Round Two

ROUND TWO

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: SEPTEMBER 1st AT MIDNIGHT

-I know all of your time zones so you must post it before midnight at your time. This means it might be past midnight where I am when you post it as well. I will check if this is the case if it pops up-

Congratulations to @1bluewriter1, @Nonja18, @TheAlienOnEarth, @ohbaby22, @ValkyrieRyder, @puddean, @tardisaddiction, @ErinThorpeDowney, @SilverRaine, and @benaddicted2sherlock, you have made it on to the next round! We have ten contestants left now, which means only half of you are going to make it to the final round after this.

@puddean, you have won first place this round with a score of 96%! Great job! Your advantage will be that you get two extra days to complete your one shot. Please PM me with the link when you're done.

Second place for round one goes to both @benaddicted2sherlock and @Nonja18, each with a score of 95%! You will both get one day extra to complete your one shot. Please PM me the link to it when it has been posted.

Sorry to @HumbleHedgehog98, @BlueEyedIridescence, @ClaraOswinOswald, @cumberbabe313, @MySuperWhoLock, and @PiperBueche, you have been eliminated either from not making the deadline or for having the lowest scores. But do not fret! You are all fantastic writers and should take this as a learning experience to help improve your writing. Who knows? Maybe in the next OSA competition, you'll end up the winner. I've seen it happen in other writing competitions before!

Sometimes Sherlock and John have to work alone, seperated from one another. Sherlock prefers texting to keep in touch. But we all know that being alone makes you more likely to fall prey to horrors.

That will be your challenge this time around. The genre of your one shot must be thriller! Since the genre for that on here is mystery/thriller, that works out quite nicely, I think.

You also must feature a portion your story where Sherlock and John part ways during the adventure, and communicate through text messages.

You will be judged on plot, orginality, detail, grammar and spelling, how well you completed the given challenges, and how realistic your characters are, just like last round. The same rules from before apply here.

Again, the top two scores will win an advantage. First place gets the biggest advantage, second place gets one of a smaller sort. Ties will be handled by sending out another judge and averaging out the scores. Let me just say, the advantage for the final round might make or break your entry, so do your very best.

Remember how I told you that winning in these first two rounds will help you in the end? Well, here's how.

Winning 1st place in either of the first two rounds will give you 1 point in your final score. Winning 2nd place in either of the first two rounds will give you 0.5 points in your final score.

It might not sound like much, but let me explain. Every time you win first or second place, you get those points. This means if you win first place both times, you'll get 2 points. This is added on to your overall score, averaged from all of the rounds! This will make a big difference.

Say your final average is a 94.6 from all of the rounds, and you won second place in the first round and first place in the second round. Confusing, I know. But that gives you 1.5 more points. Now, that'll be added on to your final average to give you a total score of 96.1. Yeah, now you see how much of a difference it makes! That can be the difference between winning and losing in a close competition!

You must finish your one shot and post a link to it here in a comment before midnight on September 1st! The judging period will be completed on the 6th, and then results and the final round posted on the 7th.

Good luck to all!
