Halloween Party

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

"We have a Halloween party at our apartment?" Jungkook raced in the house, holding up on of the posters from the hallway.

Taehyung groaned, "Ugh, not that again."

"What? What's that?"

"It's like a costume party at the lounge. We have it every year.  I really don't get the point of dressing up." The older continued to read his book upside down.  Apparently it was something Taehyung did in his spare time.

Jungkook widened his eyes, excitement washing over.  "Wait.  So we have a costume party in our apartment?"

"EVERY. DAMN. YEAR." Taehyung scorned.

Jungkook pounced, getting up from the sofa like a little child.  "Well then, let's go!"

"Not going." The older replied curtly, eyes glued to the book.

"What do you mean, no? All our apartment neighbors are gonna be there."

"Well, I never go so... you can go by yourself."

"Taehyung... TAEEE please?" Jungkook whined, hoping to see Taehyung in some ridiculous costume.

"Nope, not going."

Jungkook puffed his cheeks, upset. "Fine, I'm off. Have fun doing whatever you're doing."

And so, Taehyung did whatever he was doing, reading a book upside down on the floor.  While doing so, he couldn't help but wonder who that mysterious criminal was.  Til this day, it still baffled Taehyung that he couldn't figure out who drugged those children.

Hours went by, as Taehyung answered a knock on the door, expecting Jungkook to come back from the party downstairs.

"Jin?" Taehyung raised his eyebrow in surprise.

"Hey.  Just wanted to drop by to hand this to Jungkook.  He left his bunny headband on the table."

"Uh... Jungkook isn't home yet..." Taehyung took a brief look around the house, confused.

"What?  But the party was over like... half an hour ago."

Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows, playing with the bunny headband.  He turned the headband over, revealing small handwritten words on it, barely visible.

You wouldn't let me take him, so I took him myself.  Happy Halloween, Taehyung :)

Taehyung's lips twitched, unamused, yet excited for a new challenge.  "The criminal... has made a move."

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

[flashback to during the party:]

"Jimin, are you serious?  That's like your tenth cup of champagne." Jungkook giggled as Jimin swiftly chugged the wine cup.

"Hey, we're here to have a hella fun time.  Who knows, maybe I'll find a hot guy living in the same apartment."  The older hiccuped, wearing a sexy ghost outfit.  Jungkook had no idea how Jimin managed to nail a ghost while looking extremely hot.

Jungkook adjusted his bunny headband.  Suddenly, he gasped as he spotted a familiar face.  "Jin? What are you doing here?"

"Oh! Jungkook!" The boy turned around in a vampire costume.  "T-This is a coincidence!"

"What?" The younger tilted his head, confused.

"My friend lives in this apartment too! My, I should introduce him to you. Hold on..."  Immediately, the older came back arm in arm with another boy with his blond hair combed up.  He was dressed as a badass construction worker. "Jungkook, meet Namjoon."

In Jungkook's opinion, the guy was hella hot.  But what caught Jungkook's attention was his... "Thighs..." the younger breathed out as his eyes wandered at Namjoon's thick, muscular thighs.  As soon as he realized what he said, Jungkook blushed.  "Uh- oH my gOd- I mean- I love your thighs? No-wait. shit.  Um... hey."

Namjoon chucked, revealing his charming dimples.  "Hi, Jungkook.  Thank you for complimenting my thighs." The older teased.  Jin rolled his eyes.

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

[present time:]

"So where's the pizza?" Jin asked, as all the apartment residents gathered around at the lounge table.  They were all called over by Taehyung as he sat alongside them.  Beside Taehyung, was Yoongi, who came along to accompany his investigation.

"That was just to get your attention." Taehyung continued, facing all the people.  "So, now that you're all tricked here, let me figure out who's the one who kidnapped Jungkook."

Jin groaned, completely expecting Taehyung to offer them pizza after an epic party.

Jimin patted Jin's back.  "Jin, Taehyung's right.  This is a serious matter."

"Shut up, Jimin.  I'm trying to think." Taehyung shut his eyes in annoyance.  "Speaking of which, you're my top suspect."

Jimin raised his eyebrows in shock.  "Me?"

