Chapter Ten

"Hey!" Hoseok exclaimed when he spotted them. "You're finally here!"

"Yeah, we finished up with dinner and headed right over," Namjoon said.

"How was dinner?" Jungkook asked. And to Yoongi's great relief, there was no tone of slyness or suggestiveness in his voice.

"It was great!" Namjoon said happily. "We had a really nice time. Good to see you again, Jungkook, by the way. And you, too, Jimin. It's been awhile!"

"It has!" Jimin agreed. "But I'm glad we're all reuniting now!"

"So, you guys have met Hobi, then?" Namjoon asked.

"Yeah, Tae introduced us," Jungkook answered. "He seems like a pretty nice guy!"

"Why thank you, sir!" Hoseok said with a slight bow. Everyone chuckled.

"Namjoon," Yoongi said, turning to him. "What would you like to drink?"

"No," Namjoon said. "I'll order it."

"No," Yoongi argued. "You bought dinner. At least let me buy the drinks."

They stared at each other until Namjoon finally sighed. "Okay. But just one."

"Yeah, sure," Yoongi said, fully intending on buying more than one if Namjoon wanted more.

"Yoongi..."

Yoongi sighed. "God, you're stubborn."

Namjoon grinned.

'Oh, c'mon!'

"Fine," Yoongi conceded, not being able to deny the dimples. "But let me know if you want more."

"Yeah, I'll be sure to do that," Namjoon said sarcastically with a wink.

Yoongi's cheeks immediately went aflame when Namjoon winked. "So, uh, w-what would you like?"

"Just a beer is fine."

"Don't you dare get the cheapest thing on the menu," Yoongi mimicked. Namjoon laughed heartily.

"Fine, I'll have whatever you're having."

"Whiskey?"

"Sounds great!"

Yoongi headed to the bar and ordered. By the time he brought the drinks back to the table, everyone was laughing and having a great time.

After a few more drinks, Yoongi had joined them in their raucous laughter. They were all having such a great time, that their drinking got away from them, and many of them found themselves to be drunk. This included Yoongi. Namjoon, however, had been nursing his drinks, as he'd driven.

"Yoon, you're getting in a little deep," Namjoon said after awhile.

"I dunno what you're talking about," Yoongi slurred.

Namjoon chuckled. "Maybe slow down a bit?"

Yoongi waved away Namjoon's suggestion. "'M fine."

"Yeah," Jimin drunkenly agreed. "He can hold his liquor well!"

"Most of the time," Taehyung muttered. He knew his friend was drinking excessively due to nerves, being around Namjoon. He'd never suggest that to Yoongi, though, knowing he'd immediately deny it.

"Jimin, you should probably heed Namjoon's advice, too," Jungkook said. "You – "

"Shhh," Jimin answered, putting a finger on Jungkook's lips. Jungkook rolled his eyes.

"Okay, everyone, maybe we should call it a night," Namjoon said.

"Boo!" Hoseok suddenly piped up. "You're no fun!"

Namjoon looked at his friend, who was quite obviously drunk as well, and sighed. He turned to Jungkook and Taehyung.

"I guess we each have someone to babysit."

"Lucky us," Jungkook mumbled.

Yoongi, Jimin and Hoseok all giggled amongst each other.

"Did you drive here?" Namjoon asked Taehyung, who shook his head.

"I don't have a car," he admitted. "I take the bus."

Namjoon nodded. "Yeah, Yoongi said he does, too." He sighed. "I drove him here, but I'm not sure I can take him home. Not since I need to deal with Hobi."

"That's okay," Taehyung said. "I'll get him home. He'll be fine with me."

"You sure?" Namjoon asked, feeling a bit apprehensive.

"We've maneuvered the bus system when both of us were drunk before. He'll definitely be fine with a sober escort."

"Okay," Namjoon reluctantly agreed. "And what about you, Jungkook? You okay to get Jimin home?"

"Yeah, we live together," Jungkook said. "And I drove."

Namjoon nodded, satisfied that everyone had a plan.

"'M not ready to leave yet!" Yoongi interrupted.

"Me either!" Jimin and Hoseok agreed in sync.

The three sober men all rolled their eyes. "Fine," Namjoon conceded. "Just a few more," he told Hoseok.

Taehyung sighed. "Okay," he agreed. "But we all leave at the same time, yeah? That way we can all keep an eye on each other and stick together until we part ways."

