[Clank]

Moira sat on the couch in silence as Clank got ready to leave this place. She stared as he packed what she offered and he sighed as he noticed her stare, "Are you okay, Miss Moira?" he asked, but he already knew the answer.

"No, not really. I'm mostly shocked. I mean, who expects to see a small lookin toaster turn into-" she watched as he turned to her, "-A...Lombax?" she looked at him closer, eyeing the clothing that she could lend him. Just a simple blank button-up top and dark brown jeans. The worn boots were one of her old pairs...

If she didn't know better, Clank would be considered a normal, living Lombax..it was weird.

Clank just huffed, oblivious to her dilemma "Whatever you say, Miss Moira. I, for one, think that this disguise is better than my original form." he said, "I believe this will allow me to get around easier. Do you not agree?" and the woman just sighed and shook her head. "From what I know, some places hate the Lombaxes and what they are doing to stop all this shit from happening." she grimaced, "I would be careful if I were you..."

Clank just shook his head, turning back to the worn backpack he was given. He mumbled "This was the only disguise I could make quickly. I have done this before, after all."

Moira looked up at that but didn't reply to that. Rather, she just shook her head again. She would never be able to understand most of this technical stuff anyway, much less Clank himself.

"Whatever you say. Just know that you won't always be welcome everywhere." she warned him, watching as his back tensed. She thought passively about how it was amazing that Clank was able to replicate human reactions perfectly, even if he was a bot on the inside...

Clank just sighed, "I will keep that in mind, Miss Moira. Thank you." he lifted the backpack up, turning to look at her once more, "I still believe it is in your best interest to come with me, however."

Moira just stared at him blankly, "Yeah, I get it already." a scoff, "I think I had enough excitement these past weeks. It was great while it lasted, but I am comfortable with my life. Thanks but no thanks."

Clank, however, was unfazed. "I am used to unruly people joining in on adventures." he smirked as she glared, "You'd be no exception. Even then, I am sure you'd find your place in the universe."

"Look, why do you want me to come with you anyway!?"

"Well, you've helped me these past weeks. In addition this planet is in danger of a takeover, if what you say is true. Therefore, the least I can do is bring you with me and we will be able to get out of here together."

Moira just sighed, "Let me think about it until we find you a ship, alright? Until then, stop bothering me about it."

Clank counted that as a victory and finally slung the backpack over his right shoulder. "If you say so. Let's go find that ship."

The woman groaned as she got up from the couch, "I don't have all the energy that I used to have..." she mumbled to herself as she followed Clank out of the front door, stepping out into the humid air. She locked the door behind them as Clank started walking.

She caught up to him, matching his stride. She looked over to his face, "Getting hot?"

He sighed, "I...may have underestimated the effect the weather would have on my new body." he looked down at his silver fur, "However, I do think the light fur was the right choice."

Moira nodded, "Sure, it makes you...stick out, at least." she shrugged as he looked over at her, almost looking offended.

He just shook his head as they continued to head to the small town across the way. He refrained from rolling his eyes as Moira kept letting out heavy sighs. This woman seemed to have a problem with everything, and she seemed so easygoing when he met her. Oh well, it was the same thing as when he met Ratchet. If he dealt with it once, he could deal with it again.

They got weird stares once they entered the town. Clank looked around in curiosity as he noted the dusty terrain and small little huts that served as shops. He couldn't decipher the writing on the huts' dusty windows, however. Would it really kill them to clean them?

Then again, this planet seemed to be dusty, even on a good day.

Moira put a hand on his right shoulder, "Don't pay attention to these people. They have probably never seen a Lombax before!" she reassured him, "That, and I am just well known around here too."

Clank nodded in acknowledgment as they continued on, "Where can we exactly find a ship?"

Moira smirked, "There is this guy I know that can get us a ship in no time. He runs a pretty shady business though. You might have to do something in return."

"Then I'll do it." He replied monotonously, "If it means getting off this planet, I will do it." and Moira just shook her head in amusement, "Whatever you say, tin-can."

