We didn't have anything and we didn't want anything

I

There was a time when Antonia, my girlfriend and I, were old Bodhissatvas. Soon after we met, we didn't have anything and we didn't want anything. We loved each other only because of what we thought was a great universal energy and thanks to the influence of our friends we suddenly discovered that almost all the answers were in the Buddha.

I remember Antonia with her smile and the locks of blonde hair that outlined her cheeks asking: "What is a Bodhissatva really?"

"A Bodhisattva is an Enlightened being among living beings and also one who helps others achieve Enlightenment. Practice the six perfections (six paramitas): bounty, morality, patience, vigor, concentration and wisdom, and thousands of virtuous practices, but renounce full Nirvana until all other beings have been released " they answered her.

We lived in a small rented studio facing the sea, high, very high, a huge building on the rocks and waves of Cala Millor, a tourist area east of Mallorca. On our terrace we repeated without ceasing the Four Noble Truths united in the endless passion of the Tao practitioners. We were barely twenty years old and then the stage that we would call "our time on the PATH" began.

Those at the beginning were Mahayana times and also Vajrayana times. Days in which we toured, Antonia and I, the paths along the rocks of the sea with new and brand new mountain boots and backpacks so loaded that since then we didn't know to walk without a weight on our backs.
