Chapter 20

Over the hours flying over the ocean, Fox talked to Brooklyn about something of his adventures. His not-so-nice adventures. She even asked about his tail as she had noticed it looked different.

Brooklyn was still deeply ashamed of his tail looking like it was. But hopefully, Puck could fix it when he got home.

There was also some better talk of how Brooklyn met Kita and how they made friends. Some of the things Kita had shown him and even how Kita had been kidnapped to lure Brooklyn into a trap too by Taro, the same man who Goliath and Angela had dealt with.

Fox wondered how the clan would react to a few new gargoyles coming to stay with them. The new females were going to be ambassadors to their country. Siveth would also be able to give Bronx some company.

"How was the clan when you left them?" Brooklyn asked Fox.

"They're fine. They've been missing you for all these months you've been gone. But they were more than thrilled to know that you're alright and coming home to them." Fox explained.

"I bet. I missed them too, every night." Brook stated.

After seven hours in the air, the plane was soon descending to Newark airport.

The landing was a bit unnerving for everyone but they landed safely. There was still a couple of hours before dawn. Most of their night had been flying.

Owen was waiting with a limousine at the airport. The plane was soon grounded. They had made it home finally, at least to solid ground again safely. It had taken over twenty-one hours to do all that flying. At least the gargoyles hadn't had to glide here.

There were ground crew men walking about around the planes. There was one man in particular who had once worked alongside Yegor and his men and he had gotten fed up with his ex-boss and had come here to Newark, close to New York City.

He was taking notes on a clipboard of the plane's contents aboard and that was when he saw some gargoyles getting off a plane via the steps. One of them looked familiar. It was that red one that escaped Yegor and the men! But then, he also saw two others following him. They looked female too. There was also a squirming little one in one of the female's arms. Was it a baby? Hmm. This could be quite intriguing.

The man knew he had to call Yegor even though he didn't want to associate with him much anymore. But he knew Yegor would be willing to pay handsomely for telling him where his lost prize had gotten to.

He quickly went to a secret hiding spot behind a building to call his old boss on his cellphone.

The phone rang and the man heard Yegor on the phone. "Yes?"

"It is me, Andrew, I think I found your gargoyle." Grinned Andrew despite not liking hearing Yegor's voice anymore. He heard his boss laugh. "How wonderful. You will be paid most handsomely. And I will get my little prize back to Russia with me..." Yegor sneered over the phone.

...

At the castle, Elisa and the others prepared to go to the runway at Newark to greet with the private plane that was flying Brooklyn back to New York. Broadway and Lexington were both excited but worried about what Brooklyn would now look like since the last time they saw him and prayed that Fox would really fly him back safely.

The group all arrived in David's helicopter and made their way out onto the runway. It was nearly sunrise and Elisa knew the clan would turn to stone while they waited, so she had been invited by Owen to stay in a nearby hotel to sleep for the day.

She held Goliath's hand while they took their positions. "Brooklyn will be fine; I know he will be when he sees you," Elisa promised softly. Goliath nodded, kissing her cheek as the sun changed them all. Elisa went to the hotel to turn in.

When it was sunset again, Brooklyn and his friends all awoke, hearing Fox speak through the mic. "We are now approaching our destination and will be making our landing." Hearing that made Brooklyn nervous, ears flat, so desperate to see his family. Kita held him with her beautiful smile as the plane began to dip down for its landing. Siveth whined, anxious to be back on solid ground again.

Kaori noticed and petted her. "It's almost over soon, buddy, almost over." Siveth licked her face, making the female laugh. Deep down, she was excited about meeting the rest of Brooklyn's clan as was Kita too.

The friends had one more snack before the runway came closer, but Brooklyn was looking forward to eating his brother's cooking once more, seeing the runway get even closer. And to his surprise, he could spy his whole clan down there!

He nudged his girlfriend. "Kita, look, I think that's them!" Kita gasped softly as she gazed out the window. She could see four males down there along with another gar dog, as well as the only female there in the group who had a hand in the tall blue one's hand. And even their human allies, Elisa, Owen, and Xanatos.

The two gargoyles held hands and their seat rests as the plane finally touched the ground. Brooklyn usually hated landings for any flying vehicle and preferred to land himself when gliding. But he was glad this was all over, and that he was finally back in the US.

Bronx woofed, jumping while the plane came in for a stop, Lex trying to gain control of him so he didn't get run over. Angela was crying while hugging her mate, for losing Brooklyn had left a big impact on her since she started seeing him as a brother even after choosing Broadway over him.