"You're just suspecting him cause you hate his guts, don't you..." Yoongi said from afar.

"No."  Taehyung hesitated.  "Okay, kind of.  But, as Jungkook's friend, shouldn't Jimin be the one keeping an eye on Jungkook this whole time?"

"Uh... Jimin was drunk." Jin answered.

Taehyung nodded his head. "Expected.  Of course Jimin was flirting around with the first hot guy he rests his eyes on." The older briefly read Jimin's mind.  "Yep, not surprised."

Jimin rolled his eyes.  "Can I go back home now?"

"Yeah, whatever, get out of here." Taehyung replied as he quickly moved on to the next suspect.  "Jin."

"Why are you suspecting me!?" Jin raged.

Ignoring the older, Taehyung continued.  "First of all, isn't it a little weird for you to show up in your friend's apartment party?"

"My friend, Namjoon, literally invited me cause he lives in this damn apartment. Coincidentally, it was the same apartment you and Jungkook lived in."

"Alright. But isn't it a little much for a coincidence?"

"I did not kidnap Jungkook, if that's what you're asking." Jin replied, his face calm.

"I know. I trust you." Taehyung read the older's mind before shifting his glance to Namjoon, who seems to have troubling thoughts.  "But I don't trust your friend."

"Namjoon? What does he have to do with this?"

Taehyung read over Jin's mind, "I think, you know why I'm highly suspecting your friend right?"

"No, he's perfectly fine." Jin blinked, clearly lying.

"He was the one who brought the wine to the party right?"

Jin shrugged, though Taehyung could tell the older was acting.  "Well... yeah. But that doesn't prove anything. He just likes to drink, that's all."

Taehyung paced back and forth.  "He's also somewhat related to Han Seoung, who attempted to kidnap Jungkook once."

"Han Seoung, the criminal?" Yoongi turned to look at Namjoon.

Namjoon looked down.  "We used to be friends, but then I cut my relation with the gang later on."

"Wait... how did you know he was related to Han Seoung?" Jin gasped.

Taehyung shrugged cooly.  "I read your mind.  But that's not important. The thing is that, your friend has the background knowledge of someone who can potentially drug people."

"Okay, but you have no solid evidence that Namjoon was the one who kidnapped Jungkook." Jin defended his friend.

"You're right.  It's up to Namjoon to tell us." Taehyung noticed . Namjoon's eyes wandered to the floor once again, filled with guilt.

"Namjoon, what did you do?"

"I-I can't tell you..." Namjoon pursed his lips.

"If you can't tell me, I'm gonna have to find out for myself." Taehyung said, closing his eyes.

Taehyung went back in Namjoon's memory to the party.

After Jin introduced Namjoon to Jungkook, the raven hair had been spending some time with Namjoon during the party.

"So, Jungkook. What do you do for a living?"

"Oh, I don't have a job yet. It's a little complicated." Jungkook fidgeted on his seat.

The boy smiled, his dimples showing. "It's alright, love. We have plenty of time."

Jungkook nodded, flustered. As Taehyung guessed, probably feeling shy around Namjoon. Especially when the older was treating him so sweetly, of course the boy couldn't resist.

"W-well, technically I live with a guy." Jungkook explained to Namjoon everything about Taehyung, how they first met and how he ended up living with Taehyung.

"Well, for someone your age, it's alright to try new things. And you're quite the brave one too."

"Yeah, I guess."

"Have you tried wine before?"

"Not really..."

"The ones here I brought here are okay. Maybe you can try some at my place?"

"What? Uhm, that's not really..."

"I mean, you've lived with Taehyung while knowing him for one day, right? I'm sure you're fine with visiting my place. We live in the same apartment too."

"Yeah, I suppose so."

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

"Oh my my my..." Jungkook placed the empty glass down on the table, his nose scrunched up. "That's r-really bitter..."

Namjoon chuckled. "It gets better the more you drink it. Or when you drink it with some snacks."

Jungkook got up from his chair, stumbling a little. "Yeah... I think I have enough... I gotta go back to Taehyung." The younger hiccuped.

