The Eleventh of History's Strongest

"Where the hell have you been?" Was how her brother greeted her as she entered their VIP booth.

The whistle had just resounded for the end of the first half.

She only let out a groan before plopping on the seat next to Kinako's, sitting directly behind her best friend. Then, she dropped her forehead to his shoulder.

"Hey!"

"Borrowing."

"That's fine and all, but don't fall asleep before answering the question."

"Ugh... Have any of you ever heard of Clara Jane?"

"Who?" It surprised absolutely no one that Nishiki was first to ask. Though they couldn't hold it against him either since none of them knew either.

"Just wait for him. He'll explain every single detail."

As if on cue, a familiar voice boomed throughout the stadium.

"Looks like you need my power after all!" Zanark stood on one of the pillars of the stadium, smirking down at them with his arms crossed. He then jumped down just as the whole El Dorado Team 03 stood up to meet him. Most of their conversation was inaudible given how far they were, but his voice rang loud and clear when he called on Daisuke. "Stone grandpa! I kept my promise to you!"

"What promise?" Ichino asked.

"He made a deal with Daisuke-san that he was going to train until he's worthy of becoming the strongest eleventh player in history." Kimiko muttered.

"Exactly!" Zanark's voice came again. Daisuke the stone must've asked. "Do you want to hear it? You want to hear about my training ordeal, don't you? Then, I'll tell you! The average human isn't enough to power me up, am I right? That's why I travelled to all sorts of different time periods, searching for something that would give me real power."

"He really is about to spill every single detail." Aoyama sweatdropped.

"At one point, I fought with fierce beasts... At one point, I dealt with the heat of live magma... And at one point, I swam through a huge whirlpool."

"D-Did he drag you through all that?" Masato asked.

His sister shook her head. "No. He came to me on his final night, after he found the time period of and was about to go MixiMax with the one he chose... It was not fun."

"While searching for a MixiMax partner, at the same time, I put myself in harsh conditions to train myself. I felt as if something inside of me was spurring me on! That's when I finally met her! I found her! The perfect partner for me! I decided to MixiMax with her! ...Clara Jane. That's her name."

"I still can't recall any historical figure with that name." Kidou said, crossing his arms in thought.

Midori blinked. "If even Coach Kidou can't, then..."

"I made Clara Jane's bottomless power my own! Stone grandpa! Put me in the second half! As a forward!"

Gouenji seemed to be fine with it, switching Hikaru out.

"What kind of person is this Clara Jane?" Kinako asked.

Just as she was about to open her mouth, his voice came again. "Kiko! Don't you dare give any spoilers! This is my story to tell!"

She finally looked up, glaring at the green haired boy. "It's Kimiko! And after everything that happened, I don't even have the energy to think about it!" The answer got her a smirk. She groaned before leaning back to her seat. "Sorry, Kinako, but I meant what I said. I'll add in my own details when he's done."

"You really went through a lot, huh..."

The second half began with Team Garu's kickoff. They got through Taiyou and passed to Fei, who was their captain. He easily dodged past Zanark, and didn't bother to question why he did nothing, charging through Tenma and getting past all the midfielders. However, he was only bait. A forward had managed to slip past Torb as he was distracted, and there was no way for him to make it in time for a pass cut.

But he didn't have to.

"The hero shows up when you've forgotten all about him!" Zanark had run all the way back and took the ball, just as he did in the previous match.

"Zanark!"

"Surprised by these moves of mine? But this isn't all there is to the results of my training!" He made a long pass to the front as Fei charged at him. Reiza tried to get the ball, but was tackled by the enemy team. But before they could advance, Zanark was there again, taking the ball back.

"Do you guys want to know? I bet you want to know. About who Clara Jane is!" His opponents charged at him, but he dodged them easily. Almost playfully. "Hey, don't get in my way. I'm telling a good story right now."

He passed to Tenma, who gave it to Rei Rukh. As he advanced, Zanark ran through the field.

"Clara Jane brings calamity and destruction. Give me the ball!" He got it just as a midfielder tried to steal it with a slide. "Whoa there." He jumped over them, smirking. Then, he continued his story without a care. "She was so powerful, even I was close to being scared."

"I was the one sitting on the front, you prick."

"Kimiko. Language."

She grumbled, ignoring her brother's stare.

"What exactly happened?" Tsurugi finally decided to ask. It wasn't normal for her to call anyone that.

"Well... If I have to say it..."

"W-What's with the storm?" She asked the one she was leaning on. He was sitting up straighter than usual, allowing her to sit between his legs. "And why are you opening the glass?!"

He didn't respond, only smirking as they got closer and closer to the source. Soon, they slowed to a stop and a gigantic swirl of red wind and lightning came into view. She felt his grip tightening on her hands, which were holding on his bike's handles.

"This is... the worst hurricane in all of history, Clara Jane. We finally meet." He said. "You are the perfect one to MixiMax with me!"

"... Excuse me, what?"