Moira took the lead as she led him down one of the short, dirty alleyways. He looked around in slight apprehension as they turned a corner. Moira stopped suddenly, knocking on a worn, wooden door. "Aaron, open up. I got ya' a new customer!"

Suddenly, a small peek hole appeared in the middle of the door, "Moira, what do you-" the voice stopped, seemingly surprised, "Ohhhh, what a treat."

The hole closed up and the sound of keys jingling could be heard from outside. It took a while for the man to get the door unlocked but once he did so, he smiled. He was a Markazian, with dark brown hair and green eyes. He looked over to Clank. "Haven't seen your kind around these parts." he paused, looking around, "Get inside before someone sees you both."

Moira and Clank did as the man said. Once they were in, Aaron closed the door once more. Clank raised a brow as he looked over all 5 of the locks. He wondered why the man would have so many but saved that thought for later as the man turned back around. "Well, a Lombax I see. Surprising..." he mumbled, before holding out a hand for Clank to shake, "Names Aaron Boltin, nice to meet you."

Clank shook the man's hand, "Call me Clank."

The man chuckled at the odd name but didn't say anything about it. He gestured for them to sit at the brown, wooden table that was next to (what Clank assumed) a run-down kitchen. He watched as the name sat just across from them, smiling at them. "So, Moira, what brings you back to my shop?"

She leaned back in her chair, "We need a ship, Aaron. Specifically to get him-" she gently hit Clank's arm, "-off the planet."

Aaron huffed, eyes widening, "A ship!? Y'know, those aren't too easy to come by..."

"Look, can you help us or not?" Moira asked, "Cause if not, I'm sure we can find somewhere else to get one."

The man hummed and tapped his chin in thought, before smirking mischievously. He looked towards Clank once more, "Well, I'll do it. For a price."

"What is it?" Clank asked immediately. He knew that he would try to do it as quickly as possible. The man sighed, "Really? You'd agree that quickly?" He took one look at Clank's face. "Guess that's a yes. Well-" he stood up out of his chair, grabbing a stained, brown folder off the kitchen counter, opening it up and looking through the paper he had in there. "-There's this one item I need to get for another client of mine that I haven't had the chance to. Now, we trade off from time to time and he has something that I really need. It's important."

Clank looked at the paper he was handed, "That desert demon right there is a Prigorian sand snake. A...giant one, to say the least. They're poisonous."

Clank nodded his head, scanning the picture and saving the image to his memory bank. He handed the paper back to the man. "What do you need from it?"

"I need both of its fangs, simple." Aaron stated, "A vial of venom would be good too."

Clank nodded. He needs a flask for that. "I'll do it, if you give me a-" he jumped when he felt something tug on his new tail. He turned around immediately while Aaron and Moira looked over. Aaron sighed, "Ashby, what did I tell you about coming out when guests were here?"

Said little boy didn't reply, just looking up at Clank. He had the same green eyes as Aaron, but dark gray hair. He held a small blue teddy bear to his chest. He was pretty young...

"Fluffy..." he mumbled. Going to play with Clank's hand as Clank himself stared in amazement at the child's antics. Aaron sighed, "That's my son for you. He'll leave you be in just a moment.

Clank sighed, looking back at the man as the child continued to poke at his hand, "I will do it. Give me a flask if you have one and I will acquire the venom for you as well."

The man nodded enthusiastically, getting up from the chair and heading to one of the cabinets in the kitchen. "Great, and I'll give you one of the old ships I bought off one of the traders. Hope you don't mind a bit of wear and tear."

"As long as it gets me to where I need to go." Clank replied simply. He looked towards Moira, "Will you be joining me, Miss Moira?" and she just shook her head, "No, I'll stay here, tin-can. I'll wait for you to get back."

Clank watched the little boy leave and run into another room when he got up. Aaron just sighed but handed him the glass vial anyways, along with a small blade.