The three drunk men cheered. Yoongi quickly turned to head to the bar. "Hey, Joonie, you want anything else?"

Everyone froze. Yoongi didn't seem to notice the looks of surprise on everyone's - especially Namjoon's - face.

"U-Uh, sure," Namjoon said, not really even realizing he was agreeing.

Yoongi grinned. "Coming right up!"

He then turned and walked away, leaving everyone almost gaping in his wake.

"Did he just – "

"Yeah."

Jimin and Jungkook looked at each other as Taehyung and Hoseok did the same. Everyone's lips twisted into smirks. Namjoon watched them. "What?" he asked.

"Nothing, Joonie," Hoseok said with a smile. "Nothing at all."

Namjoon's cheeks turned pink. "Uh, okay," he said, not really knowing if he should argue or not. He was still somewhat stunned by Yoongi's sudden nickname for him. He found, however, that he didn't mind it. In fact, he realized he kind of liked it.

"Sooo..." Jimin said, leaning forward toward Namjoon. "I heard you call him Yoon earlier. Does this mean you both have special nicknames for each other now?"

"Uh, I-I guess it does," Namjoon agreed.

Jimin smirked. "Awesome."

Namjoon blushed again. "Uh, so...does anyone else need another drink?" he asked, trying to change the subject.

"Me!" Jimin and Hoseok said, speaking in sync again. Jungkook and Namjoon dropped their heads.

"Shouldn't have asked," Namjoon said with a roll of his eyes.

Taehyung laughed. "Eh, let 'em have their fun. We'll be leaving soon anyway."

Namjoon nodded. "Yeah, I guess you're right."

Suddenly, Yoongi reappeared, holding two glasses. He passed one to Namjoon. "Here ya go!"

"Thanks," Namjoon muttered, feeling his cheeks start to burn again. Yoongi grinned at him, and Namjoon's cheeks only reddened further.

Jungkook watched the two curiously. He smiled as he realized that it was finally Namjoon who seemed embarrassed. He suddenly was grateful Yoongi had gotten tipsy. It provided him some confidence. Yoongi was no longer shy or awkward. And it seemed to be taking an interesting toll on Namjoon.

"Hey!" Jimin suddenly exclaimed. "Let's dance!"

Hoseok gasped. "Yeah!"

"You guys," Jungkook said. "This isn't a club."

"There's music, though!" Jimin said excitedly.

"But no one else is dancing."

"We'll start a trend!" Hoseok exclaimed. "C'mon, Jimin, let's do it!"

The two then turned and ran to an open area in the middle of the room. Jungkook and Namjoon both pinched the bridges of their noses as their friends started dancing.

Yoongi watched them, giggling. "Do you wanna dance, too, Yoongs?" Taehyung asked.

Yoongi suddenly became shy. "Uh, no. I'm not really a dancer."

"Well, I know that. But maybe with the two of them – "

"No, thank you," Yoongi said quietly.

"Okay," Taehyung sighed, just wanting his friend to continue having a good time. But then as he watched him, he realized that Yoongi was just by watching the other two dance. He decided not to push him any further.

Namjoon and Jungkook joined Taehyung and Yoongi in watching Jimin and Hoseok. The two seemed to be having the time of their lives. Everyone else in the room was watching them incredulously, but the two didn't notice. They were lost in their own world.

"Hey!" Yoongi suddenly yelled, startling Namjoon, Taehyung and Jungkook. He was looking around at the other patrons in the bar. "Stop looking at them like they're crazy. They're just having a good time!"

A few of the patrons scoffed, but some of them looked around at each other before looking at Jimin and Hoseok again.

Suddenly, to Namjoon's, Jungkook's and Taehyung's surprise, some of the other patrons began to join them. Yoongi bounced in his seat, clapping like a child and giggling.

"That's right!" he shouted. "Those are my friends!"

Soon, it was a veritable dance party in the bar. Jimin and Hoseok cheered as Yoongi beamed, watching them. Namjoon watched Yoongi, smiling slightly at how happy he was.

"Hey, Yoon," he said. "You sure you don't want to dance?"

Yoongi turned to him, his smile beginning to fade. "Yeah, I'm sure."

"Well, I was thinking about dancing." Yoongi quirked an eyebrow. "Will you join me?"

Taehyung and Jungkook watched the two as Yoongi seemed to have an inner battle. On one hand, he didn't think he was a good dancer. On the other, he really wanted to make Namjoon happy. "Um..." Taehyung and Jungkook grinned at each other, happy that Yoongi was considering it.

