Sociopath, I Still Love You (Yoonmin)

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

Yoongi paced around his house in the middle of the night, unable to sleep.  After tucking his daughter to bed, he'd had a few drinks to numb his thoughts, but that didn't work.  He couldn't stop thinking about Jimin.  How he'd hurt the poor boy's feelings.  So he decided to call him, invite him over, talk seriously for once face to face.

"What do you want?" Jimin picked up the phone with a cold tone.

Yoongi nervously fidgeted the hem of his shirt.  "You wanna come over?  I wanted to talk to you..."

There was a long insufferable pause before Jimin replied.  "Okay."

It wasn't long before Jimin arrived at the door.  The second Yoongi saw Jimin's face, his heart pounded at the sight of the depressed younger.  He didn't want to see Jimin's frown.  And what hurts Yoongi even more was that Yoongi himself was the cause of the frown.

The older invited the boy inside out of politeness.  The long awkward quietness was starting to seep between the two.  Finally, Yoongi decided to cut to the chase.  "Look, Jimin.  Please don't be upset..."

Jimin cut the older in disappointment.  "First, you were ashamed of kissing me and you tried avoiding me and pretending that never happened."  Jimin crossed his arms before continuing.  "Secondly, you dated Hoseok after your divorce when you declined me saying that you have a responsibility to take care of your daughter... What makes me different from him?  How am I not supposed to be upset at you?"

Yoongi bit his lip, feeling terrible. "I'm sorry...I just-"

"Forget it. Don't make this worse or I'll end up killing someone..." Jimin shut his eyes. "...like the sociopath I am..."

"Jimin... don't say that. Being a sociopath doesn't mean you'll do murder..." Yoongi stepped closer to the boy, feeling the guilt fill his chest.  Just then, the sounds of Yoongi's daughter cried from the other room as the older whipped his head in alarm.  "Wait here, okay?"  Yoongi said to Jimin before rushing to check on his daughter.

Jimin waited for a while in the silence of the living room.  He could hear the muffles of Yoongi hushing his little girl back to sleep.  "It's okay, Holly.  Daddy's here.  It's just a nightmare.  You're alright, see?"

The more Yoongi shared caring words to his daughter, the more Jimin filled with guilt.  It was obvious Yoongi loved and cared so much for his girl... If he let someone as dangerous as Jimin into his family, he'd put his own precious daughter in danger too.  Jimin, who was emotionally unstable, could possibly hurt her... Perhaps that was why Yoongi tried to avoid him.  The thoughts were starting to crash upon Jimin as tears welled up in his eyes.  The guilt built on top until the boy could no longer take it.

Yoongi raced back downstairs, only to find that Jimin had already gone.

The next day, Yoongi got Holly ready for school as he tied her pigtails, helped her wear her clothes, brushed her teeth.  He then got Holly strapped on the car seat booster in his car backseat.  Holly seemed to notice her dad was a little off these days.  He didn't seem to smile as often and he was oddly quiet.  She understood that her father was working hard as a policeman and it's even more tiring as the only parent.  She just wished that her father could play with her a bit more and not just... work.

Just then, Yoongi's mouth hung open while stopping on the red light.  It was Jimin.  Trying to get the boy's attention, Yoongi honked his horn.  Jimin looked up from the street, who was previously staring at his phone.  He raised his eyebrows, surprised at the coincidence.  Though, he still seemed a little awkward from last night.  "Oh, hey..." Jimin walked close to Yoongi by the window.

Yoongi had a gut feeling the red light wasn't gonna last long, so he asked Jimin to jump in the car with him.  "Get in.  Light's turning green soon." He said, realizing that it was a little demanding but let that slip.

Jimin got in the car.  He eye contacted Holly from the back mirror.

"Hi, Holly!"  Jimin greeted cheerfully at the little girl.  "I'm uncle Jimin!"

Holly let out a bright smile.  "Hi, uncle Jimin."

Jimin noticed Holly holding tightly to a little stuffed animal.  "Is that a cat you're holding?"

"Yeah!" Holly grinned even wider, revealing her cute gummy smile identical to her father.  "Her name's Gloss!"

"Cute!  Nice to meet you both, Gloss and Holly.  You're both looking purrr-fect today!" Jimin played along with her, which Holly giggled in response.

