Evelyn

After the spa, Lexi and I got home. I finished taking a shower and doing my makeup.

I am in my room, going to my closet.
I look at what I'm going to wear.

I have a lot of black outfits that I already wore. I saw a dress with tulle from FashionNova.

I grabbed the leather jacket that goes with it. "I haven't worn this yet," I said, hanging the hanger on the door knob.

I checked my flat iron. I touched it a little to see if it's hot enough.

I put my hair half way up in a bun. I grabbed each strand, straightening it out.

I continued it on repeat. I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in," I said, sitting my flat iron down. Lexi opens the door.

"Hey, you need help with your hair?" she asked. "Sure. I think I've been missing some spots," I said.

Lexi nodded, grabbing my flat iron. She starts straightening my hair.

"So are you going for straight hair or styling it up?" she asked. "Gonna straighten it and get some waves as well," I said.

"Okay," she said. "Also move it to the side," I said.

"Sounds good," she said, finishing another strand. "Are you excited about your birthday dinner?" I asked.

"Yes, Colby has a surprise for me. I got something to tell Colby and I don't know how he's gonna take it," she said.

"Oh, what is it?" I asked. Lexi sat down on my flat iron.

I turned it off so it doesn't burn my vanity that was hanging down to my bestemor(grandma in Norwegian).

She sat a box down, opening it. I see five pregnancy tests. I looked at them, gasping.

"You're pregnant?" I asked. Lexi nodded, tearing up.

"Yes, I'm gonna be a mommy," she said. "Oh my god. Congratulations," I said, hugging her.

"Thank you. I don't know how I am gonna tell Colby that I'm pregnant," she said. "Well, tell him tonight but just between you two," I said.

Lexi nodded, closing her box. "I can't wait to tell him that he's gonna be a daddy," she said.

"I'll be staying overnight with Jensen later," I said. "Sweet. Let's finish your hair," she said.

I nodded, grabbing my straightener. She turns it back on as she continues to do my hair.

Lexi finished doing my hair. I helped her with her hair as well. Lexi got her dress on, I adjusted the straps.

"Is everything secure and not falling out?" I asked. "Everything's all kept in there," she said, sitting down.

She got her heels on. I made sure my boobs are in place.

I grabbed my choker, putting it around my neck. I grabbed the leather jacket that goes with it, putting it over my shoulders.

"You look beautiful, Evie," Lexi said. "Thank you, Lexi. You look gorgeous," I said.

"Thank you, Evie," she said. We hugged each other. "Should we take a mirror selfie together?" I asked.

"Sure," she said. Lexi and I stood in my full length mirror, taking selfies on our phones.

I turned my phone to the screen. I see me and Lexi with filters, we made kissy faces.

I took a picture of us. "We look great," she said.

We heard a knock on the door. "I'll go see who it is," Evie said. Lexi nodded.

"If it's Colby, I'll tell him you're almost ready," I said. Lexi nodded as I headed to the front door, looking through the peephole.

I see Colby, waiting for me to open the door. I opened the door. Colby's wearing his navy suit.

"Hey, Colby. You cleaned up well," I said, hugging him. "Thank you. Is Lexi ready?" he asked.

"She's almost ready," I said. Colby nodded as he got nervous. "Are you nervous?" I whispered.

"A little...," Colby whispers in my ear his plan for the proposal to Lexi.

"Sounds good. She's gonna be surprised," I whispered. Colby smiled.

"So who did you finally choose? Jensen or Jack?" he asked. "You'll find out at Kegs," I said.

Colby nodded, sighing softly as he's nervous. I hear the door opening. "Oh here she comes," I said.

Lexi walks in the living room, looking at Colby. Colby looks at Lexi, smiling.

"Hey birthday girl, you look beautiful," he said. "Thank you. You look handsome," Lexi said, smiling.

"I got your something," Colby said, giving Lexi roses. "Aww, these are beautiful, babe. You are the best," Lexi said, smiling.

"It would be a birthday date without roses," he said, smiling. She and Colby kissed each other deeply.

I took a picture of them kissing on my phone. "Aww. So cute," I said.

"You better take one of us with my phone," Lexi said, handing me her phone. "Okay, stand together," I said.

Lexi and Colby stood next to each other. "I'm gonna take multiples," I said, taking a few pictures as they smiled.

"Okay, here you guys go," I said. "Thank you. See you and your date soon," Lexi said.

I gave Lexi back her phone. "See you guys in a bit," I said.

Colby and Lexi leave the apartment. I shut the door, locking it as they leave.

I sat down on the couch, looking at my phone.

'Hey. Colby and Lexi have left the apartment. I'm all ready', sending a text to Jensen.

I skimmed through the channels. I heard my phone vibrate.

'Okay. On my way. See you in a minute or two', Jensen replied.

I smiled softly. I heard my phone vibrate again.

I go to the rest of the messages, seeing a text from Jack.

'Hey. Thank you for dancing with me at the party earlier. Have a good night. Love, Jack'.

I smiled at the text from Jack. I looked at the time. It's about 6:30pm.

'You're welcome. Thank you for the dance as well. Have a good night as well', I replied with a picture of me.

I smiled, exiting the messages. I heard a knock on my door. I got off the couch.

I went to see who it was through the peephole. I see Jensen standing there.

I sighed softly, unlocking the door. I opened the door. I see Jensen, wearing all black.

