(3) My Cooking Crush

Sunghoon sat in his bedroom, smiling at his phone.

Jake had used his charm to ask Heeseung what faculty his friend was a part of.

That's how Sunghoon found out that Sunoo was an Economics major.

Right now he was looking through the Faculty of Economics page on the schools website. He came across the Star Students section, and the first person he saw was Sunoo.

"Hmm. So he's cute and smart? Sign me up..."

A knock came on Sunghoon's door.

"Come in!"

The door opened to reveal his mother.

"Sunghoon, you're going to be late for school honey. Come on, I made breakfast."

"Thanks mom. I'll be down in a bit."

Mom smiled before closing the door.

Sunghoon looked back at the webpage and the photo of Sunoo.

"See you at school."

—————————————————————

Sunoo's kitchen smelled of sugar and coffee.

This morning he had decided on doing something special for Heeseung and the rest of the swim team.

Since Sunoo was a member of the Traditional Desserts Club at school, he specialized in making Korean desserts for people to try.

Today he decided on trying his hand at making Hotteok at home.

Normally he would use the club kitchen, mostly because they had a bigger flat top grill for frying the Hotteok.

Sunoo's phone rang, and he took off his partially burnt glove to answer it.

"Good morning Heeseung!", he said.

"Good morning to you too! Do you want me to force Jake to pick you up from school as well?"

"Jake? Is he bringing you to school?"

"Yeah."

"Ooooooo."

"You shut it. We're just friends."

"For now. Anyways, yeah you can come get me. I'm making a surprise gift for the swim team."

"Oh yesssss, is it food? I love food. Is it snacks?"

"You'll have to wait and see."

"Aww come onnnn."

Sunoo laughed.

"Alright then. Keep your secrets little man. I'll text you when Jake and I are almost there."

"Okay then. See you in a bit."

"See you in a bit."

Sunoo hung up.

He made a few more Hotteoks  before turning off the stove and running to get dressed.

After a fifteen minute shower for the quickness, brushing his teeth, and brushing his hair, Sunoo came out of his bathroom, sliding his pants on.

Once his clothes were on, he quickly packed up the now cooled down pancakes.

As if on cue, Heeseung texted saying he forgot to text earlier and that he and Jake were actually outside.

Sunoo rolled his eyes, grabbing his backpack and the pancakes before running out of the door.

Having arrived just a few minutes early, Heeseung and Jake now had to quickly change for practice.

"Don't forget your goggles.", Jake said.

"I never forget my goggles.", Hesseung said, holding up a pair of broken goggles.

"Oh no no no, hand me those."

"Why?"

"They're broken. I wouldn't be a good team mate if I let you swim with broken goggles."

Jake took the goggles from Heeseung, pulling his own pair out of his bag.

"Here. Take mine."

"Jake I can't take your goggles. You need them."

"Not really. My eyes can make it. Take them."

Jake planted the goggles in Hesseung's hands.

"Come out to the pool when you're ready."

Jake smiled at Heeseung before walking away.

Heeseung watched him leave, a small smile appearing on his face. He looked down at the goggles.

"I think he likes me. Yeeeeeee!"

In a different area of the school, Sunoo met up with Jay.

"Mmm they smell good.", Jay said.

"Paws off my Hotteok, Jongseong."

"Oh! I was just smelling them!"

"They're for the swim team."

"For the entire team? Or just...Park Sunghoon?"

Sunoo pouted.

"Everyone."

"Sure, sure. I'm guessing you're saving it for the swim meet this afternoon?"

"Yep. Are you going?"

"Of course! I have to support Heeseung. He's one of my best friends."

"Who are the other best friends?"

"Just you..."

The pair laughed.

"Come on, let's head to class before we get marked absent again."

"Before YOU get marked absent again. Mr. Sorry I Was Late, They Ran Out Of Cheese At The Cafeteria."

"People call me that?"

"Sometimes I wonder about your mental state."

—————————————————————

The afternoon had rolled around and it was nearly 3pm.

At 3pm would be the swim competition between members of the team.

Now, Sunoo and Jay were arriving at the campus pool area. People were filling the stands, ready to watch their team compete against one another.

"Do you see Heeseung?", Sunoo asked.

