❧On The Couch with @ginawriter
She has a recently published book and, in my opinion, takes romance to a new level in her book "Lifeguard"
Today I'm joined by the wonderful Gina ginawriter who was generous enough to join me "on the couch"
Also!! Words in [this format] is "said" by me during the interview.
Let's get to this...

◆ What was Wattpad like when you first started posting stories?
Wattpad was entirely different when I first started posting stories here. For one, it was quite ancient-looking in the sense that the app had none of the aesthetically-pleasing features. I liked the website then though, as there was the status bar and the colour of your reads and votes changed as they grew bigger.
But I think the main difference was the fact that there were less competition. Now you see people trying to have the best-looking covers, editing their work to the point of professionalism and trying to network a lot because it takes more to become successful now.
Though, I can argue that as long as the book has "Bad Boy" in the title, the books reads shoot up like crazy, but still people prefer better quality now over fan fics and teen fics, I read and saw back in 2012.
◆ Where do you get you inspiration from to write your stories? Such as Lifeguard and Boot Camp?
I get inspiration to write mainly from the fact that I start a story. Almost all of the time keyword, almost [laughs] I like to finish what I start writing. Especially when I love the characters and story, like in Lifeguard I just keep writing.
It also helps that I feel a lot of passion when I write. I like to put myself in the situations and sometimes read the scenes out loud to get the real effect and I love that.
◆ How has writing affected your life now that you have a published book and all?
I think it's affected my life in a sense that it's made me feel a little more accomplished. Like, I have something big I can say I did only in highschool and that all the work I put into writing paid off.
But more than that I think the publishing experience made me more knowledgeable about the industry and gave me some "professional" experience.
Of course, no one is going to treat you differently for being published and I don't use it as a bragging right, but the experience itself is a little life changing.
◆ What would you say, helps you most with writer's block?
I honestly haven't experience writer's block in ages because I don't write books anymore that I know I can't or won't finish. If I experience a writing slump, like not wanting to write for a week, I just don't.
Forcing yourself to write will usually make your work feel less genuine. Though sometimes, your best ideas come when you sit in front of your computer and write whatever crap comes into your mind.
◆ Besides reading, what else do you do in your spare time?
Outside of writing and reading, I study, play piano and binge-watch very random YouTube videos.

◇ Who is your woman/man/celebrity crush at the moment?
Gigi Hadid will probably always be my woman crush.
[She is really pretty, I can see why]
◇ Who would you say, inspires you to write?
I can't think of anyone in specific but usually I go to Barnes and Noble and see the books that have made it there, I feel inspired.
◇ What's the worst, yet funniest pick up line, you've heard or have been told?
I don't know where I heard this, but it was this guy walking around on a regular college campus and he passes by a girl wearing a Harvard sweatshirt, even though the college they're attending isn't Harvard. So he comes up to her and he is like, "Did it hurt?" And she is about to roll her eyes and expect the typical rest of that pick up line, when he points to her shirt and adds, "When you got rejected by Harvard?"
[I feel like that guy was being really offensive]
◇ Marvel or DC
Marvel.
◇ Do you have a show/series that you recently started watching and have become obsessed with?
Yes! How to Get Away with Murder is my all time favourite TV show, I've been watching since the first episode came out and highly recommend the show.
