The next morning Antonia got up beside me and went out naked to the terrace, and the early July sun licked her tiny, pointed breasts and painted them crimson. Then I saw her, from our mattress on the floor, raise her open palms and extend her arms. She closed her eyes and remained motionless while the clouds passed over her. Then she came in, gave me a smile and dressed.
Two hours later, she returned with a great camping equipment packed in two large backpacks that still gave off a pungent odor of tar. She had spent almost all the money we had saved for the next two months of rent. I stared at her, standing, naked on the mattress and the scattered sheets and we agreed.
-We expect some more interesting things than this - we said.
We tested the equipment right away. What I liked the most (the most expensive) were the large and cozy Gore-tex lined trekking boots. "Fuck, with these boots you can climb up to a burning volcano!" I exclaimed, and Antonia laughed.
-They are also for snow. If your volcano retains the snowy peak you can walk through the edge of ice over the lava abyss and get out of there as if nothing - said.
We tied our backpacks and went out to hang out with the new equipment for a few hours, but we returned to write to the owner of the apartment some notes about the true meaning of the Dharma and Buddhist Compassion to explain why we're not going to pay him two months' rent we owed.
