Wedding Day [Part 2]

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

It was as if time went by in a flash. It was the moment everyone was waiting for. Jungkook remembered being busy the entire morning helping Taehyung's sister prepare for the wedding. The lobby was now a dining hall, with the center empty for dancing. There were so much to do, that the time went by so fast for Jungkook. He barely even saw Taehyung. Well, not until he and Taehyung had to walk through the red carpet.

Oh right! I'm gonna walk the red carpet too! Jungkook suddenly realized, dashing to the preparation room. Hurriedly, the boy entered the men's bathroom to adjust his hair one last time until he spotted Taehyung as they eye contacted for the first time the entire day.

"Oh, hey." Jungkook greeted, not used to not seeing the older for more than half a day. It was insane how often they see each other ever since he moved in to Taehyung's house.

Taehyung nodded his head to greet back as they both awkwardly stared at the mirror, styling their hairs, making sure they looked perfect for the big moment.

Jungkook sensed the awkward atmosphere as he started. "So... we're walking the red carpet too, huh."

"Yeah." Taehyung replied shortly before the atmosphere got quiet again.

The younger sensed Taehyung adjusting his glasses, giving an unsatisfied look through the mirror at himself. Breaking the silence once again, the younger started. "M-maybe you could try taking them off?"

Taehyung shot his eyes at Jungkook through the mirror, a little shocked. "My glasses?"

"Not that it looks better." Jungkook quickly said, defending. "I'm just curious to how you'd look." The younger remembered what Taehyung's mom had told him about Taehyung's habit of wearing glasses to prevent people from getting attracted to his looks. Though, Jungkook believed Taehyung should be able to wear or take off the glasses whenever he wanted to.

"Alright. But promise me one thing, Jungkook."

"Yeah?"

"Don't, get too immersed or whatever."

"You're kind of too late to warn me that...but okay, I promise." Jungkook mumbled quietly.

Taehyung took off is specs. Throughout the whole way, Jungkook was silent. "Jungkook?"

Jungkook blinked, unable to take in his face. Don't get me wrong, Taehyung was already handsome to Jungkook with his glasses. But with his face bare, it took things to a whole new level. His light eyes delicate, unique, unreal. Like what the hell are the color of his eyes? And then at last matching with the rest of his face, his nose, his sharp jaw. Perfection. A perfectly sculpted face, breathing in front of him. For the first time, Jungkook understood what it meant to be starstruck yet fearful all in the same moment.

"Wow- pretty." Jungkook blurted, smiling shyly.

The older couldn't help but grin back at the little one's compliment. "You broke your promise, didn't you?"

"W-what? No! Did I stare? No! Did I stutter? N-no!" Jungkook tore his eyes away, pretending to fix his own hair.  After a while the younger glanced back at Taehyung, realizing he was looking right back at him for a while as if he was waiting for a response.  Jungkook continued.  "Just... do whatever you feel.  If you feel uncomfortable wearing glasses then don't wear them... That's my suggestion."

Taehyung nodded in understanding.  "Okay.  I guess I'm not wearing them today, then."  He reached out an arm, inviting Jungkook.  "Are you ready to walk the red carpet?"

Jungkook snorted.  "You sound like we're the ones getting married.  Yeah, ready as I'll ever be."

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

"Presenting the best man, Kim Taehyung, and his partner, Jeon Jungkook."

Jungkook felt him palms sweat from the booming sound of their names.  It was almost as if he was the one getting married, ridiculous as it seems.  The music started to play in the background as he and the older walked slowly in pace, arm in arm.  To his shock, familiar faces were looking back at him.

It was Jimin, Jin, Namjoon, and Yoongi.  What are they doing here?

Taehyung, who noticed Jungkook's visible shock, whispered in his ear.  "I invited them.  Thought you'd want some company."

Jungkook let out a nervous laugh in response.  Truly, he was thankful Taehyung did so, but all he could think about in his head was trying not to trip and fall on the read carpet.  His grip on Taehyung's arm tightened a little.  Everything was a blur to Jungkook.  In fact, for a whole moment, the younger forgot about pretending the lie that he was a couple with Taehyung.  After all, what's more important is supporting Taehyung's sister and having the time of their lives.

The wedding march played, snapping Jungkook out of his thoughts as he gasped at Taneeya in a strikingly beautiful wedding dress.  The lights from the chandelier reflected in her eyes, shining.  A nervous but excited smile grew on her lips as she looked at Leon at the end of the carpet.  Jungkook felt the love radiating between the two, subtly wishing to himself he'd get that moment someday.