Jimin gave a smile at her before turning his head to Yoongi, face turning serious instantly.  "You're taking your daughter to school?"

"Yeah.  I figured you could probably come along if you're not busy."  Yoongi suggested.

"I dunno... I have stuff to do." Jimin sounded awfully like he was making an excuse.

Luckily, in Yoongi's favor, Holly whined for Jimin to tag along.  "Aw!  Pleaseeee can uncle Jimin come with us! Pleaseeeeee?"

Finding the girl's pleads bursting with cuteness, Jimin had no other choice but to agree.  "Alright, alright.  Uncle Jimin will take you to school, alright?"

"What about after school?" Holly asked.

"Liking uncle Jimin that much already?"  Yoongi cooed at the little girl.  "What happened to you?"

Holly giggled, feet kicking the air.  "I wanna play with Jimin later!"

"Of course you can!"  Jimin instantly agreed, smiling sweetly at her.  Yoongi was surprised the boy agreed on meeting her before he could decide.

Yoongi approached the driveway of school.  "Alright, Holly.  It's time to get out of the car, now."

Holly frowned, getting off the car with her backpack and dragging her feet.

"Have fun at school, okay?"  Yoongi called out.  Holly waved depressingly as if she'd heard this sentence a thousand times already.

Jimin, out of pity, suddenly got off the car to send her off with a tight hug.  "Hey, cheer up.  Work hard at school and we might be able to play later together, okay?"

Holly's face lighted up to a gummy smile.  "Okay!"  She shifted to a cheerful posture, skipping to school in delight from Jimin's words.  Yoongi felt a weird surge of admiration towards Jimin.  It was something Yoongi wished he was to his daughter, a happy pill.  Jimin gave her joy that Yoongi was too busy to.

Yoongi snapped out of those thoughts, shifting to the tension between him and Jimin as the younger got back into the car seat next to him.

"Your daughter's adorable." Jimin complimented suddenly from the silence.

"Thanks." Yoongi responded quietly.  He finally decided to face the point while his daughter wasn't in the car.  "Why did you leave yesterday?"

"I was just impatient and couldn't wait, that's all." Jimin lied.

Yoongi could clearly tell the younger was trying to avoid something.  "Well, can we talk now?"

Jimin sighed, not answering.  "I gotta go to work."

The raven haired briefly turned his head to face Jimin, expressing a poker face.  "You do know that you work at nightshifts... right?"

"Strippers work at dayshifts too, alright?" Jimin defended, shrugging.

Yoongi scoffed.  "I've never seen you work at a dayshift."

Jimin shrugged again, ending the conversation at an awkward tone.  Yoongi hesitated for a while on whether he should turn on the radio, hoping that it would drown out the silence.  But then, again, maybe he should ask Jimin first...  or perhaps he should...

"Let me out of the car." Jimin demanded, hands on the door handle as the car halted on the red light.

"No, I'm driving you to work."  Yoongi ignored the younger's rude remark.

"I said let me out of the car." Jimin repeated sternly.  The two intensely glared at each other through the back mirror.

"Jimin, stop.  I know you're not going to work, you're just avoiding me.  But will you please just listen to what I have to say?"

Yoongi looked up at the traffic turning green.  His foot let go of the brake pedal as the car slowly drove forward.  At that split second, Jimin shot his hand over to Yoongi's side of the door handle, unlocking the car door.  Yoongi swerved his car in shock, nearly crashing the car on the right.  "JIMIN!  What are you doing!?" Yoongi yelled.  Jimin, his face shockingly calm, opened the car door and jumped right out.  The older gasped, heart pounding so fast.  Cold sweat dripped from his neck, catching his breath.  He whipped his head back to check on Jimin.  Luckily, he was safe on the street pavement, casually getting up.

Yoongi parked his car on the side of the road, running towards Jimin.  "Jimin!  Are you alright?"

The dirty blond dusted his kneecaps.  "I told you to let me out of the car."

Yoongi's lips faltered, a thousand thoughts in his head.  And they were all worrying for Jimin.  "I didn't think you'd... jump out of the car!  A-are you hurt?  Did you scratch your palms?  Are you bleeding anywhere?"  The raven haired started searching for damage, lightly brushing his hands on Jimin's arms.

Jimin shook Yoongi's hands away.  "Leave me alone, Yoongi.  I jumped out of the car for a reason, okay?"

