Blurb: One doesn't know when the last threads of hope would snap.

But to Sivanesan 'Siva' Dilin, he sees them fray before his own eyes: a bedridden, cancer-stricken mother slowly slipping into delirium, his rent piling with every month, and his job rejection letters steadily chip away at his willpower. And when his mother starts calling him by his brother's name -- her other son separated from them in the Sri Lankan war -- Siva realises that he is responsible for her dying wish to see his face just once.

And in the failing pursuit of his own brother he struggles to even remember from his past, Siva finds himself being drawn closer and closer to Liang Qing Yuan, the part-time cook at his mother's palliative care. Quiet, disconcerted, yet full of ambitions, Qing Yuan might be the only one to show him what it means to hope. What it means to love.

And what it means to believe in miracles.

Short Review: This. Is. So. PRETTY! (Please insert the little heart eyes emoji here). This is one of those books that makes you wonder if it's prose or poetry. It's beautifully crafted with metaphors and there's just so much squished into such a small space -- it's like a song. The character's emotions are so raw and real and captivating. If you know me, you know I usually love a lot of dialogue but somehow this one just keeps me going through lengthy periods of description and emotion. I love it.

After only two chapters I have to say I am captivated by how connected I feel to the narrator, how realistic everything feels, how intense the topics, and how beautiful the words are written on the page. Do yourself a favour and grab a cup of tea and head on over to read Too Far to Forget by -dreamsinwords because I can almost guarantee you will not regret the time you spend there. So pretty!