Jungkook glanced at Taehyung, realizing his eyes were watery.  Or... perhaps it was just the way his eyes were naturally sparkly.  Or was he really tearing up...?

"And do you take this man as your husband?" The priest continued as Jungkook snapped back into the ceremony.

"I do." Taneeya responded, eyes glued at her one and only lover.

"Then I present you, husband and wife. You may kiss."

The crowd clapped as Taneeya and Leon shared a kiss. Relieved that the wedding went smoothly, Jungkook's let his mind go easy and relaxed on the dining area with Taehyung beside him. Dinner was probably the most elegant and royal Jungkook has ever experienced. It was kind of like Jack experiencing the high class food in Titanic, there were tons of layers of utensils and the food were extremely mouth watering. It was nothing like what Jungkook had tasted before.

Once in a while, Taehyung would sneak a word to Jungkook to remind him of the "high class traditional Korean mannerism".

Taehyung held on Jungkook's arm on the table, which the younger jolted in surprise.  "What?"

"You're leaning your arm on the table." Taehyung whispered, gently tugging the boy's arm down under the table.

"Oh.  Sorry." Jungkook apologized, realizing it was probably rude.  He caught several glares from the elderly ladies.  Jungkook started on the entree, getting a glance from Taehyung's mother.

Taehyung, who caught his mother's glance, whispered at Jungkook again.  "You're using the wrong utensils.  You start from the outer layer and then work your way to the middle."

"S-sorry." Jungkook stuttered in embarrassment, switching his silverware.  The boy cursed at himself, wishing he studied before coming to these sort of events.

"It's fine.  We had these stuff brainwashed in our heads when we're little." Taehyung joked, trying to make the younger feel better.

As if time went by really fast, dinner time was already over and the music started playing in full volume.  People were starting to get up for a dance, while some remained standing in the side watching.  Obviously, Taehyung chose to stand as dancing was never his thing.  Jungkook followed, knowing it was probably better to avoid dancing and embarrassing himself even further.

The boy got up after the older, as the two faced to face each other for the first time in a while.  Taehyung eyes traveled to the boy's suit pocket, a weird expression on his face as if something was off.

"Wh-what's wrong?" Jungkook ran his fingers through his suit pocket, only for the older to stop him.

"Um... I'll fix it." Taehyung scooted his seat closer to Jungkook as the younger's body heated in further embarrassment.  The older's slender fingers reached his suit pocket, adjusting the square handkerchief inside.  Their faces were uncomfortably close as the younger felt Taehyung's subtle breath on his neck while he was focusing. Jungkook took several breaths, looking away shyly.

Finally, after what seems to be the longest few minutes of Jungkook's life, Taehyung scooted back and took one final look.  "Yup.  That should be fine now."

"Thanks... " Jungkook was a little embarrassed as he wasn't used to the high class life style, but it was a relief Taehyung was there to catch him whenever he made a mistake.

In many ways, Jungkook felt better with Taehyung. It was uncomfortable that Jungkook kept getting looks from the upper class people, but Taehyung never gave him that eye. Instead, he read people's thoughts and whispered them to Jungkook just to make the boy laugh. "That guy's on tinder in the middle of a wedding. Lame."

Jungkook covered his mouth from laughing. "You're kidding!"

"No I'm not. And that woman over there is definitely considering a divorce with her husband."

"No way!"

"Yes way." Taehyung continued. "Oh, that explains."

"What is it?" Jungkook eyes rounded in curiosity.

"That woman's husband just so happens to be the guy on tinder. No wonder she wants a divorce.  I'm surprised they even had the effort to dress and attend a wedding together."

Jungkook bursted a laugh, causing some people to stare at them. Jungkook hid his head embarrassingly, hitting Taehyung on the shoulder lightly. "Tae... stop!" He giggled some more.

Suddenly, from the dancing crowd, Taneeya approached Jungkook with her hand out.  Jungkook realized she had switched to a more comfy white dress, a knowing grin on her face.  Jungkook shot a confused glance at her.

"You two, dance." She said as waltz music was playing, tugging Jungkook and Taehyung's hand as they headed to the dance floor. All the songs in the world. Why did it have to be waltz?

Jungkook sensed Taehyung attempting reading his mind. For the first time, Jungkook let him. Taehyung chuckled, responding to Jungkook's mind. "Taneeya and I were forced to take waltz lessons."

