Chapter 15
As the sun rose above the horizon, three people and their horses trek across the land. They had basically been travelling for a week straight, dodging all but one town, only stopping for supplies. They haven't been The Black Deaths since they finished off that village.
Thyra's arm was mostly healed, thanks to the Night Fury saliva, And had been training Donovan non-stop. Dusty had been teaching him how to shoot a bow, though he was nowhere as good as Dusty, he can still land an arrow with his bow, that Dusty crafted for him. Donovan had gained weight and some muscle with the training sessions, and could handle himself in a right now, though he always has bruises from the fights he's lost to bothe Thyra and Dusty, but mostly Thyra.
They slowed the horses as they approached the gates of their destination, the town of Dannia. Guards stood posed outside, weapons sharp and at the ready.
"Hi." Thyra greets them as the group stop in front.
"Who are you, and why are you here?"
"My name's Ulfar, this is Fastvi." he gestured to Thyra. "And this is Asvard." he gestured to Donovan. We're here to charter a ship."
"Uh, go ahead, I'm ready for my lunch break." The guard waved them in.
Thyra leads the group in, rolling her eyes at Dusty when the guards can't see her. "Slacker." She mutters.
"From the way I've seen it so far, all your people are slackers." Dusty said back, taking lead toward the docks.
Thyra chuckles, nodding in agreement. "Let's find us a ship..." she trails off, looking at a poster nailed to a post. She goes over and rips it down, scanning it furiously.
"Look." She hisses, handing it to Dusty. "It's happening tomorrow at noon!"
Dusty looked down at the man and woman sketched onto the poster, both sceduled to be executed for treason. But what really caught his eye, was how the woman looked, she looked just like Thyra.
"Are these...your parents?" Dusty asked in a whisper.
Thyra just gives a sharp nod, scanning around them.
"That means your uncle must have done his coup, we'll have to be really careful about what we say." Dusty whispered, tucking the poster in his satchel.
"Yeah. Lay low." Thyra agrees.
"Let's go get a ship, then we'll talk about this, you got the gold in your satchel?" Dusty asked, re-mounting Blackwater.
Thyra mounts Misty swiftly. "Yeah, I do."
They head down towards the docks, which has at least a dozen ships docked, from small fishing vessels, to dragon hunter ships. The only ship that looked like it could hold the horses and dragons, that wasn't a Hunter ship, was a decent sized longboat sitting at the end of the farthest pier. The three dismounted and walked aboard the ship, which had one man aboard trying to clean up a pile of fish that had fallen over.
"Hello" Dusty greeted the man.
"How are you sir?" the man asked, finishing his task.
"Doing fine, could I ask who we speak to about chartering this ship?"
"That would be me, where are you going?" The man asked.
"The island of Berk in the viking archipelago." Dusty responded.
"Well, haven't been there in a few months, and I have some cargo to deliver there anyway, so I'd say for you three, fifty gold total, any animals coming with you?"
"Yes, we have our three horses."
"Ok then, your total will have to be one hundred twenty-five gold."
Dusty gestured to Thyra, and she counted out the gold, and handed it to him.
"I will be ready by tomorrow morning, you want to bring your horses aboard now?"
"Might as well, too high of a risk of them getting stolen in town." Dusty said
They lead the horses on board, following the man to where they can keep them. And headed back into town.
"So I say we stay in an inn tonight, and get a good meal before we're stuck on that ship for who knows how long."
"Agreed." Thyra nods. "A hot meal sounds perfect."
They find an inn, only a few dozen feet away from the main hall, and they get two rooms for the night, Donovan in one Dusty and Thyra in the other.
As the sun set, they sat in the main room, eating a hot dinner alone.
"So, we head over to the jail house, bust your parents out, and high tail it out of here." Dusty explains.
"Sounds like a plan." Thyra nods. "We'll have to work fast."
