Y/N's POV
England, 1528
~Flashback~ (this is when she explains how she got bit)
The year was 1528, and I was seventeen.
I was living alone in a small cottage outside of London. My parents died a few years ago from an unknown disease, leaving me to take care of everything at the house.
It was a simple life, in the cottage. I would milk our goat and feed our chickens. I would also milk our cow and tend to our sheep. Once you learned how to take care of each animal, it became a easy task to repeat everyday.
Besides my parents dying, everything was perfect.
But that all changed when Isaac Lewis walked into my life.
I first met him when he walked up to my stall at the farmers market. He was wearing a hat, trying to block out the sun.
"Good morning, sir, is there anything I can interest you in?" I asked politely, waiting patiently for an answer.
He looked at me, his dark brown eyes watching my face before replying, "Yes, actually. How much for your goat cheese?" He asked me.
I smiled lightly before replying, "That will be 10 shillings."
He raised an eyebrow before grabbing his coin pouch and handing me the shillings. I gave him the block of goat cheese, "Thank you, sir." I said to him.
He smiled a bit at me, "No, thank you, miss."And with that, he walked away.
After that day, he would always come to my stall at the market. We would talk, sometimes about King Henry's affair with Anne Boleyn, and the English Reformation. Other days we would talk about the weather or anything interesting that happened in our lives.
We became close during the span of six months, and soon began to court each other. It has been a while since I felt loved, but it felt good. We were sitting at the table one night in my cottage. I had just finished putting away our stuff from supper and was now sitting across from him, our hands intertwined.
"Y/N, I have a confession to make, and it's not a really great one either." He said, rubbing his thumb against my hand. I nodded, somewhat confused and afraid. Had he cheated on me already?
Isaac continued, "I'm not what you think I am.......I mean, yes, I do look human, but in reality, I'm not......" I pulled me hands away from him slowly, unsure of what to think about him.
"What do you mean, 'you're not'? How could you be something else......unless you're a-"
"Vampire?" He asked curtly, look at me across the table. I nodded slowly.
Isaac sighed, pressing his hand against his forehead, "Listen, I didn't want to tell you until I could trust you, and I do trust you. Y/N, I've been having visions of us being together, even before we met."
I-Isaac.....I don't know what to say.....or think...." I whispered, looking away from him.
"Be with me, Y/N. We'll live for eternity, have children, watch the world age around us. Please?" He asked, taking my hand from across the table.
I looked up at him, his eyes staring into mine. They were pleading.
Desperate.
Helpless.
I couldn't say no.
My stupid self nodded. He stood up and walked me into the bedroom we shared. I laid down on my side of the bed, and he kneeled onto his side of the bed.
"Y/N, are you sure you want this? Because if I do this to you, there is no coming back." He whispered, picking me up and holding me gently into his arms.
I wasn't sure, but I nodded anyways. He pulled away the hair that was on my neck and leaned in. I held onto him tightly, bracing myself for the pain.
My nails dug into his shirt as he bit into me. I let out a small cry, but the pain soon faded and became a numbing sensation. I didn't realize I was crying until I felt a tear roll off my cheek.
It wasn't long until he pulled away, his dark eyes filled with pleasure as he looked at me. He had a bit of blood on his lips, but quickly licked it away.
He pulled me into a hug and whispered in my ear, "Tomorrow is going to hurt. Your body will be going through painful changes." He rubbed my back soothingly.
He wasn't wrong. The next few days were dreadful, and that's just putting it lightly.
I had a splitting headache for three days when my fangs formed, and my chest hurt nonstop as my heart began to slow, and soon stopped beating.
I was scared at first, but after a while, I felt like I was becoming younger (even though I was already young).
Isaac was there for me when I went through the transformation, and I was super grateful that he stayed with me.
However, we soon began to drift apart from each other.
We were together for over a century. We never did get married, but that was okay. It wouldn't have worked out anyways.
Isaac would leave the house everyday to go to the bar, and would come back home, drunk.
And he wasn't the happy drunk type.
He was the abusive, angry drunk type.
He would beat me until I couldn't stand, and that was on the good nights. Other nights, well......it was a lot worse.
It was June of 1701 when I decided to leave him. I should have left him earlier, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.
When Isaac left for the day, I grabbed all the stuff I thought was necessary, like clothes, shoes, sunhat, and a little bit of food.
When I closed the door to my cottage, I ran in the opposite direction of him.
I never saw him again.
Until he shoved me against a tree.