"Don't die out there, kid."

"I'll try my best..."

⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰

Clank dug through the sand dunes and tried to find his footing in the deep terrain. He panted to cool his inner systems as he looked over the dune he was trying to climb. Nothing. Nothing but sand everywhere. He groaned in frustration. He started to wonder if this is how Ratchet felt when he had to walk through all the terrains he faced. He couldn't imagine how it was with Clank's added weight on his back.

Clank reasoned that if Ratchet could deal with it, he could too.

With that, he managed to make it over the sand dune and slid down the other side. He scanned the area around him. If he assumed correctly, then these sand snakes would travel underground. Perhaps-

He felt the ground shake a bit under his feet. He looked around in curiosity before he spotted movement in the distance. He smiled slightly in victory as he tried his best to run as quickly as possible. He stopped once he got to his destination, no more movement able to be seen. He hummed as he scanned the environment once more.

There seemed to be something-

He was suddenly flung forward as a large sand snake shot out of the ground. Clank heard it hiss aggressively as it spotted him. He turned over quickly and did his best to kick it away as it slithered forward towards him, bearing its long, pointed fangs.

It narrowly missed him, and he mentally cursed his new, slow body. He wasn't used to having one so tall and complicated. It was difficult for him to maneuver like he used to...

But he had no time to dwell on that as his attacker pursued again. He had no time to pull out his blade so he took this backpack strap and slid it off his shoulder and used the heavy bag to whack the reptile in the face. He grunted as he then pulled the blade he got from Aaron out of his pocket, baring his teeth as the snake came closer. Once it tried to snap at him, he dodged and took the blade and stabbed the skin.

The snake hissed louder, taking its tail and wrapping it around him, tossing him like a doll across the hot sand. Clank, still grasping the blade, was prepared when his attacker was upon him again. He held the blade up as the reptile tried to lunge on top of him.

Big mistake.

The blade hit its mark and the beast went down without another snap. Clank pushed the heavy snake off of him as it went limp, sighing in relief once he could get up. He looked down at himself,

"Well, at least I'm not that dirty..."

He stood up, looking over the dead reptile before him. Pity such a creature had to die...but he needed to get off this planet and figure out what to do next.

With his strength and blade he managed to salvage one fang from the creature, not before getting a little bit of venom out as well.

That felt...a bit too easy now...

Then again, it was easy for him. He was a bot, unlike the others. He couldn't exactly get poisoned, after all.

He took the vial and held it in his hand, slinging his backpack over his left shoulder right after. He wiped his blade on his pants before pocketing it again. He looked around at the empty desert once more.

Now it was time for the long trek back.

The sand and dirt blew past him in the wind, irritating his optical units as some sand flew right into them. He took his arm and shielded his eyes from the wind and sand. He huffed in frustration as his feet got stuck in the sand and he almost tripped a few times.

As he got closer and closer, he tried to get a better look at the town. And once he got over the last dune-

He dropped the flask as he looked at what was going on ahead of him.

The town...

It was on fire!

Forgetting the shattered flask, he ran as quickly as he could to his destination. He could hear the pained screams and shouts coming from the houses. What looked to be some sort of warbots walking around started blasting bullets and fire everywhere...

More than half of the town was gone and Clank was losing time. He had to save who he could and help them flee the town as quickly as possible.

He immediately pressed up against what was left of a wall to someone's home.

He did not want to look over it in fear of what he might see.

As he watched the hostile bots turn away, he turned as well and made it down one of the alleyways. Most of the small homes and shops were either decimated or on fire. He coughed as smoke and dust threatened to clog his inner ventilators, trying to remember where Aaron's house was. He turned to the left, and then the right, and went down the one that looked the most familiar.

Thankfully, it was the right one. He turned to the familiar wooden door before realizing what he was about to walk into.

The whole back of the home was crushed, debris scattered everywhere.

Oh no...no no no...

He kicked the door once, then twice, then three times until it finally caved in. He growled lowly as he stepped forward and surveyed the damage.