"I know, and we'll have the whole town on us when we do it." He says, just as three hunters walk in, and took a seat not to far from them
"Can't believe we actually caught one." said one
"You better, do you know how much we're gonna get paid for that beast?" said a second.
Probably a fortune, no one has ever caught a Night Fury before.
That knocked the air out of Dusty, Thyra, and Donovan.
"You guys actually caught one?" Dusty asked the hunters
"Yeah we did, sitting on our ship, that girl put up one heck of a fight." said the second one.
"We're selling her tomorrow night, you three interested?"
"No thanks, I'll leave it to the experts." Dusty said, turning back to his meal, his eyes trying to slit.
Thyra clutches her folk dangerously hard, and has to suppress her breathing while the hunters walk away, bragging about their catch.
They finish their meals, and headed to their rooms, Thyra laird on the bed as Dusty took the couch
"Now we have to rescue your parents and a dragon." Dusty said, laying on the couch.
He looked over to see Thyra asleep, or looked to be asleep.
He let out a small chuckle. "She's cute when she's sleeping." He said out loud
"He's cute when he's blind," Thyra laughs, smirking over at him.
"Do you always have to ruin the moment." He asked laying his head down.
"I find it amusing," Thyra shrugs with a grin.
"You know you love me." Dusty says back.
Thyra laughs. "Yeah, maybe I do." She rolls over to face him, "And you know it."
"Oh I do know it, the question is, do you?" Dusty asked with a chuckle.
"I don't know, maybe we can find out." Thyra smirks.
Dusty stared at her, not knowing what she meant. Thyra laughs, getting up and approaching him. Before he can react she drags him towards the bed and pushes him onto it, laughing.
Dusty didn't know what was happening, "Uh, why do you want me in the bed?" He asked.
Thyra shrugs. "Dunno." She grins at him. She sinks down next to him. "Maybe to...do this?" She leans forward and kisses him.
Dusty takes a second to register what she's doing, before returning the kiss.
After a few seconds, they pull back, trying to catch their breath.
"Wow, that was a first." Dusty said, breaking the silence.
"That's one way to put it." Thyra responds with a laugh.
"You're the first person I've ever kissed." He said, looking into her ocean blue eyes.
"Same here." Thyra replies. "So I'm going to assume that was alright for a first kiss."
Dusty answered by pulling her into another kiss, and wrapped his arms around her.
Thyra blinks in surprise before relaxing into the kiss, and when they break apart she has a hint of a blush. Because she doesn't know what else to do, she socks him in the shoulder.
Dusty rubbed his now bruised shoulder, "was that necessary?" He asked her.
"No." She replies smiling. "But I can't resist doing it."
Dusty let out a small chuckle as she rested her head against his chest, and slowly fell asleep. Dusty watched her for a few minutes before putting his head against hers, "I'll always be here for you, and I'll always protect you." He whispered, and he fell asleep.
They woke up the next morning, still in each other's arms, and quickly got up and dressed.
"If you wanna head downstairs, I'll grab D and meet ya in about five minutes." He said, pulling his boots on.
"Sounds good," Thyra replies heading for the door. "I'll be the one in the corner beating someone up." She jokes, walking out.
"Don't beat them up too badly." Dusty says under his breath, then reconsiders, "What am I talking about, it's Thyra, she'll do it anyway."
Thyra headed downstairs and took a seat by the door, listening in on all the people around her. They were all talking about one thing: her parents' execution.
A man walked in that looked real familiar, and not in a good way.
Thyra's body acted before her brain caught up, she turned away from the man and did her best to blend into the crowd, her thoughts racing. She knew who it was. It was her Uncle.
"Everyone! Could I have your attention please?" He asked, and everyone turned to listen."I am here to announce that today's execution is being rescheduled, it will begin in thirty minutes." some men cheered at the words. "I have also come to have a friend of mine look around the place, Eret, Son of Eret."
Eret walked in, as glamorous he could be.
"I have received a few reports from the locals, reporting three suspicious characters, going by the names of Ulfar,Fastvi, and Asvard. Who are actually an escaped slave and two traitors." Thyra's uncle continued.
