Chapter 30
It was finally time for the big night of the wedding. After waking, the clan all separated to do each of the things that the two different genders would do before the ceremony. The female gargoyles greeted Elisa upon awakening, and they took her with them back to the castle.
In their separate quarters, Kita and Brooklyn decided to take showers since even though they usually didn't, it was their special wedding night so they both knew they wanted it to be special.
With Kita, she stepped into her own shower and began to try washing her hair after taking out her pins and such, feeling nervous but excited about marrying the gargoyle she loved, which was in the next few hours before sunrise preferably.
For Brooklyn, he was quite relieved to be in a shower, which felt rather good on him. He stretched out his arms in the warm water falling down on his back, eyes closed in content despite being slightly nervous, for this was a big step in his life to do after so many failed romances.
Once Kita was done, she had her hair dried before soon Fox, Elisa, Kaori and Angela got together to help with her kimono and Kaori and Angela did up her hair in the traditional Japanese woman's bride hairdo with the kanzashi hair tie that held it up. Brooklyn was to undo the hair tie after their ceremony for when they finally mated.
Owen, Xanatos, and the rest of the males also ensured that Brooklyn looked good on his end with the tux Owen had specially done to fit him with his wings.
Brooklyn himself didn't normally like to wear clothes like this but he did note it fit alright, David adjusting it some more. Brooklyn felt his heart beat a million miles, struggling to breathe. Lex noticed.
"You scared?" He asked teasingly.
Brooklyn glared back but somewhat nodded. "I-I suppose. J-just don't want things to go wrong," he stuttered. Hudson took his hand.
"Ye'll be fine, lad. We're all happy for ye to find the special female. Kita will be a good mate." He said gently. Brooklyn swallowed but smiled again from the reassuring words.
"Thanks, Hudson. I know she will." Brooklyn smiled and agreed. The more it was getting time to do the ceremony, he was getting much more nervous, feeling some butterflies in his belly. He kept on thinking about what his speech would be to Kita. He also couldn't wait to hear hers.
The rest of the clan also proceeded to take showers too. It was just nice to be smelling clean for a wedding.
"What are we going to do with Bronx and Siveth?" Lex asked.
"Take them to my bedroom, you and Broadway." Hudson ordered. "They mustn't get into the food."
"Alright, Hudson." Broadway replied.
The two brothers got a hold of the two gar dogs and carried and led them away. Bronx and Siveth whined that they couldn't be part of the action. "Sorry, you two, but you can't be making a mess out with the guests tonight." Lex declared.
Once they got them to Hudson's room, they locked them in. They whined in protest. Lex then unlocked the door. "Aww! You guys make it so hard to leave you alone." He said.
"I got it. Keep them company until I get back." Broadway declared. He left to get something for the gar dogs. Lex kept them calm while they waited.
Broadway returned with some meat for both of them and some dog bones to chew on. It would help to keep them distracted. Water was also provided.
"Okay, you guys be good. We'll let you out before sunrise." The aqua male said as he and Lexington now left their pets to themselves. They were distracted now by the food.
Lex and Broadway hurried back to the wedding arrangements. Broadway had to finish helping to cook the dinner too.
...
Kita looked so nice in her red kimono. It matched her skin color almost. There were cranes on the bottom of it and flowers. She hoped Brooklyn would like seeing her like this.
"You think Brooklyn will like me in this?" she asked Angela.
"You are so beautiful, Kita. I know he will love you in it. Rather, he'll be astounded. But he loves you. He'd be wanting to marry you no matter how you're dressed." Angela explained.
Even Kita was nervous about her ceremony. She and Kaori had gone over with the clan that Hudson was to give her away. The elder had been pleased to do so.
In Japanese weddings, there was also a ritual called San-San-Kudo. It was to drain a cup of sake that was rice wine in exactly three sips. But they decided they were going to skip this ritual and have more of a western style wedding on that part. They were going to also utilize some of the Scottish Clan's traditions.
