Chapter 6

Percy grinned the whole train ride. Valerie was watching him, trying to figure out how to convince Dumbledore to let Percy into the seventh years when he had no prior training. Perhaps her mother had already taken care of everything, considering she was a goddess and all. That wouldn't stop Valerie though. Valerie was also determined to help the poor boy fall in love again, however she wasn't going to use her mothers signature tricks. She was going to do it the old fashioned way.

"I'm thinking you have a type and I'm going to guess it." Percy turned to look at her with confusion. "Nod your head if I'm right, and shake your head if I'm wrong. Okay?" She added.

Percy watched her for a moment before nodding his head 'yes' the way she asked. As much as he wanted his voice back, he wasn't so sure that he wanted it back right away. He had over heard Molly Weasley, the mother, saying that most spells learned at Hogwarts were verbally said. Percy wasn't even close to magic so the only thing he'd probably not fail with no voice was something called potions.

"Great. Okay, I'm thinking you like brunettes?" She asked.

Percy thought back to every person he even considered attractive. Jason, Annabeth, Apollo, even Luke. He vigorously shook his head to discard the feeling of tears pooling in his eyes.

"Okay, I'm going to skip black hair and move straight to blonde then?"

Percy nodded and turned back to the window.

"How about smart?" Another nod. Valerie stopped asking him questions when she realized that he was distracted.

Valerie wanted to ask her mother about Percy and his former girlfriend, and why it's so important for him to fall in love again. She was debating sending a mental message when a girl about Percy's age already in her robes stopped by the door. She had dirty blonde hair, almost light brown, pretty blue eyes, and light pink lips. Which, Valerie was almost dumbfounded when the girl bit the bottom one.

"Excuse me, are you Percy Jackson? I received a note from professor McGonagall yesterday asking me to show you around and bring you to the headmaster so you can get sorted." When the girl was done talking, she bit her bottom lip again like she wasn't sure she got the right compartment.

Percy looked over from the window and let his eyes grow wide. Then he nodded and motioned for the girl to sit beside him in the compartment. Valerie watched the girl, cursing the way she swung for a small moment, as she breathed a sigh of relief. She sat down and turned to face Percy.

"I'm Livia Williams, I'm in Hufflepuff. You can call me Liv." Liv said, holding out her hand. Percy took it and gave her a grin. Then he pulled out a pad of paper and wrote out that he didn't have a voice and couldn't talk.

Valerie watched with interest until it hit her that Percy and Liv were getting along really well. She knew that Liv had to be a sixth or seventh year, only because Valerie hadn't seen her in any class with the other third years last year. She smiled at the way Percy furiously scribbled on the paper, and the way that Liv tried her best to read what he wrote because of Percy's dyslexia. Maybe she was the girl that would make him speak again.