Thyra's eyes widen. They knew. She subtly scanned around the room for exits, but leaving now would be way too suspicious anyway.
"Their real names are Dusty, Donovan, and Thyra, daughter of todays condemned." a gasp went through the crowd.
"You told us she was dead!" Said one man
"You said she put a sword in her chest!" Said another.
Thyra silently rolled her eyes. As if she would use a sword.
"I know, I know, but I was fooled, she faked her death so she could have greater reach for her treasonous actions."
"How could she have faked that?" A voice rings out.
Thyra's Uncle snapped his fingers, and an arrow silenced the voice.
"Anyone else want to ask? No? Good, Captain Eret, find these three." Thyra's uncle ordered, before walking out.
Eret, accompanied by two guards, moved through the crowd, checking everyone's face, with a much more accurate sketch of the three.
Thyra's eyes darted around, trying to come up with a solution. If her uncle caught her, no good would come of it. And where were Dusty and Donovan? Hopefully they stay in their rooms.
"Hello mam, could I please see your face?" Asked an all to familiar voice behind her, Eret.
Thyra winced, not moving. But a hand subtly slipped towards a hidden dagger, clutching it slowly.
"Mam?" Eret repeated a little less patiently.
Thyra quickly turned around and stabbed him in the side, before leaping backwards over the counter. "I knew we should have killed you."
The two guards converted on her, and managed to grab her arm with the daggur, and knock it away. They grabbed her shoulders, and threw her to the ground, and tied her wrists together with some rope.
She didn't make it easy for them, kicking and moving around at any chance she got, which served them a few injuries, but it led to no escape, as they pinned her to the ground.
"You little..." Eret managed to say through the pain in his side. "Your gonna pay for this."
Thyra just glares at him, eyes threatening to slit. "Should have killed you as soon as we got your father." Is all she hisses.
"Well you just wait till we haul you to the jail house with your two friends, I'll kill them slowly, right in front of you. Them me and my men are gonna have some fun with you, before they execute you like the beasts you and your parents are."
Thyra scoffs, eyes slit. "You will do no such thing, you filthy thing. And you won't get my friends."
She silently hears two sets of boots coming downstairs, obviously trying to be silent.
"But, you're forgetting one thing..."
"And what would that be?" Eret asked
She heard two bow strings being pulled back.
"I have a boyfriend."
"Ha, who would date you?" Eret asked
"Someone as crazy as I am."
Two arrows flew into the room, and dropped both guards, "And that person would be me." came a growl from the stairs.
Donovan kept his bow on Eret, as Dusty knelt down and cut her loose, "You ok?" He asked her, his eyes as slited as they could get.
"Yep." She gets up, sending her own bone-chilling glare at Eret the whole time. "But this isn't over." She draws out a throwing knife.
"He's yours, but we still have to get your parents, so don't take too long." He said, shouldering his bow.
"Alright. And in case you didn't know, the execution was moved up. So we have to work fast." Thyra replies, before turning towards Eret with a deadly glint in her slit eyes.
"You'll never win! Witness this people, she's not the sweet and smart heir you thought she was, she's a cold blooded killer!" Eret yelled to the crowd.
"Oh no, I never was. And the moment I was made a slave by my own family just unleashed it." She glances at the crowd. "I wouldn't want to lead a bunch of cowards like you anyway. Never did." She turns back to Eret, her grip on her knife shifting. "I guess I don't need anything more to defeat you with. You're a sloppy fighter."
The room was silent.
"Thyra, catch." Dusty tossed her her weapons, and had her armor. Dusty and Donovan already had theirs on.
"Oh, cool!" Thyra grins, clutching her staff and just chucking on the helmet, because it's not like Eret would just sit there and let her put the rest on. "You've just signed your death warrant." She walks slowly towards Eret.
"Kill em Thyra, he's one of the reasons Dannia is collapsing!" Yelled an unknown voice.
