" Holy shit" Shikamaru whispered, grief thick in his voice. No one else spoke the words, but most others felt the same thing.

" I can't do this," Hinata whispered.

" They were looking at me like I was glass," Lee said, a slight coat of bitterness lacing his tone and no one could really blame him. Lee had more experience in the front lines than most people thanks to his specialization in the front lines, out of everyone here he probably had the most experience with getting into combat and watching his team die.

Even after the death of Guy and TenTen, where Lee went on a killing spree that only Naruto was able to talk him out of, people saw him as weak since he could do ninjutsu, and Genjutsu. 2 weeks later Lee had the operation done so his chakra channels were larger and he could do basic genjutsu and ninjutsu.

Speaking of that Naruto has a few ideas on how to get some of his chakra channels opened using seals.

" I know that we are all pretty raw right now but we should talk about this now," Shikamaru said and everyone turned to the tense male.

" Sasuke ended up joining us during the war, but it was too late," Shikamaru said and Naruto flinched.

"He killed thousands of people but saved thousands when he joined the alliance, so what should we do about him now?" Lee asked and everyone turned to Naruto.

" Can we save him, Naruto?" Hinata asked softly and Naruto closed his eyes.

" Revenge is the only thing that matters to him, when it wasn't Itachi, it was Konoha, when it wasn't Konoha it was Tobi, can we really save him?" Naruto said evenly with his blue eyes steel.

Hinata took his hand in hers.

" If there is one thing I learned about you Naruto, it's that you, the most unpredictable ninja, can do anything," She said and Naruto rolled his eyes.

" You took us 15 years to the past Naruto, if you can do this why can't you do that?" Lee said.

" Sasuke's just a kid right now, if we can steer him off of Itachi and make Itachi survive and join Konoha we should be able to push his revenge onto Tobi permanently." Shikamaru pointed out.

" You honestly have no idea how much I want to see Sasuke stab Tobi with a katana again" Naruto deadpans and chuckles erupt from the group.

" Don't forget Ino calling Madera a ' bitch ass wannabe'" Shikamaru said and snorts were heard from everyone.

" When Sai called Madera dickless I could have died happily," Lee said with all seriousness.

" Oh, and when Shino-" Hinata started but was instantly cut off by yelps of laughter.

" We don't talk about that," Lee whimpers, and everyone chuckles.

" So what plan of action are we going with?" Shikamaru asked, dissolving the laughter.

" Right now we should try to reconnect with our teams, Itachi came solo to scout me right before the chunin exams, and then again with Kisame during the Tsunade fiasco," Naruto said and Hinata gave him a look.

" You want to talk with someone that at this time period will capture you to keep his cover solo," Hinata asks and Naruto sighed.

" Wait I thought the first time you saw Itachi was that day in the inn," Lee asked and Naruto looked at him.

" The first time I saw Itachi was when I was 4 and got my Anbu guards. He, Kakashi, Yamato, and Shisui were my main guards. Yamato and Shisui stayed hidden but Kakashi and Itachi helped me with my homework or when I wanted to play. Not that I knew who they were until the war" Naruto explained and Lee put away the input of information.

" You didn't know who they were," Hinata asked with a hand raised...

" I knew them as Inu nii and Crow nii. I didn't find out that Kakashi was Inu until he told me after I found out who my dad was. I found out about Itachi 2 years before Sasuke died." Naruto said.

" Getting back on the topic are we sure that we should let Naruto go off with a murder-happy Itachi," Shikamaru said already knowing most of this information.

" All I have to do is get a memory seal on him, right now he is on year 2 of his illness, back home it was too late when we finally realized it and he had to live with it but if we treat it now, I can reverse the effects of the illness with Ying Yang Release and could even stop the effects that his eye is having," Naruto said with a slight hint of desperation.

Everyone here knew that after Sasuke showed his true colors Itachi and Naruto connected through their grief and Itachi became like a mentor to the blond. Besides the deaths of his team, Itachi's slow death hit Naruto the hardest.

That day was also the day that Naruto finally stopped caring about who he killed and why.

" Yes Naruto but we might have the strength and chakra we had back in our time we don't have the control or memorization and one month of training can only do so much, and thanks to the effect of time travel, we still have some of our old personality trait and even habits that we killed off after the war can you honestly say you can win without a doubt," Hinata said and everyone winced.

During the month they realized that they had some pretty bad habits.

Lee started jumping up and down and started saying " Youth" again, though he looked annoyed whenever it happened, He also has some competitive instincts where he would challenge everyone to a fight.

Hinata started stuttering among crowds and periodically blushed. In the group, she acted normally but whenever they would go into towns through the paths they were heading for Hinata would cower behind Naruto or sometimes Lee.

Shikamaru was a bit more reserved than normal, he sighed but got things done. Said "troublesome" every few seconds. Slept more than usual and started spacing out and drawing his commands rather than ordering them.

Naruto was the opposite. He had bursts of energy that he had to fight back. Was overly confident. He spoke without thinking and lost all sense of personal space that Shikamaru and Sakura beat into him.

They all had some childlike thoughts that were soon forgotten and generally acted as if they were a mix between their 12-year-old selves and their old selves.

Naruto had become clingy. He was either holding hands with Hinata, putting his arms around Lee's shoulder, or bumping shoulders with Shikamaru. Hinata was normally fine with this but there were some times where she would flinch at someone's touch. Lee no matter how hard he tried to hide it was always watching everything as if expecting an attack. While Shikamaru was vigilant he didn't watch for movement and got surprised often.

Thanks to the Hokage they all got some anonymous psychological evaluations done, Hinata and Lee have some contact-based stem trauma and Naruto has a slight social anxiety disorder, but not enough for it to be a problem, and Shikamaru is the only one with visible PTSD.

" You look weird without your high ponytail," Shikamaru said, trying to move past an uncomfortable topic. Naruto put his hand through his hair that was currently similar to his father's bangs. At first, he kept it short but after the death of Jiraiya, he stopped cutting it until he could put it in a high long ponytail that reached just below his shoulder. It has been 10 years since his hair was this long, and he has Kurama currently working on it.

Of course, the fox made fun of him first but understood why he needed it longer. Naruto had gotten to know his father during the war thanks to Orochimaru's reanimation jutsu, It was then that he saw just how much he looked like his father. His long hair was not only a way to connect him to Jiraiya but a way to say he was his own person.

Sadly the fox could only speed up the hair growth so much and so far he could only make a low ponytail.

" I mean you pretty much stopped wearing your ponytail in the future so.." Lee said and Shikamaru touched his ponytail. Similar to Naruto after his father died Shikamaru could barely look into the mirror so he stopped putting his hair into a ponytail and left it loose.

It also helped that Temari had several nosebleeds in the first few weeks of this change.

" So what now?" Hinata asks her eyes automatically going to the area of her compound.

" We change" Naruto states with a slight smile. Standing up he looks down from the Hokage's head that he is standing on, taking in the sight of the village below.

" We've gone through the timeline once and didn't like the outcome, so let's change it dattebayo"