He only stared up at the typhoon, as if admiring it. Suddenly, he glowed in a dark aura. "Again... My power is filled to the brim yet again..."

She frowned. "Hey, are you―"

His right hand griped even tighter, the engines roaring.

"Oh no, you can't be thinking..."

She let out a silent scream as the bike started back up at full speed.

"Hey, Kiko!"

"You're right by my ear! You don't have to yell!"

"Just making sure. I'm going to need you to watch the bike."

"Huh?"

"Don't worry. I'll put the glass back up."

Only then did she realize they were heading straight for the edge of the cliff.

"W-What?!"

"Here I go!"

They flew off. She didn't notice him pressing a certain button, or the yellow tint returning to her surroundings. She was far too distracted by how he jumped out and into the hurricane.

"WHAT?!"

"Fierce winds and rain." He continued. "She wasn't any ordinary hurricane. But I did not fear. I was urged on by the strange power that gushed within me!"

He was floating around inside it. Suddenly, his power started pulsing again.

"What? What's going on?"

A crimson lightning bolt crashed on to him in his confusion. He let out a scream as its bright light and his dark aura seemed to blend together. It then dispersed, leaving only light.

He let out a laugh. "Now, I'm the strongest in history of the lower middle class!"

"MixiMax with a giant hurricane?!"

"Seriously?!"

"How is that possible?!"

They can hear the shock and disbelief in Hayami, Hamano, and Tenma's voices.

"I don't know!" Was Zanark's reply.

"He answered so confidently too..."

"But there is one thing I do know! The moment I touched the Chrono Stone, I felt something fierce pour into me. It was only after that happened that something broke out restlessly inside of me. That power that roused me up... It kept coming back inside my head again and again. Even that time."

"The other Chrono Stone..." Kidou muttered. "It's got to be Endou."

"Zanark's true power was unleashed because of him." Kimiko sighed. "And because his powers went berserk while it was still in me, a chain reaction happened. It caused my own to go out of control."

"But his power was supposed to be suppressing yours." Tsurugi pointed out.

"Power is power no matter what it's meant to be used for. The thing that gives it purpose is the one controlling it. If it's gone wild like that, then that doesn't really matter."

"Makes sense in theory, I guess, seeing you're both SSC." Masato muttered. "Well then, we heard about what happened to him, but what about you? He left you on his bike, and then...?"

She clicked her tongue before sighing again. "That thing is a lot sturdier than it looks... Though, I guess that's to be expected from future technology. I crashed into the cliff, but I didn't get hurt and it was still completely intact."

"Y-You crashed?!"

"Like I said, I'm fine... physically." She groaned before leaning her forehead on her friend's shoulder again. "But I don't want to see another wind ever again."

"You're in luck then, because wind is invisible."

"Well, that's... Yeah. Okay. Thanks for that fact check, Kyou."

"You're welcome."

His head was pushed down as a response.

Down on the pitch, the game resumed, with Zanark still having possession of the ball. "Guess I've talked a little too much." He was suddenly surrounded by four people, but not a hint of worry was present on his face. "The weaker you are, the louder you bark. But you know what's next, right? I'm strong, but I have a loud bark! Now that I have the ultimate strength, I'LL BARK AND BARK AND BARK ALL OVER!"

A bright light engulfed him.

"Mixi Trans, Super Zanark!"

All but one of his hair ties had disappeared, his long hair flowing out in spikes. The part of it behind his head turned white, tied back with a red hairclip. His eyes went from dark red to bright gold.

"This is my new form, MixiMaxed with the giant hurricane Clara Jane! Zanark, otherwise known as Super Zanark! Call me that from now on!"

"That's... a unique name...?" Nishiki sweatdropped.

Kimiko let out a strange noise. It was something between a groan and a wheeze. "Honestly, if he wasn't a soccer player, he'd make a good entertainer, that's for sure."

"Here I go!"

Three defenders blocked his path. Tenma called out to him and received the ball. It surprised them, especially seeing how he tried to do everything himself in the previous match. With the single moment's reaction, he was able to run past them.

"Hey, over here!"

"It's yours!"

Getting the ball back, he ran straight to the goal. "Take this! This is my new hissatsu technique! I resurrect it right here and now!"

The ball floated up to his chest as his hands were charged with lightning. A bright golden storm surrounded him, the ball engulfed with that same lightning.

"Great Max na Ore!"

He flew even further up before kicking the ball with his sole.

"SUPER!"

The energy ball headed for the goal, the golden storm trailing behind it.

Garu's goalkeeper called on his keshin, Hakubishin Tamazusa, and used Shikigami Lines, but it was broken through. Zanark scored the first goal for El Dorado Team 03.

"See that, stone grandpa?" He said, turning to the bench. "Who am I right now? Say it!"

"Yes! You are indeed power number eleven of the strongest eleven in history! An all-rounder who pierces through all with the powers of the scorching hot wind and earth-shattering thunder!"

"I thought you'd say that." He smirked. And Tenma's praise only boosted his ego further, making him boom in laughter.