"Glad to know some of you still have reasonable thoughts." Thyra exclaims, before spinning and attacking Eret. The blade makes contact with his shoulder, but only a scrape because he uses his sword to push it away.
"You're going to fall at my feet." Eret growls, lunging at her with his sword. She back peddles to dodge it, before ducking away from a second attempt. She smirks and stabs his arm with a throwing knife.
"No. I seriously doubt it." Thyra replies.
Another guard walked through the front door, but dropped from an arrow in his chest, earning a number of screams outside.
"You see? We're not a bunch of inexperienced kids." Thyra points to the dead man, before ruthlessly attacking Eret again. "We're The Black Deaths." She swings and knocks Eret right off his feet, but he blocks her next blow with his sword, trying to get to his feet.
"Funny. That's all I see." He snarls.
"D get us a way out of here, I'll stay up here." Dusty said to Donovan, who gave the affirmative.
Eret and Thyra continued to fight as hard as they could. Thanks to Thyra's reflexes, she was able to dodge a lot of his hits, but he was experienced too, so he managed to dodge some deadly strikes. "Why even serve my uncle? Or is this some revenge thing cause of your father?" Thyra asks as she attacks him.
"You know why I'm after you." Eret says as Thyra blocks another swing
"But surely you'd have grown a brain since the last time we met? Realised it was a death wish? I guess you really are as stupid as I thought." Thyra smirks, knocking him down to the ground once again.
"I want two similar but different objects from you two, the two beasts you picked up on that Thor forsaken island." He said, getting his feet back under him.
"Oh, you mean the Night Fury's?" Thyra laughs mockingly, slicing his arm with her dagger. "Yeah, a man can dream, eh?"
"I'm still trying to figure out how you tamed those beasts." He says, kicking Thyra to the ground, knocking her staff out of her hands. "But I guess I'll never find out." He raised his sword.
"Want a step-by-step guide?" Is all she asks, rolling out of the way, and using her legs to swipe him to the ground. "Yeah, I guess you will never know," she plants her foot on his throat harshly, pulling his own sword out of his grip and pointing it at him.
All Eret does is give her a death glare, "You're a useless slave, full of savagery, you live savagely, and you will die savagely."
"I'm only a slave because I was stolen from what I thought was my home. Savage? I prefer spirited." Thyra lifts the sword up, ready to strike.
"I curse you Thyra! I curse your family! And I curse your Dragons! I'll see to it that you are all killed mercilessly!" Eret yells in defiance.
Thyra laughs sarcastically. "Oh no, I'm so cursed."
"See you in helheim." She slams the sword down hard, and jams it right through his heart.
Dusty walk up, and puts a hand on her shoulder, "You better now?"
She grins and nods. "Much. Now, let's go." She shoots a glare at the crowd. "Don't even try to stop us, because I assume you would rather life."
Donovan came running down the stairs, "I got an exit, but we need to go, I counted three dozen guards headed this way!"
"Alright, let's move quickly." Thyra nods, gathering her weapons and throwing on the rest of her armour in a heartbeat.
The owner of the inn stopped them on the stairs, "If you ever need a place to lay low here in Dannia, just let me know." He whispered to them.
Thyra nods. "Thank you. We'll keep that in mind." She gestures for D to lead the way.
They jump out of the back of the inn through a second-story window, to a surprisingly empty street.
"They must be waiting for the execution." Thyra suggests, looking around suspiciously.
"Must be, but I don't want to hang around to find out." Dusty says, unshouldering his bow and knocking an arrow
"I'm right with you there." Thyra nods.
"Now remember, if things go south, Dragon call, our friends will get us out of there." Dusty reminded her as they neared the center of town.
"Yep."
Dusty looks up at the roof of the building next to him, "I'll provide overwatch, you and D go get your parents."
"Alright. Come on, and move quickly." Is all Thyra says before taking off along the street.
