They time travelled to roughly two years in the past. As soon as they arrived, they hopped out of the caravan and breathed in the unfamiliar air.

"We're here." Wondaba stated.

"This is where Master D is..." Fei added.

They took a good look at the scene before them. The only building around was a fairly small hospital. The tall trees and colorful flowers, as well as the sound of waves crashing to the shore, made it clear it was a tropical area. But what really brought smiles to their faces were the children running around, kicking a ball in the hospital's garden.

"They're playing soccer!"

"Yeah."

"It feels like we haven't seen scenery like this in a long time."

"Soccer sure is great."

The calm and comforting mood was immediately trashed when Nishiki opened his mouth to complain. "Still, it's way too hot here!"

"It doesn't look like we're in Japan."

Wandaba pulled out a pair of sunglasses as he replied to Shinsuke. "This is the tropical country of the Tongattor Republic. Endou Daisuke is in this hospital."

"Is he ill?" Aoi asked.

"It would appear so."

"I see."

It was decided that Kidou would go and see Endou Daisuke on his own first, as he is the only one who actually knows him in person. However, within a few minutes, he returned with a grim look on his face. He told them how he was ultimately turned down so now they had to figure out some other way to decode it.

While they were all brainstorming, Kimiko noticed Aoi slipping away with the book, but kept quiet. She knew Aoi to be a bit of a 'Tenma' and believed that if anyone could convince the old man, it'll be her. Though, the moment she noticed her return was also the moment another blue haired girl appeared before them.

They went to the back of the hospital, where a soccer field was at. The girls went to the benches with their coach, while the players got to their positions. Fei snapped his fingers and summoned his Duplis, duplications of himself but with a variety of appearances.

"Whoa, my yakisoba spatulas turned into a mic!" A man suddenly said. Kimiko caught the split second both the mic and the man's eyes glowed, before he began commentating like a true emcee. "Five members of Raimon, including Fei and the Dupli to make up eleven, go up against Protocol Omega 2.0 led by Beta! With the holy book of champions that will shape the future of soccer on the line, neither of them can afford to lose this game!"

It started with Beta's kick off. Einam brought it up the field, with Quarth and Reiza right behind him. Tenma stole the ball with Wonder Trap, but it was immediately taken back by Reiza, who passed it to Quarth. He passed a Dupli and used Spinning Upper against Shinsuke. Then he passed it to Einam, who scored against Excellent Breast with Plasma Ball.

Next was Raimon's kick off. Tsurugi moved up the field, baiting Quarth and Einam right until the last second before passing it back to a Dupli, who passed it to Shindou, getting through them. Shindou dodged a double slide tackle and passed to Tenma. The brunette called out his keshin and tried to arm himself to go against the two larger bodied defenders before him, but because he couldn't focus, it failed and the ball was stolen from him by Gaura. Gaura passed the ball to Quarth, and it went to Reiza before reaching Einam.

But right before he could score, Beta came up behind him, asking for a turn to shoot.

"This is how you use Keshin Armed."

Kimiko blinked. Did her eyes just change...?

"Come out! Kokuu no Megami, Athena!" A tall woman with blue wings for hair and two guns came out of her back. "Armed!"

Beta, in her new white armor, lifted her leg up high before slamming it down on the ball, splitting it into two.

"Shoot Command 07!"

"Double Shot."

She jumped and used both feet to kick a ball each. The ball converged as it headed straight for the goal.

"Goal! Protocol Omega 2.0 wins their second point!" Two whistles came. "The first half ends here!"

"What do we do...?" Nishiki asked as soon as the team got to the benches.

"At this rate, we'll be beaten before we even have a chance to decipher the notebook." Shinsuke muttered.

"What's with those depressed looks?"

They turned to see who the new voice came from.

"Grandpa!"

"Grandpa?"

"He's Coach Endou's grandfather." Aoi explained to Tenma.

"Him?!"

Kimiko gave a small smile. "So you did manage to convince him. Good job, Aoi!"

"So you're Master D!" Fei exclaimed.

"Master D, eh? Is that how I'm called in the future?"

Kidou's eyes widened. "Then, you believe us?"

"Of course." He turned to face the players, their images reflected on his glasses. "You all have a good look in your eyes. Alright! I'll be the coach for this game!"

"Eh?!"

"You didn't come here to tell us about the strongest eleven in history?" Aoi asked.

"The strongest eleven?"

"Is that what's written in the Holy Book of Champions?"

"I'll save that for later. For now, we've gotta win this match." Well, he's right about that. "The key to winning it is... 3D!"

The second half began with Fei's kick off, Tsurugi heading up. Blocked by Einam, he made a back pass towards Shindou.

3D... Does he mean to use the skies and not just the ground?

"Should you be thinking of something else during the game?" Beta asked, cutting his route.

Thinking fast, Shindou passed to Tenma.

3D! Maybe one of the 'D's is dribbling! Because his focus was off, Tenma lost the ball and it went out of bounds.

In the next kick off, Tsurugi started with the ball again. 3D... Something that pops out... Keshin? "Kensei Lancelot! Armed!" The large knight appeared out of his back and dispersed, surrounding his body, only to dissipate. Quarth stole the ball from him.

"Oh... Is he trying to fuse with his keshin?" Daisuke asked.

"Yeah..." Kimiko nodded. "Of course that'll be his first thought..."

"Did you say something, kiddo?"

"No, it's nothing."