"You're kidding me." Jungkook slowly took the hand Taehyung offered him with a smile on his face. The boy realized his hands were cold compared to Taehyung's. "Oh god, this is terrifying." Jungkook squeaked as they awkwardly reached the center of the floor.  His heart pounded as his brain realized he was being watched by a ton of people while his hands were entwined with Taehyung's.

"It's easy. Just follow my lead okay." Taehyung assured the younger, holding onto the boy's trembling nervous hands. Jungkook followed Taehyung's footsteps, awkwardly stepping back and forth, not quite in sync.

Clumsily, the boy accidentally stepped on Taehyung's Gucci dress shoes, causing Taehyung to eye the younger. "Sorry." Jungkook whispered nervously.

"You do realize I could get new ones anytime, right?" Taehyung whispered back, swiftly moving a hand to Jungkook's waist.

Jungkook sucked in a shaky breath out of shock. Though, managed to keep a straight face. Being detective partners was fun with Taehyung. But being intimate with him isn't something Jungkook was used to experiencing. The more he thought about it, the more ridiculous their couple personas felt. The younger felt his heartbeat race faster as he tried to avoid eye contact with Taehyung.

"Hey, look at me." Taehyung's softly murmured.  "Just focus at me and you won't mess up."

Jungkook did as he was told, letting out a quivering breath before looking into his gorgeous grey eyes.  Once he did so, it was hard looking away anymore.  The pounding of his heart quickened in pace.  Slowly, their steps synced with each other and, for once, Jungkook didn't care what people thought about them.  His only focus was at Taehyung and only Taehyung.

A gong sounded from afar as Jungkook snapped out of his senses.  It was twelve o'clock.  Jungkook almost expected everything to go back as if this never happened, just like how Cinderella turned back into a servant in rags.  But no, the party was just about to get started.

The crowd cheered as the waltz dance ended.  Suddenly, blaring pop music sounded, confusing all the rich ladies and gentlemen on the dance floor.  Several young adults, probably Taneeya's friends came running in screaming in excitement.  "Enough with this old school!  Let the REAL party begin!" Jungkook spotted Jimin, Jin, Namjoon, and Yoongi in the crowd too.  The "millennials" called after surprised Taneeya and Leon as they all ran out the mansion together.  Jungkook and Taehyung exchanged a knowing glance before following along as well.

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

The younglings hooted and screamed as they got off their cars to the next destination.  Jungkook tripped several times, as it was dark outside.  Luckily Taehyung held on to his arm as he got off of Taehyung's car.  "Geez, did you have too much to drink?" Taehyung worriedly checked on the younger.

"No, it's just dark.  Sorry."  Jungkook apologized for the hundredth time before the two headed to Taehyung's grandparents' house.

They were met with a familiar image of the lights they decorated yesterday.  Yet, this time, the backyard was surrounded with chit chats here and there and slow music.  It was a lot to take in for Jungkook.  Lots of unfamiliar faces, but also lots of familiar ones as well.

The first person he recognized was Jimin, who was obviously having the time of his life with a couple of guys Jungkook swore Jimin has never met in his life.  The dirty blonde did a body roll, causing a really loud ooooh in the crowd.  Jungkook then shifted his glance to Taneeya and Leon, slow dancing together with friends surrounding and cheering them on.  Jin and Namjoon on the other hand were a little more chill, with Namjoon sipping wine as usual and Jin subtly being stared at by girls and guys.

Jungkook also realized similar stares given to Taehyung, but his eyes were only focusing on Jungkook.  The boy realized, compared to others, they weren't really doing much and were awkwardly standing next to each other.  He couldn't blame Taehyung, he wasn't the type to party based on his cold-hearted personality.  "I'm gonna go sit somewhere on the porch." Taehyung walked off.

"Wait!  Hold up!" Jungkook hurriedly caught up with Taehyung as the two reached the porch bench.  The boy caught a familiar face already sitting on the seat.  "Yoongi?"

Yoongi waved, slightly drunk.  "Hey.  So you two are dating now or...?"

"It's just an act.  My parents think we're dating." Taehyung responded curtly, his eyes downcast at Yoongi.  "Why you sitting here by yourself?"

"Jimin completely forgot about me.  So I'm here drinking my lonely ass off." Yoongi laughed bitterly, pointing at Jimin afar riskily taking a shot with a group of boys.

Taehyung narrowed his eyes at the drunk raven haired.  "If you like him so much, why don't you show him how jealous you are?" He suggested harshly.

Jungkook nudged Taehyung.  "C'mon.  He's drunk, don't push it."  He whispered.

Abruptly, Yoongi got up.  "Y'know what.  You're right.  I'm gonna show him."  He walked down the porch, heading towards Jimin with his glass of wine half full and spilling.