Dusty climbed onto the roof, and had a perfect view of the town square, where a stage has been erected with a chopping block, beheadment was the form of execution around here. He didn't see anyone on stage, save for the two guards.
Thyra and Donovan eventually made it to the square, but hid behind a house. "We have to wait until we see them." Thyra whispers. "But the moment we do, we pounce."
Thyra's Uncle comes onto the stage.
"Citizens of Dannia, thank you for coming to witness this glorious event, where we did this nation of treason and tyranny, the treason that King Hallad and Queen Abi have committed, their Daughter, Princess Thyra is still at large, but do not be afraid, I have men already on her trail." Thyra's Uncle starts.
"Princess." Thyra mocks quietly. "They should be very afraid."
"I don't see you as a princess." Says Donovan.
"Thanks," Thyra grins, activating her crossbow-shield and loading a bolt silently.
"Citizens, I present your former King and Queen." He says as the man and woman from the poster are hauled onto the stage, and the woman is immediately placed on the chopping block.
"Any last words Queen Abi?"
"Only that your a Son of a Half Troll Mud Eating Son of a *****" She screamed
"Wow, your like your mother in many ways." Donovan said to Thyra.
"Yeah, I learnt from the best." Thyra smirks, taking aim with the crossbow.
"Well your majesty, enjoy Helheim, whenever your ready executioner."
A man with a two-handed sword walked up to the block, and raised the sword.
Thyra didn't hesitate to fire at him, and the bolt sailed right through the air, and embedded itself in his arm. Her eyes widened. She was aiming for his heart...
Another arrow sailed through the air, and embedded itself in the mans' neck.
Thyra breathes a sigh of relief, making a mental note to thank Dusty when this was over. She loaded another bolt and watched her uncle's shocked face as the body dropped.
Screams ran through the crowd as Dusty dropped another guard.
Thyra's Uncle pulled his sword out, and turned to Hallad, Thyra's father, and his brother.
Thyra immediately fired, and the bolt embedded itself in Thyra's Uncle's side, but it unfortunately wasn't enough, he drew his arm back, and ran his sword through her father's chest, just as one of Dusty's arrows hit him in the back.
"No..." Thyra mutters, taking in the scene. "No, No! This...no. Dad..."
An arrow flies inches past her face, bringing her back to reality, and she watches her uncle stumble away, supported by two guards.
"I'll kill him." She growls.
Her mother is dragged off the block by a guard, and thrown to the ground, the guard raised his axe.
Thyra's gaze hardens, and she fires at the guard, she wasn't going to let it happen to her mother too. The arrow landed in the guards neck, effectively cutting off his efforts.
"Thyra! I'll give you cover! Get to her now!" She heard Dusty yell from his position.
Thyra took off through the crowd, shoving away or killing anyone who got in her way that weren't already finished by Dusty. She made it to her mum, pulling her up.
"Thyra." Her mum breathes.
"I'm sorry, I—" Thyra's apology is cut off when Abi sees something behind Thyra.
"Thyra! Behind you!" She hears Dusty yell.
Without thinking twice, Abi turns them around, and takes the arrow that was meant for Thyra.
"Mum!" Thyra shouts as her mother stills, and the guard drops from an arrow in his head.
"It's not your fault..." Abi smiles. "Keep fighting... I know you can finish this... I'll always love you..." She took one last breath, and stilled, the light in her eyes gone.
Dusty jumps down off the roof, and rushes over to her, as the crowd dispersed and makes a run for it.
"Thrya, I'm...I'm Sorry...I...tried to be quicker." He tried to tell her as her eyes slited more than ever before.
She looks at him silently, before getting up from her mother's body. "No... let's just go..." she storms past him, searching for her uncle.
"Thyra, I want to go after your Uncle as much as you do, but we need to go." Dusty says, closing her mother's eyes.
She clenches her jaw. "...Fine." She growls. "But if I see him before then, I'm killing him."
"Where's D?" He asked, looking around.
Thyra looks around. "I don't know. He better meet us at the boat."
