Chapter 2
Unknown POV
I paced the lengths of the corridors deep in thought, scowling at anyone who happened to crossed my path. My eldest sister stood and observed me. "Pacing the room isn't going to help you achieve anything except for wearing a hole in the carpet and you know how much mother loves this carpet."
"Alexandra do shut up, this is already tedious enough without your incessant nagging."
"Look, did not come here so I could nag you or you could snap at me, I came here so I could hear what you have and help you out."
I looked at her and sighed. I now felt guilty for snapping at her like that. This wasn't her fault and I shouldn't have taken it out on her.
"My apologies Alexandra, I shouldn't have snapped at you like that."
"Hmph! Also. I've told you before, stop calling me Alexandra. Everyone calls me Alex." The small smile that tugged the corner of her lips told me that I was forgiven.
"So, what have you come up with?" she asked. I lowered my head in shame.
"I shadowed her whilst she was hunting and now know where she lives but, she seemed extremely disturbed in the forest. It is likely that she sensed my presence. Apart from that I have nothing."
"So, you haven't come up with any ideas on how to bring her here at all."
"No." I confirmed but hastily added, "But she isn't as ignorant to magic as we once thought. She wouldn't have bees able to sense me without some knowledge of magic."
" Unless it was just natural talent. Do not think into that too much. Golden Queen above, you really are useless." She sighed in frustration.
"Here's what you are going to do. You are going to go and meet her in person. If possible befriend her and convince her to return with you, otherwise you somehow get her evicted from her village. If all of these plans fail, just kidnap her. She's been living with the humans for so long, I doubt she knows any magic."
"My apologies, but I wish to refrain from any of those methods."
She scowled over at me and growled.
"Why not. What could possibly be preventing you from doing this. You have the brains, the power, and for whatever reasons, you are found charming so why can't you."
"It is not my way." She looked at me in shock. She was turning purple with rage. I could tell she wanted to slap me, but I refused to yield on this.
"What."
"It is not my way. I refuse to deceive a girl and make her follow me to Hudoliaeth or get her evicted or kidnap her. That's a waste of my skills and quite dishonourable. I am actually offended that you suggested that."
"Oh, how naïve you are my dear brother. Do you think anyone has time to worry about your honour or way? We need her as soon as possible. We haven't got much more time to waste. So, unless you can come up with any better ideas in the next five seconds, you are going to go back to your room, get ready and leave as planned. Golden Queen help you if you come back without her. We cannot afford any failure. Am I understood?"
"Yes ma'am." I stood at attention and saluted. Jokes aside, I knew she had a point but I hated the idea of mingling in a town full of humans.
"Alexandra, I have just one question, why was I the one burdened with this task. Everyone knows how much I despise humans. I do not understand why I was chosen. There are other Fae who could take my place."
"Thecouncil decided on you. If you hate the idea of being around humans, do yourjob quickly. And I will not tell you again. Call me Alex." With that, she left.

Sorry that this chapter is so short. More of a teaser than an actual chapter. I promise that the next chapter will be longer.