"I see a lot of half naked dudes.", Jay said, staring at the swim team members.

He had his eyes on one person specifically.

"Who you looking at?", Sunoo asked.

"My cutie patootie. Right there talking to Jake."

Sunoo looked to where Jay was watching.

A small boy, still bigger than Sunoo, stood talking to Jake with sparkling eyes and a beautiful smile that seemed to bring extra light to the room.

"So when are you going to confess?", Sunoo asked.

"Never. I don't want to get my heart broken."

"Coward."

"Says the man who definitely has a crush on Park Sunghoon but can't even look at him for more than ten seconds."

"Don't you judge me-"

Pretty soon, the match was ready to start.

The swim members lined up in a long row. Ten people in total.

When the whistle blew, they all went off into the water.

Sunoo and Jay cheered for Heeseung, watching him swim with his highest might.

They went to one end of the pool and began the lap back.

The audience cheered and cheered until finally...

"Oh my gosh! He won! Park Sunghoon won!", a girl yelled.

The stands erupted with cheer as Sunghoon was the first to climb out of the pool, followed by Jake.

Jay and Sunoo cheered for them as well.

Heeseung was fourth, which wasn't bad at all for his skill.

The match was short purely because the boys moved very fast in the water. Sunoo admired them because while he loves to swim, he could never do it professionally.

After the match was over and the stands began to clear, Jay and Sunoo went down to congratulate the boys.

"You guys did it! Great job!", he said as he ran up to them.

The team thanked him.

Sunghoon, Jake, Heeseung, and Jay's cutie patootie walked over.

"Hi Sunoo. Did you watch the match?", Sunghoon asked.

"Yeah. Been here the entire time. Congratulations, Sunghoon."

The taller boy happily smiled.

"Uh I...I made snacks."

Sunoo held out the box of Hotteok to the team.

"Oooo! Hotteok! Sunoo feed me, my hands are wet.", Heeseung said.

Sunoo opened the box.

He used the little fork he put in the box to take off a piece and feed it to Heeseung.

"Mmmm, delicious. I could eat all of those myself."

The boys laughed at Heeseung.

"Can you feed me too?", Jake asked.

"Sure!"

Sunoo happily fed Jake a piece.

"Oh my...that's so good! You made these?"

"Yep."

Jake and Heeseung made a mental note to ask Sunoo to make them more desserts later.

Jake leaned over to Sunghoon, putting his arm around him.

"This guy wants some too. Can you feed him?"

Sunghoon looked at Jake, who smirked in return.

Sunoo hesitated before taking another piece on the fork.

Jay and his cutie patootie braced themselves for a shipping moment.

Sunoo walked up to Sunghoon, holding out the fork to him.

After a few seconds, Sunghoon walked closer, gently grabbing Sunoo's hand and lifting the fork up to his mouth, biting off the piece of Hotteok.

The other boys silently cheered.

Sunoo blushed.

"Here. Take them and share with your team."

Sunoo handed the box to Sunghoon.

"I have to go now."

Sunoo started to walk away.

"Sunoo, wait!"

The boy stopped and turned around.

"Yes?"

Sunghoon hesitated.

"Can I...have your phone number?"

Sunoo was internally screaming, but played it off on the surface.

"Yeah, you can."

He took out his phone, pulling up his own number and showing it to Sunghoon, who put it in his phone.

"Thanks.", Sunghoon said.

"You're welcome..."

The shy boy walked away, with Jay following him.

As they exited the area, Sunoo's phone rang.

He picked it up.

"Hello?"

"Just making sure you didn't give me a fake number."

"Of course not."

"Hmm. Well I'll be texting you tonight, so be ready."

"Huh?"

"Bye Sunoo!"

Sunghoon hung up.

Sunoo turned to Jay.

"What?", Jay asked.

"He's calling me tonight..."

Sunoo put his hands on Jay's shoulders.

"Jay, I think it's time."

"For what?"

"We need to talk to...him."

"Him?"

"The relationship expert!"

"Ohhh...him. So wait, you admit you like Sunghoon?"

"Shut up."

Sunoo walked off.

Jay laughed.

"Looks like I'm playing matchmaker this year."