The ceiling was partially caved in, and the whole place was a mess. He looked around and-

"Moira!"

The woman was currently sprawled on the floor, half of her body covered in rubble. She turned her head at him as he bent down, surveying the damage done to her body. She made eye contact with him briefly, "Clank. You gotta get out of here. N-now."

"But Miss-"

"I won't make it, dammit! Just say it!" she grit her teeth, "Aaron went out a-and probably got captured. I-I don't know where the hell the kid is but-" she coughed, "You gotta get out of here."

Clank just shook his head, starting to move some pieces of rubble off her waist, he ignored her protests, "I am not leaving you here, Moira. Not while I'm-"

The ground started to shake. The unmistakable sound of metal grinding on metal could be heard, He felt Moira pull him down by the collar, gasping out, "So help me, if you don't get the hell out of here in the next few seconds I'll bring you to hell myself." she threatened. Clank just looked down at her, helplessly, "G-Go, Clank. You can't save everyone." she took a deep, shaky breath, "You wanted to pay me back? Do this for me."

He looked at her sadly, jumping as the footsteps got closer. He looked back down at her before nodding, "As you wish, Miss Moira." He stood up, "Thank you, for everything."

And all Moira did was smile sadly, nodding her head in acceptance.

⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰

Clank headed outside again, running around the side of the house (which was a narrow walkway) and got to the back of the partially destroyed house.

The ship-

He ran forward as the vibrations from the attack bot's footsteps intensified as they got closer. He begged-

Please have a key. Please have a key...Please have some way to start the ship!

He managed to pop the door open, looking around the dusty interior before walking into the cockpit, looking around some more.

The tech was outdated, but usable.

He sat down in the pilot's seat. Oddly enough, the key was already inside...as if someone put it in there just beforehand.

Did Aaron have so much confidence in him that he left these in here...?

Whatever. He didn't have time to dwell on that now. It was time to get out of here, and soon. So he started the engines, grasping the steering lever and somehow making it off the ground without any issues. The ground started getting smaller and smaller as the ship rose, and once he was high enough, he started pushing forward,

Ah shit- it was in reverse-

He quickly changed his direction, breathing heavily with anxiety as he finally figured out what to do and what to press.

He engaged the thrusters and the ship jolted forward as he angled the ship upwards. He looked down and located the hyperspeed button, which would help him get out of this atmosphere and into space. He dared not to look back,

It was probably hell down there...

He prepared himself as he pressed the button, body jolting back at the force of it and he grasped onto the seat as best as he could so he wouldn't fly off.

Damn, he forgot his seatbelt...

Despite this, he managed to stay in place, but he quickly put on the belt as quickly as he could once the ship stabilized. He sighed in relief as the hardest part was over.

He looked out the dirty window at the planet below. He was lucky to have made it out before things got worse. If he didn't, who knows what would have-

*Crash*

Clank jolted, startled as he unclipped his seatbelt and looked behind him, eyes widening at what he saw.

An empty crate was tipped over to reveal a small familiar Markazian with a set of innocent green eyes that looked at him curiously. A small little teddy bear lay just a few feet away, His heart dropped.

No fucking way...

⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰

[Ratchet]

"No fucking way!"

Ratchet looked over the open book with Hunter, amazed at what he was just told. Hunter also seemed to be visibly sweating as he looked over the same page.

They have been standing here for almost ten minutes just staring at the book in almost horrific silence. Hunter was holding a fist to his mouth while Ratchet just bit his lip in shock. Holy shit.

"I don't get it..." Hunter stated, "I mean, we were all lied to? Every single one of us was lied to all these years!? How could-" he paused, just shaking his head in disbelief. "How could my father-no, the whole Council- do this to us!?"

Ratchet just stood in silence, letting Hunter vent it out. And...well, he didn't really remember anything about this so-called Tachyon at all...

"I just-" Hunter moved away from the table and started pacing, "I just don't understand! Just...Why!?"