"Hey, baby. You look beautiful," Jensen said, hugging me. "Thank you. You look hot," I said, smiling,

"Thank you," he said. We kissed each other. "These are for you," he said, giving me daisies.

"Oh thank you so much. They're beautiful," I said. "Jack told me that Daisies are one of your favorites," he said, smiling.

"How sweet of him to tell you that," I said, smiling. "Yes. Are you ready to go?" he asked.

"Yes, let me get Lexi's other birthday gift," I said, heading to my room. I grabbed the bag from my closet.

I headed back to the living room. "Okay, I got it," I said, smiling.

Jensen nodded as we left my apartment. I locked the doors, putting my keys in my bag.

7:00pm

Jensen and I arrived at the Kegs Steakhouse on York Street. I grabbed Lexi's gift as we left the car.

"Thank you," Jensen said, tipping the driver. "Enjoy your night," the driver said.

"We will," I said, smiling. Jensen grabs my hand as we head inside. "Good evening. Table for two?" the host asked.

"No, we're meeting a couple of people named Colby Lopez," I said. "Are you Evie Joanson?" the host asked.

"Yes," I said. "Right this way," the host said, leading the way as Jensen and I followed.

Lexi

Colby and I are at our table, waiting for Evie and Jensen to arrive. Colby still doesn't know that I'm pregnant.

"So where's Evie and her date?" Colby asked. "Evie said they just arrived," I said, putting my phone away.

Colby nodded. "How's the wine?" he asked. "It's good," I said, smiling.

"That's good," he said, taking a sip of his. I look over, seeing Evie and Jensen arriving.

"There's Evie and...," I paused as Colby interrupted as he saw Jensen.

"Oh damn. I was betting on Jack," he said, giving me $20.

"Thank you. Best bet we ever made. Plus, I knew she was gonna choose Jensen before she listened to her heart," I said.

Evelyn

Jensen and I walked over to Lexi and Colby's table. "Hey, guys. We made it," I said.

"About time," Lexi said. Lexi got up and we hugged each other.

"Hi, Jensen," Lexi said, hugging him. "Hi, Lexi. Happy birthday," Jensen said, giving Lexi a card.

"Thank you," she said. "So are you going to introduce your boyfriend?" Jensen asked.

"Yes. This is my boyfriend, Colby Meyers," Lexi said. "Nice to meet you, Colby," Jensen said.

"You too, Jensen. Evie talks about you all the time," Colby said. Jensen and Colby shake hands.

"Oh I bet," Jensen said as he pulled the chair for me. "Thank you," I said, sitting down.

Jensen pushes my chair in. Jensen sat next to me. Lexi and Colby sat back down.

"Did you guys order yet?" I asked.
"We just got drinks," Lexi said.

"Hello, is this the rest?" the waitress asked. "Yes, this is the rest of everyone," Lexi said.

"Okay, what would you like to drink?" the waitress asked. "We'll share a bottle of Pinto Noir," Jensen said.

"Coming up," the waitress asked. "I'll have water as well," I said. The waitress nodded, walking away.

Later on...

We were talking and drinking. We just finished eating our dinner. "That was good steak," Jensen said.

"Very good. Best steak in town," I said, smiling. I notice Lexi pretends to drink her wine.

I took a sip of my wine. "So Colby, how's hockey going?" Jensen asked Colby.

"It's going well. I got into a few hockey fights. It's part of the job," Colby said. "That's true," Jensen said.

"Evie, are you excited about your move?" Colby asked. "Yes. I'm gonna miss living in Canada," I said.

"But she can still travel to Canada with a passport," Lexi said. "That's true, she can," Colby said.

I nodded, smiling. "Once I move to Rochester, I'm gonna apply for a job as a PA," I said.

"Have you still thought about working as a PA for Gen V?" Jensen asked.
"I messaged Eric and told him I'll give him an answer for him on Monday," I said.

Everyone nodded, smiling. "Well, here's to Evie on her future in Rochester," Colby said.

"To Evie," Lexi and Jensen said. We took a sip of our wine except Lexi.

"Since we are all finished eating, I have an announcement," Colby said, standing up. "Oh here we go," I whispered, chugging my wine.

"Today, I want to wish this beautiful woman next to me a happy birthday. She just turned 31 years old," Colby said.

"Happy birthday!" everyone in the restaurant said. "Thank you," Lexi whispered, smiling.

Jensen and I smiled. Jensen and I are the only ones that know that Colby's proposing to Lexi.

I can tell Colby's pretty nervous.

"I've been in love with this woman for a couple of years now. We started out as friends when she first interviewed me after the lock down. Then we started dating quarantine style like everyone. After a few dates with her via zoom, I knew she was the one for me. Lexi, you are the most beautiful woman I ever met, you are my queen and I'm your prince charming with long hair. Baby, I don't want to tell you how much I love you, baby, I want to show you," Colby paused.

Lexi looks at Colby all confused. "Colby, what are you doing?" Lexi whispered.

Colby looked at me, "You got this," I mouthed.

Colby nodded at me as he got down on one knee. Lexi gasps softly, covering her mouth.

"I waited so long to ask you this," Colby paused as he took a deep breath.

Lexi tears up. "Alexis Judith Boutin, will you marry me and become Mrs. Colby Lopez?" Colby asked, showing the ring.

Lexi stays silent for a moment as Colby just proposed to her.
