~Niall Horan~
We all got our heads up when the door slammed, as we didn't have any expected guests.
At the sight, we all jumped from our seats and stood around Beth. She can't be harmed. They can't take her.
I'm not going to let them take her.
We sent quick glances at each other, not knowing what to do suddenly. After all, the king's soldiers are in the house.
"Stop! Hands up!" shouted the lieutenant, who was holding a revolver, keeping it ready for attack.
Just as we were all about to move to obey his demand, James stopped us.
"They can't see us. I mean, they can't see the real thing. They think we are standing still with our hands raised. I can do this for maybe another minute, so quickly come up with something we can do to protect her," she glanced at Beth here.
You could see how desperate and clueless she was about the whole situation. Her gaze swirled around the room, as if she wasn't calm enough to pay attention to a single point.
"The main thing is to get the soldiers out of here and keep everyone safe. We need to take special care of Beth because she doesn't have any means to protect herself," Liam said.
He was right; Beth was really vulnerable, and these guys didn't look like they were coming to negotiate. They don't even think about it...
It is clear that the show of power would not work now, they serve the current ruler, who in turn probably ordered his daughter home. After all, the three days received expire at midnight. The limit, at the end of which the little lady should be in the palace.
"We'll take care of everyone," Louis nodded, squeezing Harry's clasped fingers soothingly.
"Okay, if you're done being cheesy with each other, I'll tell you the plan," Zayn said in a nervous voice. He's not angry at his friends, he's just frustrated by what's going on around us. Moreover, he cannot stand the nobles or those who have anything to do with them.
And the soldiers had a lot to do with the king, who is the worst of all. Sure, Beth puts up with him and he starts to like her, but that doesn't mean he likes her father too.
Louis rolled his eyes, but gave all his attention to Zayn. Just like everyone else.
"James, you should try to keep an actual mirage as long as you can. It is much easier to deal with them when they see something completely different from reality.
Niall, you try the manipulation to see if it helps us with something.
Harry, you stay in the back, kick a few in the ass if you really need to.
Louis, feel free to hand out your right hooks, but watch out for yourself in melee.
Liam, you inform me what their next step and plan is.
I try to control them, both physically and, if I manage to touch them, mentally.
Beth, stay behind and try not to die, but we hope they need you alive.
At his last utterance, he looked at her reproachfully, but she did not speak, only redirecting her worried gaze back to the soldiers standing near the door.
She was afraid. Everyone was afraid, but she was more than anything and everyone. For her, both sides mattered. She was the daughter of the king, their future ruler, for Heaven's sake. If she supports us now, no one will take her seriously in the future. At least, those present will not reward her.
"Beth... Beth," I said to her, and she broke out of her thoughts. "Listen to me, everything will be fine, but now you need to stay calm. You are the one who will not be harmed no matter what. Beth, do you understand what I'm saying? Everything will be alright" I was already standing in front of her and holding her shoulders as I spoke to her.
I wanted to make sure. I wanted Beth to believe my words and try not to get nervous. We need the authoritative Elizabeth. She may be the only one soldiers would listen to.
When she understood the essence of what I was saying, she looked deep into my eyes with her beautiful turquoise. I knew she was waiting for confirmation and seeking truth in my words.
I condensed all my sincerity into my gaze, and when her lips curled faintly upwards, I knew that all the information had reached its destination.
I walked away smiling back, and after a few seconds I saw puzzlement on the soldiers' faces. The mirage is over.
I knew they wouldn't stand still surprised for long, so I had to act immediately.
"Listen, how about we discuss all this?" I told them, and the experienced ones, who in this case are the boys, could already hear in my voice that I was trying to manipulate them.
"That won't work," Liam mumbled, and I was terrified that it would happen because he could see (~hear) into their heads and know anything.
"Gentlemen," said the future queen for the first time in some time. She stepped forward, leaving us behind, looking at them. ", it would be a real pleasure if you didn't aim up guns on us for a moment. It's terribly frustrating, especially when there's no need for it."
Hesitantly at her implied order, they tucked the dangerous device back into their belts, and Beth snapped one behind her back. Now we need to figure something out very quickly.
Zayn looked at Liam, who took the card and, I guess, passed it on to everyone in their minds that the black-haired man was trying to get the intruders to walk out of the house.
It was immediately noticeable that Z began to use his power, since the movement of the soldiers became more intermittent. Obviously, they were trying to break out of the supernatural obstacle.
The one who was probably the leader of the team resisted relatively for a while and was able to pull out his weapon, which he then pointed at us. Not a separate person, since he did not know which of us possessed the power that oppressed them.
Zayn used all his strength to turn a few around and lead them out the door, keeping the rest in one place.
I can't imagine how much concentration and effort it takes to override the will of about a dozen people...
Then, suddenly, everything stopped.
The one with the revolver fired his weapon as soon as he had the opportunity.
It felt like we had jumped forward several seconds in time.
All we could see was Louis grabbing to his chest and then collapsing on the ground.
We looked at each other with puzzled looks, then realized the gravity of the situation and looked anxiously at his figure lying on the ground.
Harry immediately knelt next to him and began to heal him, and we covered them and were careful not to get another gunshot wound.
The nervousness that emanated from me and Zayn - and everyone else for that matter - was able to take our abilities to a new level that made it easy to immobilize intruders with just a thought.
Manipulation and control met.
As soon as all sources of danger had been defused, we gathered around Louis, lying on the ground with his chest rising and falling quickly.
Harry did everything he could to heal and calm his friend.
"Everything will be alright, baby. We'll solve it, Lou. We'll solve everything, just hold on a little longer," he kept talking to him, even though his voice was shaking and his green eyes were full of tears.
He pressed his palm over Louis' chest and heart to try to ease it so that blood continued to leak from the wound. His hands had long been swimming in the red liquid, but he was not interested in anything except somehow saving the love of his life.
"It's okay Hazz, everything will be fine," Louis smiled faintly, speaking softly, gasping for air quickly. "You'll survive as always... We'll be alright..."
At his sentences, Harry shook his head, not accepting what his partner had just said.
"No, everything will be fine: you will survive, and then I will survive too. Please Louis, don't mess with me. Just keep quiet, let me concentrate," he pleaded, broken.
"Harry," said the blue-eyed man barely audible. "We'll be alright," he looked deeply into Harry's eyes, then smiled encouragingly.
"Lou..."
"I love you, Hazz," he said, and taking one last breath, his chest lowered.
Then it did not move anymore.