Ratchet hummed in thought, "Well, they probably don't want people to panic..." he reasoned. Apparently, this was the wrong thing to say because Hunter turned around to him, glaring at him angrily, "That still doesn't make up for the fact that they are putting people in danger. Whole families were decimated when Tachyon attacked! This isn't just a game where they could just fucking lie and believe that everything is okay when it's not!" he shouted, "Well, it's not like you'd understand. You don't remember anything, after all."

Ratchet glared, biting his tongue so he didn't say the wrong thing, "Maybe I don't, but I could at least see that this is wrong." he muttered, "Whatever the reason is, we don't know their reasoning at all. They are still doing wrong though..."

The room was silent for a moment. Both of them were lost in their thoughts until Ratchet spoke up again, "I think we should expose them."

Hunter turned to him, "What!? Do you know what that would cause? Mass hysteria!"

"Then what do you think we should do!?" Ratchet shot back, "Just sit back and watch while innocent people are in danger, including us!? I don't know about you, but I am not just gonna sit back and watch this happen!"

Hunter just shook his head, "Oh, really. Well, I'll ask you the same thing. What will you do?"

Ratchet was silent for a moment, "I want to stop it."

"How?"

And...Ratchet didn't know what to say to that. How was he going to do that? How was he going to save these people? How was he going to do this in these conditions?

This was all so messed up...

"See, you don't know. Better yet, this means that The Council has control over every single one of us."

Ratchet nodded silently. Hunter was right.

Hunter went back to the book, turning several pages as if he was looking for an answer. "If they know about Tachyon...they must have made another Dimensionator. If they did that, then..." he trailed off, glancing at another page, "That could mean..."

He paused once he got to a...new page?

No, a clean-looking document...

Fuck.

"When you picked it up, was it dusty?"

Ratchet scoffed, "That whole fucking place was filled with dust."

Hunter just shook his head, pulling the document out and unfolding it, reading over the fine details. As he read the document more and more, his eyes started to widen. He looked up at Ratchet, then back down again. Then up, mouth widening.

This...this all made sense! This made sense!

Ratchet raised a brow at the look on Hunter's face. The older Lombax suddenly threw the paper on the table and practically jumped forward, clutching Ratchet's shoulders as he shook him a couple times. "Ratchet, this all makes sense. It makes so much sense now!" and Ratchet held his hands up and looked at the other, who was practically hysterical at the point. "Whoa whoa, just calm down! Tell me what-"

"You're from a different dimension, Ratchet!" he exclaimed, "It all makes sense! You from a different dimension and The Council knows that! They know it!" he said in disbelief, "That's why they-"

"Wait...a different dimension? Not like a different planet?" he chuckled, "C'mon Hunter, that's really-"

"It's true! It's right here on this document!" He pointed to the paper, "They don't know much. But they know where you came from, Ratchet! You gotta believe me!" and at Ratchet's blank, unamused stare, he huffed in frustration. "Ratch-"

"No, you can't expect me to believe that. You can't." he said coldly, "You want me to believe that I was taken from my home and placed here for no fucking reason!?"

"We don't know that yet!" Hunter argued, "All we know is what is on the paper, and you're not from here. We still don't know what The Council exactly wants from you...yet."

At this point, Ratchet just started shaking his head in disbelief. His thoughts were all over the place and he couldn't exactly pinpoint how he felt at that moment. A different planet? That was believable. A whole different dimension? No, it couldn't be...

"How...how do they know this anyway?"

Hunter hummed, "Well...it says on the paper that they found some items scattered around where you were found...they don't say what."

Ratchet just breathed out shakily, going to have a seat on the couch as his thoughts ran wild. "What...what the fuck am I supposed to do now!?" He asked out loud, "I don't remember most of my memories and this...this is the first thing I fucking learn!?"

Hunter just stared at him in sympathy, "Better yet, my own people have been lying to me all this time!? Treating me like I am some...some criminal!?"