Goliath and Hudson both glanced at each other, still unable to comprehend that the young Second was really still alive and had been able to return. Soon, the plane finally stopped.

The door opened and Fox stepped out first to lead the younger gargoyles out of the plane. Brooklyn swallowed, shaking as he and Kita both left the plane first. Once safe on the ground, he could see Goliath and Hudson both looking at him with sad happiness. And his own happy tears flooded down his cheeks, running up to them.

"Goliath! Hudson!" he sobbed. Hudson laughed joyfully when opening his arms and allowing the younger male to hug him tightly. Kita smiled too, overjoyed to see this reunion. Brook hugged Hudson tightly, crying nonstop while Hudson rubbed his back soothingly. "It'll be alright, lad. You're home."

Brooklyn buried his face into the elder's shoulder. "I-I thought I'd never see you again!" He wailed, wrapping his wings too. Goliath also joined in on the hug, caressing Brooklyn's hair. "And us too, Brooklyn. It wasn't the same without you."

Broadway, Angela, and Lex all looked up at Brooklyn with a smile after he let go of the other two elder's hugs. Brooklyn wiped his nonstop flowing tears as his brothers tackled him in a hug, and Bronx licked him. This was the best moment for Brooklyn; to return home to his family after being lost for so long. Siveth had also went up to Bronx and the two gar dogs sniffed one another, woofing.

Hudson chuckled when seeing the new gar dog. "Happy for Bronx to meet a new friend," he said, petting her.

But there was a moment when Lex noticed something different about Brooklyn and yelped a little. "What is it?" Brooklyn asked the olive gargoyle.

Feeling nervous, he spoke. "Uh, your tail, what... what happened?" Brook then remembered and flushed, taking it in his hands. "Long story, but... I need it fixed." He said in a small voice. Goliath felt terrified at what had happened to his Second's tail but he nodded. "We will fix it."

Brooklyn next looked back at Kita, then the clan. The clan were confused at the appearance of another female gargoyle, and one that looked like Brooklyn too. Angela however, looked quite excited to meet another female not from her clan.

"And who is this lassie, lad?" Hudson questioned, seeing that the girl had a beak like Brooklyn's but somewhat shorter.

Brooklyn blushed. He went over to his girl. "Everyone, I want you to meet Kita," The Second introduced. "Of the Ishimura Clan. And these two here are Kaori and Siveth."

Kaori bowed her head to the other males. Lexington did too, but he couldn't help feeling drawn to the female with wings like his, his age but close to Kita's height. Kaori had more of a human face than Kita did.

Bronx went up to Siveth, woofing and smelling the other gar beast. Siveth woofed back and sniffed him too, the two taking in each other's scents. Goliath felt amazed at how his Second in Command had encouraged two different clan members to come to their own, and a surge of pride flooded inside.

Kita took Goliath's hand, flushing. "Such an honor to meet you, Goliath. Kai told me about you."

Goliath bowed his head to her. "And we welcome you to Clan Wyvern," he greeted. Kaori stepped to shake too. "We wish to stay as Manhattan ambassadors, if the clan approves of us," she stated, looking shy.

Hudson chuckled. "Of course, we would, lassies. More members are always welcome. And Angela would be happy to have more sisters in the clan."

Angela looked at the two females in interest, excited to be able to have girl talks with them. But when she eyed Lexington, she couldn't help but notice the silly grin on his face when staring at Kaori and she chuckled softly. And at how Kita and Brooklyn gazed into each other's eyes, hugging one another. She felt happy for him to have found the right female.

Elisa managed to get her introductions and hugged Brooklyn too before eventually saying they needed to go back to Eyrie Building before sunrise. "Thank you for taking us back, Fox," Brooklyn thanked her, shaking the woman's hand. "It was my pleasure, Brooklyn."

The clan along with Elisa, Fox, David, and Owen went into his helicopter for the flight back to the city. Brook hated the idea of one more vehicle flight but was more than ready to be back in his room again, praying that Yegor wouldn't learn of him returning home to New York and come to hurt him and his family.

He sat in between Hudson and Kita. Hudson rubbed his arm. "Welcome home." The elder said gently. Brooklyn nodded, feeling weary, but was safe again, and had even found love on his misadventure.

....

No flame reviews please. Nothing against the main cannon but had longed to see Lex with one of Angela's sisters on Avalon like she had mentioned before.