"I-I guess I could – "

"Awesome!" Namjoon said, grabbing his hand and heading out to the others dancing. Yoongi blinked, surprised at how quickly Namjoon had pulled him out.

"I'm not very good – "

"Me neither," Namjoon interrupted. "You can't be as bad as me, though!"

"Wanna bet?" Yoongi mumbled.

"C'mon, Yoon, loosen up!"

It took a few moments, but eventually Yoongi let the music began to move him. He began to dance very well, and he never noticed the surprised look on Namjoon's face. He was too into the music. Namjoon simply stared at him, suddenly not seeing anything else around them.

"Yoongs!" Jimin and Hoseok shouted, abruptly knocking Namjoon out of his trance. He turned to see them both heading toward him and Yoongi.

"You're dancing!" Jimin exclaimed. "I can't believe it!"

"And Joon?" Hoseok asked. "You, too?"

Namjoon shrugged. "Sure, why not?"

Jimin and Hoseok cheered. They grabbed Yoongi's and Namjoon's hands and pulled them toward the center of what was now a dance floor.

"N-No," Namjoon resisted, not wanting to be the center of attention in any way, shape or form.

But Hoseok continue to pull on his hand. "Show Yoongi your moves!"

Yoongi turned around and Namjoon's cheeks burned. "You have moves?" Yoongi asked. "Yeah, show me!"

Namjoon suddenly regretted having suggested the dancing. His goal was to get Yoongi to have some fun. He never expected to become the one everyone was looking to.

"You know what?" he said, hoping Yoongi wouldn't follow suit. "I think I'm gonna go back over there."

Yoongi gasped as he began walking away. "No!" he said, grabbing Namjoon's hand and tugging him back toward the group. "Stay!"

Namjoon sighed. "I really don't – "

"I'll show you mine if you show me yours!" Yoongi suddenly exclaimed.

Namjoon, Jimin and Hoseok all stopped and stared at him. Across the room, Jungkook and Taehyung both gasped. Yoongi had shouted loud enough for them to hear him as well.

"W-What?"

"Dance moves!" Yoongi said, not even noticing that his remark had been misconstrued as suggestive. "I'll show you mine if you show me yours!"

Everyone took a collective breath. "Yoongs," Jimin giggled. "You gotta watch what you say!"

"Why?" Yoongi asked, genuinely confused.

"Nevermind," Jimin said with another giggle.

Taehyung was just about to get up and pull Yoongi out of the dancing when Jungkook put a hand on his arm. "No," he said. "Let's see where this goes."

Taehyung sighed. "I don't want him to become a laughing stock. He'll be so embarrassed enough when he hears about this tomorrow. He'll kill me if he finds out I let him make a fool out of himself."

"So, maybe he doesn't find out," Jungkook said.

"What do you mean?"

"What he doesn't know won't hurt him. Just don't tell him about any of this."

Taehyung shook his head. "He'll ask, and I can't lie to my best friend."

Jungkook sighed. "You're too honorable," he said with a hint of annoyance in his tone. "I'm totally gonna lie to Jimin about how he acted."

"But why?" Taehyung asked. "Jimin won't care."

"Oh yeah," Jungkook answered. "Well, that's no fun, then."

Taehyung chuckled. "You're terrible."

"Yoon, I don't really want – "

"C'mon, Joonie, you loosen up!"

Jimin and Hoseok shared another sly look as Yoongi called Namjoon Joonie again.

"I think I need another whiskey for this," Namjoon muttered. He hadn't intended for him to, but Yoongi heard him. He gasped.

"I'll go get you one!"

"No, Yoon, I – "

But Yoongi had already taken off toward the bar, leaving Namjoon with his drunk best friend, who knew he could easily sway him.

"Don't," Namjoon warned as Hoseok grinned.

"What do you mean?" Hoseok replied innocently.

"I don't want to be the center of attention."

"You never want to be," Hoseok said. "But we need to break you of that."

"No," Namjoon said firmly.

"Once we do, you can finally sign on as an artist."

A gasp was heard from behind them. Namjoon turned to see Yoongi standing there, holding two glasses of whiskey.

"They want you to be an artist, too?"

Namjoon turned and narrowed his eyes at Hoseok.

"Joonie, are you going to be a performer?"

Namjoon turned back to Yoongi. "No," he said. "They've asked me to be but I've said no."