After he was done, Hunter sat on the couch as well, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Despite what we both learned today, our objective is still the same." he said quietly, "I think that the only way we could get to the top is to find out who is following you first. Then...then we can work up from there. And if you remember things before then..." he looked towards Ratchet, "What will you do?"

Ratchet hummed, "Depends. Even if I am from another dimension, this one is still in danger. I...can't just leave like that."

It was silent in the room for a moment, a sense of dread growing in the silence. "I see..." Hunter muttered, "But...there is still one more thing to think about."

"And what's that?" Ratchet asked him quietly, glaring at the ground.

"There are other villains out there that we know about. If Tachyon ever finds a way here...It could be a disaster." He said grimly. Ratchet let out a heavy, frustrated sigh, "So, not only are our people in danger, but the rest of the dimension as well!?" he stood up in frustration, heading in the direction of the door before pacing back to where he was. "Fuck!" He shouted. "It's just...It's not..." he couldn't even finish his sentence. He ran his hands through his head fur in disbelief. Hunter watched him,

"Hey! We can't panic now! We got to figure out what to do here and take things one step at a time, Ratchet! We can't get ahead of ourselves."

Ratchet paused, before nodding slowly, "Yeah...yeah you're right..." He muttered out, "How many of these bad guys are we talking about?"

Hunter huffed, "A lot." was all he said.

Ratchet stood there in silence for a moment. Damn, this was fucked up.

He turned to stare at the wall and try to collect his thoughts, muttering to himself as something seemed to click into place,

If only Clank was here...

He snapped his head up, holding his head in his hands.

"Holy shit." he said in disbelief, "Fucking-" he turned to Hunter who had a brow raised in question at his sudden outburst. "Hunter, listen! I just remembered something!"

"Really!? What is-'' he paused when Ratchet grabbed his shoulders, like the same thing he had done prior. "I'll tell you after. Just...Just do you know of any way I could communicate off-planet!? Any way at all?"

This could be useless but...it was worth a shot.

"Please!"

Hunter looked at him like he was crazy, before he seemed to collect himself. "There is this one person I know that could possibly get messages across on cargo ships...why?"

"I need to send a message to someone." Ratchet replied quickly, "There may just be a way out of this mess..."

⊱ ────── {⋅. ✯ .⋅} ────── ⊰

Ratchet slipped into his window quietly and shut it behind him, making sure to lock it.

It was way past midnight by the time he and Hunter were done talking and planning their next moves. That, and he just had a whole conversation about what he remembered.

Clank...Clank was a friend...someone important to me. Someone that could help me....if he was here in this dimension, at least.

It was worth a shot. He reminded himself.

Hunter promised to contact his mysterious friend that could help him send out a message. They couldn't do so normally, or else people, and The Council, would get suspicious. They hoped it wouldn't take too long since...they could be running out of time if the villains tried to strike first. And if Ratchet came from another dimension, and this so-called Tachyon was also in another dimension then...

It could spell disaster for everyone here.

He shook his head, not wanting to think about the dangerous future ahead of him. Right now, he had to play his cards right and make sure he was prepared for whatever might come...

He got ready to go to sleep when he heard it.

A voice...

Curious, he tip-toed to his door, pressing his ear against it in hopes that he would hear something. While he didn't want to really eavesdrop, Kaden and Phoebe were never up this late when they had work the next day...

The voice was muffled.

"Yes...it's...no I don't."

Ratchet furrowed his brows, silently unlocking his door so he could listen to the voice a bit better.

"No, Mags. I don't understand..." Kaden drawled tiredly from downstairs. His voice was strained and Ratchet almost couldn't tell what he was saying. The man seemed to start and pace, if Ratchet was hearing correctly.

"It's...not that. It's just, concerning. Don't you think so?" Kaden asked quietly, "This isn't normal. Not at all. After all this time..."

Ratchet raised a brow, what the hell were they talking about? Was it about-

"No. That can't be? Why would they?"