"Jimin, look.  You're a good person. And, yes, it's my fault I avoided you. But I hope you listen to what I have to say."  Yoongi stopped the younger, holding his by his shoulders.

Jimin pushed Yoongi away harshly, eyes red from tears. "I don't wanna talk about it."

Yoongi held onto the younger, not letting him walk away again.

The dirty blonde strained from his grasp, attempting to escape, his nails dug into Yoongi's arm. Yoongi winced in pain but held on, struggling. Just when he couldn't hold any longer, he cried. "For fucks sake, Jimin! I love you."

Jimin paused, feeling fluttering butterflies in his tummy.  It was that kind of warm, giddily feeling Jimin wasn't used to.  "What?"

"I said I love you, idiot."  Yoongi's pale cheeks tinted pink, explaining.  "The thing I had with Hoseok was a one night stand when I was drunk.  We never dated, okay?  What I have with you right now.... it's different from what I had with Hoseok."

The younger blinked, trying to process.

Before Jimin could respond anything, Yoongi continued.  "And I'm really really sorry I avoided you ever since Taneeya's wedding.  I just did so cause I was scared we're going too quickly."

"Too... quickly?"  Jimin repeated in confusion, his mind still numb.

"Yeah. I want to be in a relationship with you. But I didn't mean to kiss you that soon."

Jimin felt his chest warm and his throat tightened. Tears started to fall of his cheeks and he couldn't understand why. "Y-you... want to be with me?"

"Of course I do.  I love you.  I love your confident, flirtatious nature. I love your mysterious, unpredictable and dark thoughts.  I love your playful nature with my daughter."

The younger stuttered.  "B-but I'm a sociopath..."

Yoongi brushed his index finger over the younger's lips.  "Shh... I know what you are. I know you're reckless and stupid and probably never been in an intimate relation with anyone, no offense. But I like that you're trying all that you can on me. Not gonna lie, you probably made a ton of ruthless crimes to get my attention... but I'll accept that."

Tears fell out of Jimin's eyes.  He was speechless, not expecting emotions to attack him this hard.  Everything muscle in his body wanted to move towards Yoongi.... to hug him, to kiss him- Jimin let those urges control him, jumping into Yoongi's arms.  Yet, the boy still kept cautious as his lips gently brush against the older's.  Jimin's couldn't take his eyes off Yoongi's lips.  They looked so soft like his soft pale skin... basically kissable.  "I know you said you didn't want to move too quick... is it alright if I kissed you?  Like, a small peck?"

Yoongi eyes were glued at Jimin's pleading face.  Somehow, he found Jimin deadly adorable up close as he could see the boy's rosy red cheeks.  He had the strangest urge to bite them like soft squishy mochi.  Jimin was just so cute... Yoongi couldn't help but accept the younger.  "Alright, alright.  A small peck it is."

Without hesitation, Jimin lightly pressed his lips against Yoongi's.  Despite such a tiny little peck, Jimin felt like a small, precious, delicate flower had bloomed in his chest.  It was strange how something so little can make Jimin go insane despite having sex with so many guys in the past.  It was nothing Jimin had ever experienced before, and he loved it so much.  The boy let his head rest on Yoongi's shoulders, smiling to himself.

"Promise me one thing, though."  Yoongi's voice murmured as Jimin looked up to face his properly.

"What is it?" Jimin's eyes rounded in curiosity.

"Promise you'll stop doing crime... or else I'm gonna lose my job."  Yoongi scratched his head, embarrassed he'd let the boy loose way too often.

"Don't worry, Yoongs. I don't have a reason to anymore. You have me arrested, officer." Jimin smirked, assuring the older.  He playfully poked Yoongi's cheeks.

For the first time, Yoongi played along with Jimin's kinky talk.  "Good boy."  His lips twitching into a sly smile.  "Would you like to come with me on a date?  And later pick up Holly with me?"

Jimin blushed, genuinely happy that Yoongi had accepted him to play with his daughter.  "Yeah!"

Yoongi held out his hand for Jimin to hold.  A giddily feeling squirmed in Jimin's chest as he shyly took it.  They interlocked their fingers, walking back to the car.

The car ride this time felt a lot comfier to Yoongi, knowing that the tension between him and Jimin were finally resolved.  He casually turned on the radio, driving off to enjoy a peaceful, romantic morning.