....
Around the hour of ten pm, the guests started arriving for the wedding. Everyone looked nice. Matt, Elisa's parents and Beth, the mutates and clones. Hudson had even brought over his friend, Robbins. Everyone was glad to be here. Though Brooklyn's friends Dave and Bobbi sadly couldn't come.
The Great Hall looked fabulous to have a wedding ceremony. Everything was ready. There weren't really any gifts as gargoyles had no need for much aside from the basic necessities. Everyone had been told to come to the party hungry too, to save their appetites for the dinner party.
Goliath came to check on Brooklyn. "Are you ready to start, Brooklyn?" he asked.
"I just feel so nervous, Goliath. I hope I can hold it together." Brooklyn replied.
"You'll be fine. You've always been a strong male in our clan. You have a strong will of character. I know you went through a lot while you were gone but you let your strong will help you live and you found the love of your life." Goliath explained in a fatherly manner to him. "And tonight, you will finally be allowed to join with her. Our clans will be united as one with your reunion."
"Thanks, Goliath. That means a lot to me." The red Second smiled with some slight tears in his eyes. It did mean a lot to him. "Yes, I'm ready."
"Let's go then." Goliath declared.
Brooklyn followed his leader to the Great Hall and went to the front of the room. The guests were all waiting for them. Now they just needed to wait for the bride. Brooklyn even thought he could feel the presence of Sasha there with him as well, like she came from heaven to see the wedding.
Brooklyn couldn't help but wonder too if his bride was going to be wearing a white dress and veil, or something Japanese. He hadn't been told of it. That had been a female surprise. A part of the Japanese tradition.
Broadway came up to join Brooklyn's side as his Best Man. He had a wedding gift that Brook was going to give to Kita. Kita had one for him too. Kaori was her Maid of Honor.
Brooklyn was trembling and breathing hard. He was also sweating. Goliath noticed. "Take deep breaths, Brooklyn." The red male tried to do that to remain calm.
In Kita's room, she was ready, and she was nervous too. She had a bouquet of flowers in her hands. Hudson came to her door and came in.
"You look lovely, Lass." Hudson complimented her.
"Thanks, Hudson-san. I'm so nervous." Kita said.
"It's normal for jitters before the joining of a couple." The elder male stated. "But ye must not give into the fear. Like anything else that is stressful, but this is a joyous occasion. Ye are going to be joined with your love finally."
"I know. Just all the attention and all the preparations that went into this." Kita said simply.
"We were glad to do this for ye both. Our clan needs something special like this." Hudson declared. "Are ye ready to go?"
She took a deep breath and felt refreshed. "Yes, I'm ready."
Kita took Hudson's left arm, and he led her out of the room. She was glad that Hudson was walking her down the aisle. It felt reassuring of a father/grandfather figure.
They soon got to the Great Hall. Owen was playing the wedding music. The doors swung open, and the guests all stood up for the bride. Kaori was waiting for her up at the altar.
Kita looked straight ahead, and she saw the love of her life standing at the altar ready for her to come to him. He looked so handsome and the look on his face was so welcoming and loving. She smiled back with tears in her eyes.
Brooklyn couldn't believe he was seeing Kita like this. She was so beyond gorgeous in his eyes. Her wings were folded behind her, as were his, the wing hands on his shoulders and hers too. He was indeed surprised seeing her wearing a red kimono instead of a usual white dress.
Hudson and Kita were now walking up the aisle with all the guests smiling at them. To the guests, they were happy for Brooklyn that he had finally found someone special.
They got to the end of the aisle and stood. Brooklyn then came towards them and took Kita's arm in his. Hudson gave Kita a little peck on the cheek. "Go on, Lass." He urged her. Then he went to be by Robbins.
"You all may be seated." Goliath said as Brooklyn and Kita now stood before him. The guests all sat down.