"You sure? That wasn't a lot of-" Namjoon caught the younger, who slipped. "Oh- god. You're drunk already?"

"No, I'm-" the younger slurred, face blushing. "Oh god, I keep ending up in hot guy's places. I think I'm naturally a slut...  or a magnet for hot guys..."

"What? Um... I'll get you to Taehyung alright? Which floor does he live?" Namjoon carried the younger, bridal style out of his door to the hallway.

"Uhhh I dunno!" Jungkook giggled, body going limp. "Tenth- oh no that's where I live... right. Um uhhh..."

"I think I'll take him from here." A boy's voice said from behind.

Namjoon whipped his head around to the familiar voice. Taehyung's jaw dropped.

It was Jimin.

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

The second Taehyung's eyes flew open he ran out of the lounge, leaving Jin, Yoongi, Namjoon, and the other residents confused.  Hurriedly, the boy raced to the elevator, panting.  How could I have missed? ...When the criminal is right in front of my fucking face. Taehyung internally cursed to himself.

He rapidly pounded on Jimin's door, demanding the boy to open it.  Taehyung always had a bad feeling for Jimin and he could never explain why.  Now, he knew.  Jimin was the criminal all along.

The door swung open, revealing a smug-faced Jimin.  "Took you long enough, detective."

Taehyung shook his head in disbelief, his chest still heaving from the running.  "I don't understand. I read your mind... you were innocent..."

"Well, you don't focus well enough, Taehyung." Jimin smirked, leaning on the doorframe. "Being able to read minds, you never realize the little details, huh."

"H-how did I not notice..." The boy's voice faded, head still spinning with thoughts.

Jimin smiled cynically, watching the boy lose his mind.  The boy who constantly criticized Jimin, helplessly begging for answers.  "Well... I did some practice, forcing myself to focus on thoughts." Jimin played with his nails with a confident face.

"In other words, you thought of things that didn't happen like being a stripper or flirting with a ton of people. And you did that to distract me from finding out what you were really thinking."

"Exactly." "Something you couldn't do. Which makes your mind so easy to read." Jimin giggled, lightly poking at Taehyung's forehead.

Irritated, Taehyung looked away, ashamed of himself for not figuring it out earlier.  Yet, he kept his smug face with Jimin, keeping his cool.

Jimin continued.  "At the very beginning, I really did build a nice friendship with Jungkook. Little did I know, I found out that he was a mind protector. So you weren't able to figure out what was he thinking! And so I thought to myself... If only I could have him by my side, then he would help me stop someone like you from reading my mind. I'd be flawless."

"So you tried to take him from me, forcefully.  Which failed." Taehyung smirked back, amused.

"Well, yeah.  My men were quite trash if you ask me."

"So you kidnapped him instead."

"Oh, I didn't kidnap him. I was just here to take care of him." Jimin motioned at the closed bedroom door. "Shh... baby Jungoo's sleeping."

"I don't understand..."

"You see, Jungkook sees me as his friend. Even closer than you."

"Bullshit."

"You know that's true. We've been hanging out for a while. I'm nice to him. You, well, I don't know if making him cook for you is called nice really."

Taehyung scoffed.  A lot of times, Taehyung did suspect that Jungkook was a lot closer to Jimin. And, if Jungkook had not met Taehyung before Jimin in the first place, Taehyung was certain Jungkook would've ended up living with Jimin.

"What I'm saying is that, why fight for Jungkook when he's already on my side?" Jimin laughed cynically.  "It's just that simple!"

"Not if I tell him you drugged him." Taehyung crossed his arms.

"Well, if you tell him that, that just puts you and Jungkook in even more trouble." Jimin giggled, eyes flashing menacingly.

"Either way.  You're going to jail." Taehyung suddenly pulled out a gun from his pocket, aiming at Jimin.

Just then, the bedroom door opened. The boys whipped their heads to see the raven haired boy walking out.  Quickly, Taehyung hid the gun behind him.

"Wh-why am I at Jimin's place?" Jungkook groaned, eyes adjusting to the light. "And why were you just pointing a gun at Jimin?"

