Every member of the tribe is of a fantastical nature. As implied in the handbook, there are certainly strong connections and even stronger relationships that arise within various members of the tribe. This book is meant to serve as a guide as to everything you need to know about Mating Theory and all aspects found within the process of finding one's soulmate.

BASIC FACTS EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW

1. Each and every member of the tribe has a true soulmate destined for them, regardless of species, gender, or age.

2. However, one is only able to begin searching for them once they pass the age of 18, due to particular changes inside the auras/anatomies of the characters at this age.

3. At age 18, a character develops a passive skill known as the Link. This ability is what allows the feelings of attraction to occur towards potential mates.

4. At first, a single individual can have numerous potential mates, all of varying strength in terms of the Link attraction.

5. Usually the one with the strongest Link is the true soulmate. To figure this out, a significant amount of time must be spent getting to know all aspects of this potential mate.

6. It is important that the Mating Counsellor is informed of any relationships that wish to be taken seriously. Everyone must visit the Mating Counsellor (Moran Flores) in her office for consultation at least ONCE before even attempting to mark or mate with the potential mate. Consequences can be quite dangerous should things get out of hand.

7. Mating is different to Marking. Marking is the act of claiming someone with one's own unique brand administered usually through magic or certain physical contact, depending on the species and individuals. Once marked, you are marked for life. Only very certain circumstances can lead to the erasure of a mark. Marking is what cements the relationship between the two individuals—like human consummation. You cannot go back from it once it has been done.

8. Marking can be extremely dangerous if done on impulse. If once is marked and you are not true soulmates, there is a possibility of the mark slowly poisoning the wearer. If this occurs, it is almost always fatal if not permanently crippling (on the 0.01% of survival). This can stretch between a time of a few days up to a month to happen.

9. It will be common to see couples of mixed species. It is important to note that once mated, pregnancy very, very, rarely occurs straight away. Furthermore, it usually takes up to THREE WEEKS after intercourse before the female will even be able to tell that they are pregnant naturally.

When it comes to the offspring of the tribe, it is important to have regular check-ups with the mating counsellor and the clan doctor to monitor the baby's growth, health, and nature as most, if not all, will be hybrids and inherit various aspects of their parent's physicalities, powers, and weaknesses. Discussion must occur as to what the children's potential may be according to the biologies of their parents so suitable preparation may be implemented upon each child's birth.