Yoongi pushed Jimin by the chest, sending the younger stumbling backwards in surprise.  "Ya!  Park Jimin." The raven haired slurred.  The guys, who were surrounding Jimin earlier, went in complete silence and shock.

The dirty blond smirked.  Although he took in much more alchohol than Yoongi, Jimin was used to handling drinks and was able to control himself.  "What.  You jealous?"

"Yeah.  I'm jealous.  So what?" Yoongi's face blushed, his sweat causing his pale white skin to glow.

Jimin leaned in close to Yoongi, teasing the older.  "Sorry.  I thought you're not interested in me, chief."

Yoongi swallowed, licking his lips.  "I want you... so bad."

"Sorry, I can't hear you." Jimin joked, pulling Yoongi's tie closer to himself.  "What was it you just said?"

Yoongi quickly leaned in to kiss the younger.  Cheers surrounded the two as they made out on the grass.

"Look what you've done." Jungkook scolded at Taehyung, sighing as they watched the drama from afar. "He's gonna regret this..."

"They're gonna figure things out together eventually, trust me." Taehyung rustled the boy's neatly waxed hair, causing Jungkook to squirm.

"Hey!" Jungkook pouted, fixing his messed hair.  The older chuckled as the two continued to watch the party go by afar, sitting on the porch.

"Sometimes I feel like you're doing that on purpose." Jungkook started.

Taehyung tilted his head in confusion, turning to look at the younger.  "What do you mean?"

"With those ridiculously baggy retro clothes and fluffy, messy hair and glasses."

The older smiled a little.  "Why do you think I'm wearing them on purpose?"

"Cause I think you're hiding your identity."

Taehyung leaned forward, closer to Jungkook. His eyes glowed at the younger with interest. "Keep going."

"I know you're doing it to lower your image. People can't forget a hot guy and you're trying to lower your profile as a detective."

Taehyung smirked, body slumping back on his seat. "Good, good. Glad you understand."

Jungkook fumbled his fingers, carefully letting the words slip out of his mouth. "Just-just so you know, you don't have to... wear certain things because of other people."

The older's eyes focused on Jungkook, as if expecting him to continue.

Jungkook shrugged. "Well... I-I think you should be able to take off your glasses whenever you feel like taking off your glasses. And also be able to wear your glasses whenever you feel like wearing them."

Taehyung stayed silent. Causing an awkward moment between the two.

Jungkook continued. "Well, either way...glasses or no glasses, baggy clothes or not, I think you look good wearing both."

Taehyung, who was staring blankly, let out a genuine chuckle. "You're probably the first to think that way." The older flicked Jungkook chin playfully, which took the younger by surprise. "But, thanks. That really is nice of you."

The younger felt a warm surge through his chest as he said that. Maybe it was the alchohol that made the two blush so easily from the littlest things.

Taehyung smile suddenly fell, face turning serious. "Is it weird that I really really wanna kiss you?"

Jungkook shot his head at Taehyung, heart beating insanely fast, cheeks heating up even more than before.  Jungkook shook his head. "Don't be silly, Tae. We're just ... detective partners. Friends. Buddies. Whatever we are."

The older abruptly leaned in close to the younger as Jungkook gasped, unable to hide his shock this time.   Taehyung's whispered. "I can hear your thoughts when you're drunk, idiot. You're begging me to kiss you, aren't you?"

Taehyung delicately tipped the younger's chin, gently pulling him close to his lips.  The younger froze as their eyes met, like actual lovers-

Jungkook pushed him away, remembering who they were.  "What the hell are you doing?"  Geez.  How could he possibly forget the fact that it was Kim Taehyung.  The cold-hearted, arrogant detective partner that forced him to cook and make coffee and teased him.  How could he be in love with someone like that!

The older broke out into laughter, patting Jungkook on the back.  "I was joking.  Chill."

Jungkook narrowed his eyes.  "You're taking couple personas a bit too far, Tae..."

Taehyung swung his arm around Jungkook's shoulder.  "It's just top tier acting, Jungkook.  Learn from that."  He then chuckled.  "Imagine if we really kissed.  That would've been awkward."

"It would've been." Jungkook responded before muttering to himself.  "It would've been awkward, indeed..."

Ever since then, the two haven't exchanged a word as they watched the party end in silence.  And at that moment, Jungkook started to wonder which part was Taehyung acting.  Or was the whole day just an act...?  Strangely, a huge part of the boy's heart wished none of it was.