Jimin got up, automatically helping the sleepy younger. "It's alright, Jungkook.  You're just seeing things.  You just got drunk during the party." Jimin assured, as Jungkook leaned on his shoulder. "And Taehyung's just here to pick you up." Jimin flashed a sweet glance at Taehyung. "Isn't that right, Taehyung?"

Taehyung returned a wry smile at Jimin, taking Jungkook from the boy. "Sure, that's right."

Jimin ran his fingers over his hair, smiling cynically at Taehyung as he held out the door for the two to leave. "Alright. I'll see you two later. Don't do anything stupid, alright?"

"Bye, Jimin." Taehyung sarcastically smiled back, flashing a quick middle finger at Jimin behind Jungkook's back.

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

"So tell me again, how did I end up in Jimin's room?" Jungkook yawned, body lazily splayed on the sofa.

"You got drunk at Namjoon's.  So he tried taking you to my place but then Jimin offered to take you."

"Are you sure nothing weird happened?" Jungkook blinked, still dizzy.

"You probably flirted with Namjoon a little."

"Fuck." Jungkook smacked his face.  Abruptly, the boy got up, facing Taehyung.  "Oh yeah, what were you just talking to Jimin about?"

"Nothing." Taehyung pulled out his phone, calling someone.

"Who you calling?"

"Yoongi."  Taehyung exchanged a glance with Jungkook before speaking to the phone.  "Hey, Yoongs.  I have the criminal.  You can come to arrest him."

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

Jimin walked out of the apartment for a stroll before getting stopped by an officer.  Well, to be precise, it was Yoongi.

"Let me guess, Taehyung called you to arrest me?" Jimin smirked at Yoongi.

"You're a fucking psychopath." Yoongi handcuffed Jimin, dragging him to the car.

"You're a fucking hottie." Jimin eyed at Yoongi with dreamy eyes.  "Take me away, officer."

Yoongi groaned as he shoved the boy in the car, trying his best to ignore the flirt.  He started the car, noticing Jimin still staring at him from the car mirror.  "What."

"You defended me from Taehyung earlier."

"That was-" Yoongi coughed, flustered.  "-he was being rude to you, that's all."

"Thank you, Yoongi." Jimin bit his lower lip, eyes still staring at the older.

"Uh, no probs." The chief officer decided to fix his eyes on the road, ignoring the boy's glances.  To be honest, Yoongi did feel bad for Jimin a little when Taehyung was suspecting Jimin for no reason.  But, now knowing that Jimin was the criminal, he couldn't help but feel weird for defending him earlier.

"Y'know.  I love doing crime and creating chaos." Jimin started, sitting casually in the back seat.  "But I guess prison is kinda nice with you, Yoongi."

"The fuck is wrong with you." Yoongi flashed a withering glance at Jimin... Though, somewhere deep down, he was kind of amused with the boy.

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

"You cooking dinner, right?"

Jungkook frowned.  "I'm still dizzy from the alcohol and you're telling me to cook? No.  I am not cooking for you."

"You're just salty I didn't go with you to the halloween party aren't you?" Taehyung teased.

"No.  I'm mad cause you always ask me to cook for you."  Jungkook got up, packing up all this things.  Which, honestly, weren't much.

"Wait, where you going?"

"Moving back to my own room. I'm done cooking for you."

"Wait- woah woah. When did you get your key? You had it with you for a long time didn't you?"

Jungkook pursed his lips, mockingly swinging his keys as he stepped out the door without any words.

Before the younger could close the door, Taehyung stopped him. "Okay, fine. I'll cook alright?"

"Okay. Cook for yourself.  Bye." Jungkook said, banging the door close.

"W-" Taehyung was about to stop the boy but it was too late.

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

An hour later, Jungkook heard his doorbell ring.

"What do you want?"

"I cooked dinner." Taehyung mumbled softly, which Jungkook found adorable.

Despite so, the younger kept his cold tone.  "So what?"

"I cooked dinner for us both. I mean, I cooked a little too much for myself so..."

The pit of Jungkook's tummy wanted to give in.  Yet, he knew he still had to keep his grudge on the older.  "You didn't have to you know?"