"But why?!" Yoongi asked, genuinely confused. "I've heard your stuff! You're – "

"I'm not going to sign on as an artist," Namjoon interrupted. "I prefer to be behind the scenes."

Yoongi shook his head. "That doesn't make any sense..."

"Well, it's the way it is," Namjoon said, feeling his entire mood begin to sour. Yoongi didn't seem to notice.

"I don't understand, but I guess you should do you," he said. Namjoon nodded as he silently thanked him for dropping it.

"Well, here!" Yoongi said, suddenly remembering the drinks in his hands. "One whiskey to keep you dancing, as ordered!"

"I didn't really – "

"Take it!" Yoongi said forcefully.

"O-Okay," Namjoon agreed, surprised at Yoongi's little outburst. He then took the drink from Yoongi and took a sip.

Yoongi grinned as he sipped his own drink. "Yay! Let's dance!"

And so they did. Jimin and Hoseok were ecstatic they'd gotten their friends to join them, and as long as they stayed out of the center, Namjoon allowed himself to have fun despite not actually being much of a dancer. Yoongi was in a world of his own, having the time of his life with the other three. He continued to egg Namjoon on, making him dance with him. And Jimin and Hoseok continued to share surreptitious knowing looks.

"So," Jungkook said. "Yoongs likes him, right?"

"Oh, definitely," Taehyung replied. "He won't admit it, though."

"Why do you think that is?"

"Honestly," Taehyung continued. "I think he hasn't even admitted it to himself yet."

"Well, it's become pretty obvious tonight," Jungkook said with a chuckle.

"To everyone except himself," Taehyung sighed. "But the alcohol has a lot to do with that, I think."

"Do you think Namjoon realizes it?"

"I dunno," Taehyung admitted. "I'd love to hear Hobi's opinion on it, but I don't think he'll remember much more than Jimin or Yoongs will tomorrow."

Jungkook sighed. "So, how do we move this along, then? I mean, they totally deserve each other."

"You're not wrong," Taehyung said. "And I'd love this for Yoongs. But I don't know how to get him to admit his feelings. He always brushes me off when I confront him about it."

"Well, let's try to get Hobi's number tonight before we all leave. Then we can talk to him about it when he's sober. Maybe he's dealing with the same thing we are, but with Namjoon."

"You think Namjoon likes Yoongs?" Taehyung asked.

"Oh, for sure. From the night they met."

Taehyung looked over at them again and sighed. "It would seem he hasn't admitted it to himself either."

"Well, between the four of us, hopefully we can swing some sort of matchmaking," Jungkook said.

"Hopefully," agreed Taehyung.

Eventually last call was announced and the friends all reconvened. Jimin, Hoseok and Yoongi were raucously laughing together while Taehyung, Jungkook and Namjoon were trying to get tabs sorted. Once everything was figured out and paid, they all headed out of the bar.

"You sure you guys are good to get them home?" Namjoon asked Jungkook and Taehyung.

"Yeah," Jungkook said. "I'm actually going to take Yoongs and Tae home. I don't want them riding the bus this late."

"We'll be fine," Taehyung assured him, but Jungkook shook his head.

"I insist."

"Well, thank you," Taehyung conceded. "I'll get you back sometime."

Jungkook waved him off. Namjoon suddenly looked over at Yoongi, who was still chattering excitedly with Jimin and Hoseok, blissfully unaware of the conversation the other three were having.

"Take care of him," he told Jungkook and Taehyung, who looked at each other slyly.

"We will," Taehyung assured him.

"Oh, hey!" Jungkook suddenly remembered. "Can we get Hobi's number? We wanna stay in touch with both of you. And Yoongs already has your number, but nobody has Hobi's."

"Sure," Namjoon agreed, then he rattled off Hoseok's phone number to the two of them. Taehyung added it into his phone.

"Thanks, Namjoon," he said.

"Thank you guys for the fun night," Namjoon said earnestly. "I had a really great time."

"So did we," Jungkook agreed. Taehyung nodded.

"Okay, well, we'd better get going," Namjoon said. "See you guys around."

"Bye," Jungkook and Taehyung both said as they headed over to fetch Yoongi and Jimin.

"C'mon, guys," Jungkook said. "I'm taking you guys home."

"And I'm taking you, Hobi," said Namjoon.

"Bye, Hobi!" Yoongi and Jimin exclaimed.

"Bye, Joonie," Yoongi continued, and Namjoon couldn't help it; he blushed yet again.

"Bye, Yoon."