"The only thing worst then two mad and crazy sixteen year olds, is one thirteen year old." Dusty tried to joke.
"Yeah..." she says halfheartedly, before walking towards the docks, pointing a weapon at anyone who so much as looks at her.
They almost arrived, when they heard the familiar roar of a Night Fury, coming from the docks
They exchange a look, before taking off at a run.
"Is he even crazier than I thought he was?" Dusty asked as they jumped aboard the hunter ship, to see a Night Fury placing its snout in Donovan's outstretched hand.
"Apparently so." Thyra mutters.
The Night Fury was pitch black all around, except for the tail fins, back spines, and wing membranes, which were a dark, almost black, blue. She had a white scar going across her head, that looked like a lightning bolt, that started above and behind her right eye, and goes down to her snout.
"I see we've taught you well." Thyra speaks up as they pull away from the bonding moment.
The fury drops into a defensive position and growls at them, putting her wing up to shield Donovan. "Um, hi." is all Donovan says.
"May I ask why you ditched us?" Dusty asked
"Thyra ran to her mother, and I didn't want to get caught in the crossfire, so I came over here to free this girl." he said giving the fury a scratch on the neck, which she gave a small purr.
"Alright. Well we have to go. Your new friend might even want to come along with us." Thyra says.
Dusty looked toward the south, and gave a Night Fury roar. "Alright you two, we need to go before the guards catch up with us."
Thyra nodded in agreement, letting out a short call of her own, and scanned the sky.
It wasn't long before two black streaks appeared on the horizen, and landed on the deck. Pulse and Dark immediately started sniffing the new Fury
"Passed up for the new one." Thyra cracks a joke, crossing her arms jokingly.
Pulse sniffed the air, then looked towards Thyra, she made a sad warble and put her head up against her, as if she knew what had happened.
"How do you...never mind I don't care. Thanks, girl." She hugs her dragon's head gratefully. "But we have to get out of here quickly."
Dusty mounted Dark and they took off toward the ship, sails down and ready to sail.
"You two coming or what?" Dusty called back
Pulse playfully pushed Thyra onto her back, before taking off, nervous first time fliers Donovan and his new friend following.
They landed on the deck of the ship, scaring the life out of the captain, "What in the name of Thor?"
"Oh...hey?" Thyra greets sheepishly. "We forgot to mention this one, tiny detail..."
"Ya think? If I was any other captain I'd throw you off this ship, though I doubt I could." The captain said
"Well, we're going to Berk anyway so...it can't be too bad, if we're correct." Thyra says.
"Berk will be enthusiastic, especially when they hear Toothless isn't the only Night Fury alive anymore, Hiccup might die from happiness." The captain says, bringing the anchor up and getting the ship away.
"Well, then this will be interesting." Thyra nods.
"You better get comfortable, we have to stop at one island before we hit Berk, and that's a good week away. I have cabins below deck and the dragons can stay up here."
Instead of heading right for the cabins, Thyra walks with Pulse to the front of the ship. She leans on the railing as her mind races over the events just gone. Pulse coo's sadly when she sees her friend's hands tighten until her knuckles are white. Thyra sighs and looks out towards the horizon in front of them.
"Why couldn't I be quicker, girl?" Thyra asks Pulse. "Why did my aim slip? My parents could have still been alive. But I failed them both."
"If anyone's to blame it's me." Dusty said, leaning on the failing next to her, "I should have shot quicker."
Thyra scoffs. "No, you were only providing back up. They were right there, and I still couldn't save them." She keeps her gaze ahead. "This is my fault and we all know it, so don't try to take the blame."
Pulse warbles lowly, pushing into Thyra's side as she tries to comfort her. "I... they were still alive all this time. Just to die as soon as I get here. Because I couldn't save them." A tear slips down, and she does nothing to hide it, even as more come. "I should have acted quicker. Before his speech. It should have been the first thing I done when we got to Dannia."