"Just come upstairs, would you?" Taehyung pulled the younger's sleeves, loosing patience.  Jungkook was having fun watching Taehyung lose his own arrogant self.  It wasn't something he normally saw Taehyung go through.

"Fine." Jungkook responded curtly.

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

Jungkook was starting to enjoy the turn of tables.  It was clear the older didn't like it when the younger is missing in the house, as Taehyung had grown quite used to it.  And Jungkook loved it when Taehyung was acting soft, anything to encourage the younger to come back.

"You okay?" Taehyung glanced, yet keeping a straight face at Jungkook eating the spaghetti.

"Yeah? Why ask?"  Jungkook felt like barfing.  Holy shiet this is the worst spaghetti I've ever tastes holy-

"You look kinda pale."

"No, the food tastes great." Jungkook responded quickly, defending himself.  His face cringed again.

"You're lying. I don't even need to read you to get that."

"Okay, yeah. The food tastes like shit." Jungkook stood up, going to the kitchen. "Did you cook with your eyes closed?"

"People do that? That sounds like a good idea." Taehyung's face lit up, genuinely inspired.

"No, idiot!" Jungkook rolled his eyes in annoyance, getting out a pan and starting the fire on the stove.

"What are you doing?"

"Cooking actual spaghetti!" The younger yelled.

Taehyung bit his lower lip, feeling slightly guilty. "Okay." The older stood up from his chair, heading off to the living room.

"Kim Taehyung. Get your ass here." Jungkook called.

"What?" For some reason, Taehyung was terrified but intimidated at the same time by the younger angrily calling him by his full name. He joined the younger in the kitchen.

"Get me a pair of chopsticks." Jungkook demanded, pointing at the cup of utensils.

Taehyung raised his eyebrow, "Did I hear a 'please'?" Jungkook shot the older an angry glare, which Taehyung found it adorable yet chilling at the same time. "Okay, okay. Chopsticks, yeah."

The older handed Jungkook the chopsticks before getting dragged to the stove area beside him. "Okay, Tae. Now watch carefully."

"Oh, so you're teaching me how to cook now?"

"I SAID WATCH ME CAREFULLY. So you don't end up cooking blindfolded and set the whole fucking apartment on fire!"

Taehyung bit his lip, trying his best not to laugh. "Right."

🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑

"And that's how you cook damn spaghetti." Jungkook ended the tutorial, holding up two plates of noodles. "Tae... are you laughing at me?"

"N-no?" A laugh escaped Taehyung's lips as he said so.

"What the hell you laughin' at!" Jungkook managed to kick the older while holding the plates, though the younger too couldn't help but break a tiny smile.

"Nothing." Taehyung replied, giggling while biting his lip. "You're funny when you're mad."

"Funny? You think I'm funny?" Jungkook quickly placed the plates on the dinner table before attacking Taehyung again with a kick to his butt. Taehyung continued to laugh, barely resisting. "Okay, that's enough. Go eat your damn noodles."

The two ate their food in silence with Taehyung glancing at Jungkook once in a while. Even Jungkook found it painfully obvious. "Can you not constantly look at me?"

"I'm sorry, I thought you told me to watch you carefully?"

Jungkook narrowed his eyes.  "I really can't tell if you're joking or if you're really dumb."

A tiny smile spread from Taehyung's lips.  "Thank you."

Jungkook blinked, unsure if all of this was a dream.

The older continued.  "I mean... thank you for cooking for me.  You're a really nice friend."

The younger's chest warmed at the words.  Yet, he felt uncomfortable coming from a cold, douchebag like Taehyung.  Goosebumps formed on Jungkook's skin.  "Tae, are you okay?  You're acting really weird."

"I'm fine." Taehyung casually sat on his seat.  Yet, Jungkook couldn't help but feel like something's up with the older.  "Um... You should stay." he started, eyes stuck to the floor.

Jungkook quickly shifted his glance to the older, surprised.  "You want me to... officially move in with you?"

"I mean, I don't know how to cook and you haven't found a job yet...  So might as well, y'know, stay with me."

Jungkook looked down at his food. They both clearly knew that it was just an excuse. "Okay." he finally answered.

And so he stayed.