The man was silent for a moment, and Ratchet's grip on the side of the door tightened. His fur on the back of his neck stood on end.

"What did you say?" Kaden asked incredulously, "There is no way that could be the reason. He-" and the man was cut off. He went quiet again, voice getting quieter and quieter.

"A dimensional map sounds suspicious. Not what you're thinking about."

Ratchet's heart dropped and his ears lowered as his eyes widened. There was no way...no possible fucking way.

They were....they wanted something like that!? And now they are getting Kaden in on it? An innocent person?

Oh, now that made him pissed.

His grip tightened more as Kaden continued.

"You and I both know that this has nothing to do with that. That's absurd." Kaden grumbled back, "There is no way that he is connected to this." he said, "Mags, just think about it. It doesn't make sense."

Kaden's footsteps seemed to get farther and farther away. Ratchet leaned forward a bit more to keep listening.

"I agree." Kaden said, and Ratchet could hear the familiar creak of the garage door opening.

"The Council is up to something. And I don't like it."

And the door shut. Ratchet pulled back and shut his own door as quietly as he possibly could. Once he locked it, he pressed his back up against the solid wood door, processing what he just heard. It seems that The Council was already acting upon...whatever their goal was, and he knew that it had something to do with him being here. While he still hasn't found out what got him here, there was something sinister going on....

And he did not like that one bit.

And now they were getting Kaden and others into this mess to do their dirty work? That was unacceptable, to him at least. Knowing The Council, they were going to take advantage of whatever was at their disposal. And that included Kaden and his friend Mags and possibly many more. If all these people knew what was really going on...

They wouldn't like it, not one bit.

Oh, how he wished he could tell Kaden and everyone else what he found out. He wished he could tell them the things he remembered and all the things he was planning on doing now. But, if The Council is planning something for him, he has to do this to keep them safe. Hopefully...

Cause he'd rather die than not try at all. He wasn't just going to sit back and let this happen to the people around him.

He immediately went over to his phone, tapping the screen and heading straight to Hunter's contact, texting,

Ratchet : The Council is making Kaden create a dimensional map.

Hunter : What the fuck

Hunter : You can't just drop that on me like that. I'm trying to sleep

Ratchet : Shut up! This is more important!

Ratchet : It's not just me anymore.

If they are getting Kaden and other people involved...

Ratchet : I don't know what they are planning to do.

Hunter : Well, that's true

Hunter : It is concerning, but we have to do this right

Hunter : And besides, my contact has agreed to try and send your message out.

Ratchet : Great, where do I start?

Hunter : We'll go together.

Hunter : She is...a very peculiar woman.

Ratchet : Okay...

Ratchet : Whatever you say

Ratchet : I will try to find out more from Kaden.

Hunter : Good

Hunter : I guess this means that we can't wait until The Council makes a move anymore.

Ratchet finished for him...

Ratchet : Right, people could already be in danger.

Ratchet : We can't let The Council do this anymore.

Hunter : That is correct

Hunter : For now, let's continue to keep our heads down.

Hunter : I'll let you know when he can meet my contact. I will see you then.

Ratchet : Got it.

And that was it.

He put his phone on the side table and laid back down on the bed. These past few days were...exciting he guessed. But it also was a disaster.

From stealing the book to fighting with Oliver and remembering things and...finding out a lot of shit, he was overwhelmed.

Overwhelmed and determined at the same time, if that made any sense.

He stared up at the ceiling, bringing a hand up to press against his head. This was all so fucked up.

Either way, he knew what he had to do. He knew what had to happen in order to stop the Council and hopefully save some people in the process.

He had a mission.

And even if he didn't know these people. Even if he didn't belong. He would do anything to protect them.

He would see this through, even if it was the last thing he did.

And with that in mind, he finally shut his eyes and tried to go to sleep.

Tomorrow would be another day...He just hoped it would be better than the last but...

He couldn't help but feel like things were about to change...
