen in time. Fear would strike me when I had this dream for I began to imagine about the man from my dreams. Where was he? Did the same thing that happen here happen to him? That would be the only logical thing to think wouldn't it?

Running down from the hill I ran deep into the garden. Everything was dead, the once beautiful flowers now dead and their petals scattered across the grounds. Looking around for any sign of life I turned from my left to my right only to find the same scene over and over again.

"He's trapped, it can't grow without him." A unknown male voice calls out to me and startles me.

Turning around I can't help but yelp as I see another well dressed man standing before me. He was tall and had dark mid length hair that was half tied up behind his head. His clothes were all black so I couldn't tell where he might have come from. Bringing my hand to my mouth to hold back any unwanted sounds my mouth produced I watched as he walked closer and closer to me until we were merely a few inches away from one another. Once in the light I could get a better look at him and he was handsome, there was no doubting that at all.

"Your friend is in more trouble than you can imagine Laura and your time here has grown shorter as you grow older. Soon it will be to the point where you cannot return." He tells me as he stands tall.

"What are you talking about and how do you know who I am?" I question as my hand drops from my mouth as I wonder how he knew all this information.

"Strange things happen here, you are one of the strangest, he spoke of you and Sarah quite often, often enough to be distracted by a spell...a spell by someone who claimed to be you." He tells me as we hear loud what sounds like sirens begin to go off. "Run! If they find you then you'll never wake up!"

The man yells and shoves me towards the tree that I could use to climb out of the garden. Turning towards the only other way out of the garden the man draws his sword and then looks back to me as I stand there stunned.

"I know you aren't deaf woman! Go I will find you then with a plan we can save him!" he yells and that jolts my body back to moving.

Climbing up the tree I try to avoid getting hurt in anyway. Getting to the top where I can look down and see the outside of the garden I hear metal hitting metal. Turning back I see the man begin to fight what appeared to be men covered in black paint but their armor was a dark red, almost the color of blood. He fought through the men, showing that he knew what he was doing and after cutting down the last from this first attack he looked back to the tree, to me.

"Laura, I beg of you jump, wake up and I will find you!" he calls out to me.

Before I have time to reply though another wave of those soldiers came and brought him to his knees in a fight. Knowing I would not be able to save him and seeing a few of those soldiers coming my way I close my eyes and jump off the tree.

Gasping I sit up in my bed. That was a dream that I had never dreamed before and it scared the living daylights out of me. Turning to look at my clock I can see it is four in the morning. Sighing I move to sit on the edge of my bed and look down at the floor. What just happened there? How could everything be dead...and the man or whatever Jareth was missing? Closing my eyes I dared to lay down again and hopefully not only lose track of time but not dream of that place again.

Knock, knock, knock.

I hear the knocks and my eyes instantly open. The room is filled with light, I'm still in my bedroom. Sitting up I run my fingers through my hair as I catch a glimpse of my clock. 10:42 am. Weird time to be woken up at but more than likely it was my sister worried about me as always. Though my neighbor did take my dress almost two days ago...

Walking to my door I don't bother looking out the hole and open the door. There stands George holding my dress in a plastic bag in his right hand and a cup of coffee in the other but his back was turned to me no doubt waiting for me to answer the door.

"George?" I question but also make sure I am a good distance away from him so I don't get coffee spilled on me again.

George jumps a bit but then turns around and smiles at me. Whew no coffee spilled this time. It was only now for some reason that I got a good look at George and for some reason he did remind me of someone, but I didn't know who. George pushed his glasses up with his free hand and smiled brightly at me.

"Peace offering?" he questioned as he looked to the things in his hand.

"Happily accepted, come in." I laughed as I held the door open and he walked inside.

Shutting the door behind us, I locked it just to be safe. Walking to George I watched as he put the coffee down on the kitchen counter then turned back to me and offered me my dress. Smiling I took it from him and examined where the stain had been but now it was no longer there.

"Whoever you took it to did an amazing job. Thanks." I say as I take the dress to my closet but come back to see George looking around the apartment. "Something wrong with the place?"

"What? Oh no, I just thought you lived with someone...you know like a boyfriend or something like that." George said as he scratched the back of his neck nervously.

"Clever way to find out if I am single or not. No George I don't have a boyfriend." I giggle as I walk past him to the fridge and pull out two drinks, walking back to George I hand him one. "I'll reheat the coffee in the morning but I prefer a soda right now, hope that's ok?"

George nods as he opens the soda and takes a drink from it. He doesn't seem to look away from me very much and that perks my interest. Wanting to know who he was and if maybe we had met before and I had forgotten I strike up the nerve to ask him.

"Ok, sorry to ask this but I think I need to. Have we met before?" I ask and wait impatiently for an answer.

George doesn't say anything at first but then he puts his soda on the counter. Turns to me and then walks up very close to me and then leans in as if he were going to whisper something to me. My body is frozen as I feel his body so close to mine. Then I hear his answer.

"Once upon a dream..." he answers and his voice automatically reminds me of the dream I just had. "Found you."