"We are gathered here this fine evening to celebrate the union of Brooklyn and Kita. I, Goliath, leader of the Manhattan Clan, bless your union to become mates. Brooklyn and Kita have prepared their own vows to say to one another." Goliath announced their union and his blessing.
Brooklyn and Kita were holding hands and staring into each other's eyes. Broadway came up first to hand his brother Kita's wedding gift. Brooklyn took it out of the box.
"I, Brooklyn, Second in Command of the Manhattan Clan, promise to always love and cherish you, Kita. I have searched for a long time to find someone to complete my life. It took an eventful fate to find you on the other side of the world while trying to get home. I've waited a thousand years to find you, my love. You showed me such kindness and compassion when I was a stranger in your clan. We have been through enough together that I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you." Brooklyn gave his speech. He opened up the bracelet that he then placed around Kita's left wrist.
Kita couldn't help but let loose some tears. She loved his speech. "And I, Kita of the Ishimura Clan, give you my heart for always, Brooklyn-san. I was drawn to what happened with you and didn't want you to give up. I was determined to help you get better and I was drawn to your kindness and brave heart. You complete my life too. I will love and cherish you for as long as I live." She gave her speech.
Kaori gave Kita Brooklyn's gift too. Kita opened up his bracelet as well and placed it on his left wrist. Then they kissed.
The guests were all touched by their wedding speeches to each other and now the kiss. They all broke out in cheers and clapping for the lovely couple.
"The Manhattan and Ishimura Clans are now united at their reunion." Goliath announced proudly.
Lex and Kaori knew that their union would be based on the same thing when it was their turn.
Next, Brooklyn and Kita finished kissing and then it was time for everyone to file out of the Great Hall to witness the mating flight of the newly married couple.
They all filed outside, and Brooklyn and Kita got up to the highest tower and they spread their wings from off their shoulders and took to the air as mates for the first time.
There were acrobatics done in the air for the spectators and holding of hands as eventually, Brooklyn caught Kita in his arms, and he came in for a landing. He hoped he had done everything right. The real mating would only be in private later.
Everyone clapped and cheered again for their approval of their union. Then came another kiss and hug.
When they broke apart, Brooklyn then said, "So, who's hungry?" It was now time for the meal.
The food was in the Great Hall too. There were tables to use. Of course, this wasn't the biggest wedding ceremony, but it was big enough.
Everyone got the food they wanted and ate to their delight. Then came the dancing. Cake would be a while yet.
The female guests danced with Brooklyn. Males danced with Kita. And they danced together. It was fun night.
When it came time for the cake cutting, one piece was cut and Brooklyn and Kita both fed each other a slice of cake. Then everyone else got to have some cake too. Then there was more dancing to some rocking music.
The newly wedded couple was able to dance to their chosen song, which was the best moment ever for Brooklyn, the smile never leaving his face while he stared into Kita's beautiful eyes. He couldn't believe now he was really married.
Soon, the party eventually died down once it was now 4 am, and they knew that eventually, the couple had to have their official mating together. Brooklyn himself felt nervous again when realizing that was about to happen but knew inside, he was ready.
The wedding guests bade the couple farewell as the Labyrinth Clan left along with the clones. Owen being the one to find the best room for Kita and Brooklyn to have their privacy for mating. Lex and Broadway went to get the gar dogs out as well.
They were both pretty tired from all the partying but were eager to get the final parts of the mating done, following Owen to a nice private guest room away from the rest of the clan.
When Owen opened the door for them, he said good morning and closed it. Brooklyn and Kita liked what they had in their room, which was one bed along with a couch and a private restroom. Brooklyn gave her a hug and another kiss.
"I-I hope you're ready," he said to her nervously, Kita nodding.
"You know what you have to do?" she asked.
Brooklyn swallowed but nodded after the two undressed first, the red male next hugged his new mate, undoing her kanzashi from her hair, closing his eyes while they kept up their kissing, now officially mates for life, turning to stone in the morning after their fun time together.