"Maybe the 'D' means defense?" Shinsuke muttered. "Does that mean we need three defenders?"

Reiza, who had the ball, passed it to Beta. She did a regular shot, which Shinsuke was just barely able to block with Buttobi Jump. The ball was back in Raimon's possession, and Fei brought it up.

"We have to find out what 3D means fast..."

"Leave that to me!" Nishiki called from behind him. Fei gave him the ball, and as he shouted, "Daringly! Dynamically! Dive in and duel! They all start with 'D', so it's 3D!" His foot missed the ball, sending it flying.

Seeing Midori's facepalm, Kimiko gave a wry smile. "You should still give him points for enthusiasm."

"I can get that!" Tenma yelled. "Nishiki-senpai! Bend down!"

"O-Okay!" The older boy did, and Tenma pushed a foot up his back, sending himself up into the air.

However, a pink haired girl got to it before he did, and headbutted it out the border.

Landing back down, Tenma sighed. "It didn't work..."

"You almost had it." Nishiki said, standing up with a smile and thumbs up.

"Sorry to use you as a stepping ladder. It was only a second, but they had a delayed reaction. So I thought I could get it."

"Because the ball went in an unexpected direction?" Right as he finished asking, Shindou's eyes went wide. "Unexpected... Three-dimensional... The key to winning..."

"That's it." Kidou seemed to have reached the same conclusion he did. "Everyone! Connect the scattered dots! Use all of the space there is above the field!"

They all gave a firm nod.

"What's this?! A space opened up in Raimon's middle field! Reiza runs towards it!"

Just as she realized it was a trap, Shindou stole the ball from her and kicked it into the air. Shinsuke used his jumping ability to get it and send it to a Dupli. The passes continue in all kinds of directions.

"Raimon is using the air fully and connecting their passes three-dimensionally!"

The final pass was Tsurugi to Tenma, the latter jumping over Nishiki once again for a boost.

"That's...!"

"A hissatsu tactic that will help them pass the ball without interference!"

"Majin Pegasus Arc! Armed!"

With the boosts from all the previous passes, Tenma's regular shot with his Keshin Armed was able to knock back all the defenses and into the goal.

"Yes!"

"You did it!"

"That was an awesome plan!"

"As expected of the legendary Master D!"

"It was a hint to a new hissatsu tactic, wasn't it?" Kidou smiled.

"Now, I don't know about that." Daisuke replied nonchalantly. "Whatever it is you guys found... is the right answer."

I knew right away once I saw the team. They were withering up in the face of a strong opponent. I could've said anything as advice. What they needed was the courage to plunge in and do what they do. That was all they were missing.

Kimiko's eyes went wide at that. He wasn't even here for the first half of the match, and immediately he knew how to help them. She's heard a million things about him from her relatives, but even so, she never thought that he would be this amazing. She supposed he's a legend for a reason.

In the next kick off, Einam made the mistake of passing to Fei instead of Beta.

"Mixi Trans, Tyranno!" He dashed through and scored with Ancient Fangs, tying the score.

"The match resumes! The ferocity of Protocol Omega 2.0's attacks increases! In Raimon, Matsukaze's Keshin Armed and Fei's Mixi Trans are being guarded against so that the ball does not reach them!"

Shindou managed to get the ball back from them. "Tsurugi!"

"Kensei Lancelot! Armed!" The knight dispersed into shadows again, but the armor failed to take shape, causing him to lose the ball.

"No good..." Midori muttered.

"He almost had it..." Aoi nodded.

"No, he didn't." Kimiko frowned. "He has enough power and skill to do it, that's true. But there's something wrong with the way he's doing it..."

"Hey, pointy-head!" Daisuke called.

Kimiko couldn't help a snort when her best friend turned around immediately.

"If there's nothing else you got, just eat your keshin!"

"Eat... my keshin?"

The thumbs up was not helping.

"Only a few minutes remain! It looks like whoever makes the next point will decide the match!"

Tsurugi got through their defenses once again and summoned his Kensei Lancelot.

"Think he'll get it this time?" Midori asked.

"Well­­―"

I see... I was trying to equip my keshin on the outside. Instead of doing that, I should try fusing it inside myself!

The blonde girl gave a smile. "Yeah, I think he's got it."

"Armed!" And the shadows equipped themselves on him in the form of red and silver armor, a red cape flowing freely from his shoulders.

"Yes!"

"You did it!"

He put the last of his energy into the kick, and it broke through Boom Shout easily.

"Alright!" Aoi cheered.

"Now it's certain we've won!" Midori said, pumping her fists.

"Let's hope so." Daisuke muttered.

Great job, Kyou!

Thanks. The game's not over yet, though.

Slash through them, Mister Knight!

She could just barely see him roll his eyes in the distance.

"Ghost MixiMax!"

The next kick off started with a dark purple aura surrounding Beta and spreading to the rest of her teammates. Kimiko swore her eyes had changed again.

"Crush them!"

Einam pushed through Tenma and Tsurugi easily. Shindou was also blown away along with a Dupli.

"That's... Beta's divided her power with the rest of them!"

"Leader!" Einam passed it to Beta, who summoned her Kokuu no Megami, Athena and went armed.

She used Double Shot and it pushed past Shinsuke, who was half way through summoning his own keshin. The score was tied 3 to 3.

And it just keeps going downhill. In the last minute, they were able to destroy them and win 5 to 3.