"If you would have shot before he finished, the only achievement would have been him dead, and they might have just killed your parents anyway." Dusty said, trying to help her
"Not if I could expose them to his lies. Help them realise the mistake they made. Then Mum and Dad would regain control over this place, and lead like they did before all this."
"I don't know the right answer Thyra, all we can do now is head to Berk, and make a plan from there, but at least you still have Pulse, and us." He said, giving Dark a scratch.
Thyra turns and gives a small smile. "That's the way it'll stay. I'm not going to let anything happen to any of you so long as I can help it." She strokes Pulse, who purrs, mentally promising the same.
"If anything's gonna happen, it's gonna happen to me, I'm not gonna let anyone lay another hand on you." Dusty said, looking out at the ocean.
"Sorry buddy, the only pain you will be feeling will be inflicted by this." She demonstrates by punching his shoulder. "But thank you, for that." She pauses. "And, for everything."
She looks out to the ocean, and breathes in a shaky breath, and when she exhales, another tear falls down.
"You ok?" Dusty asked, noticing the tear.
"I will be, eventually." She replies. "I'm just going to focus on the rest of our plan, and then I'm going to come up with four hundred different ways to torture dear old Uncle."
"I can help you make it a thousand." He said, putting his arm around her.
She smiles and leans into him. "I'd like that. As long as you're not squeamish!" She jokes.
Dusty laughs, "Let's get you a cabin."
"I was...actually thinking of staying up here with Pulse. Care to join us?" She asks, patting Pulse with one hand. "We haven't spent much time together lately."
"Sure, what could go wrong, but let's get our armor off first, this isn't comfortable to sleep in." Dusty pointed out.
"That is a good idea," Thyra nods. "By the way, never say 'what could go wrong' because everyone knows you should never say that."
"Now you're superstitious?" He joked, taking his helmet off.
"No, just normal." She replies, removing her armour. "Well, as normal as I can get..." she adds as a second thought.
Dusty pulled the rest of his armor off, and set it to the side, and sat down next to Dark.
Thyra leaned against Pulse's side. "By the way, where did Donovan and his new friend get to?" She asks, glancing around.
"Look up." Said a voice above them.
They looked up, to see Donovan and the other fury sitting on the top of the mast.
"It's official. He's as crazy as us." Thyra says, setting her armor to the side.
"So, you laying with Pulse?" Dusty asked, leaning his head against Dark's side.
Thyra shrugs. "Yeah," she strokes her head. "She and I are having a bonding moment," she jokes, seeing Pulse more interested in a bug.
Dark warbled something to Pulse, who turns her attention back to them, and she warbled back. They both get up, causing both Thyra and Dusty to fall back. They picked them up and layed down in a U, with their tails making the lower end, and placed Dusty and Thyra together in the middle.
"I see how it is." Thyra jokes.
"Apparently they like us together." Dusty said, looking at Dark and Pulse's dragon smirk.
"Traitor." Thyra laughs at Pulse.
"Well, we might as well get used to it." Dusty said, getting comfortable.
"Yeah." Thyra nods in agreement, also getting comfortable next to him.
"Thyra, What do we do after we take out your uncle?" Dusty asked
"I haven't thought that far." Thyra replies. "Do you have any ideas?"
"Not a clue, but one thing's for sure." Dusty answered
"Yeah? What's that?" Thyra asks him.
He turned and looked at her, his forest green eyes staring into her ocean blue, "It'll be with you."
She smiles at him. "That sounds like a great idea to me."
They pull closer together as Dark gives pulse a small warble, and they covered them with their wings.
"And with these guys, we'll be fine." Thyra adds, patting Pulse's side in the dark.
Who responds by shoving her into Dusty.
"Wow. Just wow." Thyra says as she straightens up.
"It ain't that bad." Dusty says, and is quickly knocked into Thyra by Dark.
Thyra laughs, and grabs his arm, pulling him to her, and just a glance told them what to do.
They pulled into a kiss.
