Chapter Fifteen

"What happened last night?" Jimin asked Yoongi the next evening at the restaurant. "I can't believe I got so drunk that I can't remember again."

"You were an idiot," Yoongi said honestly. Jimin's mouth fell open. "But it's a good thing you're kinda endearing, too."

"Gee, thanks."

Yoongi chuckled. "I'd be mad at you, but I had such a good time, I can't even hold it against you."

"So, I contributed to your good time?"

Yoongi shook his head. "Not entirely," he said. "I had a good time with Namjoon, I mean."

"Did you guys kiss?!"

"What?!" Yoongi asked incredulously. "No!"

"Did I suggest you should?"

Yoongi thought back to the night before. "Actually, you did. So, actually maybe I am kinda mad at you."

"Nooo!" Jimin exclaimed.

Yoongi couldn't help but laugh. "I'll let it slide this time. But pull that shit again, and we're no longer friends, got it?"

"Sir, yes, sir."

Yoongi rolled his eyes. "Well, let's get this shift over with," he said. "My last hurrah."

Jimin pouted. "I'm going to miss you. It won't be the same without you here."

Yoongi smiled. "You know, I honestly think I'll miss working with you, too."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah, we've always had a lot of fun together. You, me and Jungkook."

Jimin suddenly looked like he was about to cry. "The three musketeers," he said quietly.

"Jimin, are you okay?"

"Yeah. I just...I'll miss you."

Yoongi smiled. "We'll still see each other. I mean, we're friends outside of work now."

"Yeah, but it won't be as often."

Yoongi shrugged. "You know you can call or text me anytime."

Jimin nodded. "I still feel sad."

"Well, keep your mind off of it by taking care of Junho. I really do want you guys to be nice to him and help him out. He's a sweet kid."

"I promise we'll keep an eye on him," Jimin said. "He'll be our protege."

"Um, excuse me, he's my protege. That's why he's taking my place."

Jimin laughed. "Fine, fine. But we'll continue his education."

Yoongi rolled his eyes. "Just be nice."

"I'm never anything but!" Jimin said indignantly.

"Yoongi!"

Yoongi turned around at his name being called. Jungkook was walking through the backdoor.

"Jungkook? I thought you weren't working tonight."

"I switched shifts so I could be here for your last one!"

"Jungkook," Yoongi said, honestly a bit touched. "You didn't have to do that."

Jungkook shrugged. "I wanted to. One last shift for the three musketeers."

"That's what I called us!" Jimin exclaimed. Yoongi chuckled.

"We'll, let's get to it. Anyone seen Junho?"

"I think he's due to be here at seven," Jimin said.

"Ah, okay," Yoongi replied. "Well, you two have me to yourselves for an hour before I gotta pay all my attention to him."

"You wanna make a bet on something?" Jungkook asked, pulling a small notebook out of his pocket.

"Seriously?!" Yoongi said.

"What? Last time we did, it turned out really well for you!"

"I didn't bet that time," Yoongi said.

"So, Jimin," Jungkook said, turning to their friend. "You wanna make a bet?"

"I won last time."

"So?"

"So, basically last time you made a bet, it turned out well for everyone but you," Yoongi said.

"Oh," Jungkook said. "Right." He put his notebook away with a pout. Yoongi chuckled and patted his friend on the back.

"You'll get right back into the swing of things with your stupid bets soon," he assured Jungkook. "Just don't rope Junho into them, okay? He doesn't need all that nonsense distracting him."

Jungkook and Jimin glanced at each other slyly. "Sure," Jungkook said. "We'll be sure to leave him out of it."

The night wore on uneventfully until around nine o'clock, when their manager came scurrying into the kitchen, looking frazzled.

"We have a celebrity coming!" he announced. "Yoongi, I want you to take his table. Junho, you stick with Jungkook while Yoongi's with him."

"Who is it?" Jungkook asked excitedly.

"Not sure yet," their boss said. "I've just been told by the owner that he's an idol."

"Where is he going to be seated?" Yoongi asked.

"He'll be in the back, away from the crowd. Here, I'll show you." Yoongi dutifully followed the manager.

"Does this happen often?" Junho asked Jungkook.

"No," Jungkook told him. "We're a nice restaurant, but not really that nice, you know? I mean, the most expensive dish we have is only 43,000 won."

Junho nodded in understanding. "This is exciting, then."

"Really exciting for Yoongi!" Jimin said. "Ugh, I bet he'll get a huge tip. Jealous."

"This really is turning out to be his last big hurrah," Jungkook said with a chuckle.

Yoongi and the manager soon returned, and the manager called all the servers over. "We're all going to operate as normal," he said. "Act like nothing is different, alright? We don't want to draw any attention to the idol. Absolutely no asking for autographs," he said sternly. "Yoongi is the only employee who needs to be anywhere near the guy. Everybody understand?"

Noises of agreement passed through the group, with a few of the servers looking disappointed that they wouldn't get to see the idol. Yoongi turned to the manager. "Why do you want me to be his server?" he asked. "I want to finish Junho's training."

"Are you kidding?" the manager said. "You're the best server I've got. God, I'm really gonna miss you, kid."

Yoongi's cheeks tinged pink. "Well, thank you, sir. That's really nice of you to say."

"Let's get ready then, shall we?"

Yoongi tried not to psych himself out before he headed out to the idol's table. He'd been a server so long, he knew exactly how to do a good job. But that didn't stop him from being nervous.

"Find us as soon as you get back here, and tell us who he is!" Jungkook said excitedly as Yoongi was about to head out to the dining room. Yoongi rolled his eyes, but nodded with a smile.

He took a deep breath before exiting the kitchen, then headed to the far corner of the back of the dining room.

"Hello," he greeted as he walked up to the entourage. "My name is Yoongi, and I'll be your server this evening. Can I get you all started with some beverages?"

"Yoongi," a cool voice repeated. "Nice to meet you. We'll have three bottles of your best red wine."

Yoongi looked up and his breath caught in his throat. He couldn't believe who he was seeing, who had just said his name, who was finding out that he existed. Yoongi kept his cool as best he could, however.

"Of course," he replied with a smile. "I'll get that right out for you. Is there anything else I can get you for now?"

"I think that will be it for now."

Yoongi nodded, then turned and headed to the bar. He put the drink order in, then took refuge in the kitchen as he waited for it. He took deep breaths trying to calm his thudding heart and cool down his burning cheeks.

"Yoongi!" Jungkook called out as he and Jimin entered the kitchen, Junho following closely behind them. "Who is it?!"

Yoongi took another deep breath to steady himself before he answered.

"It's Kim Seokjin."
