leaving

"Cedric has put your bags in the car." Father reminded me. I bowed my head. "Well, I hope he treats you well and you visit us every once on a while." Mother said to me. I nodded. "I'll see you around then." Eric hugged me. "Yeah, see you." I waved walking out the front doors.

Cedric opened the car door for me. "It's been a pleasure serving you, my lady." "Thank you, Cedric. You always have been one of my favorites." I spoke. He blushed, closing the door after me.

The drive to the prince's castle was dreadful. Having no say in this entire arrangement it felt like a kidnapping. The driver didn't speak much, and the scenery looked of another country.

Finally, we arrived. The driver opened the gates to the overwhelmingly large castle. Unlike Father's, this mansion of a home was set on a hill, fading off into a thick, full forest. The driver parker the car in front of the steps of the house.

Thunderstorms were seen rolling in just off of the forest, like something out a fairytale. The driver opened my door, stepping out I noticed a face in a window on the second level of the castle. A man. I couldn't make out his face because of the glare on the window, but I knew, that man was my burden, my husband.

The driver later introduced himself as Oliver, my personal butler. I shook his hand before he carried my bags into the house. I stalled for a bit on entering the house I would be residing in, taking in every inch of the abode before me. I stared at the large residence, lost in its detail. I was forced to move inside when I felt the cold rain begin to fall before me.

I went through the doors, soaked. There were four people standing there as soon as I came in. "Mrs. Rensen, allow me to introduce you to your maids, Irene and Lucinda, and our chef, Marget. I will be here if you need anything at all." Oliver explained.

"Thank you, all." I said, thoughtfully. "You might want to pop in the shower or soak in the tub before you catch a cold." one of the maids blurted out. "I suppose you're right." I agreed, now noticed I was drenched by the rain.

Oliver showed me up the red carpeted stairs, down the corridors to my room. "If you need anything, just give me a holler." Oliver said, placing my bags on the side of the bed. I thanked him.

I undressed and took a steaming hot shower. I still hadn't processed that I had a personal butler and maids. And why couldn't my partner greet me when the others did? I got out of the shower, wrapping a towel around my body a question popped into my mind. In all this castle, there must be a garden.

Without thinking, I opened my door and called for Oliver. I ran out of my room with a ridiculous smile on my face. I slipped on the dripping water from my legs and feet and hit my head rather harshly on the wooden floors. Due to my own clumsiness, I ended up bashing my head onto the ground so hard, I lost conciseness.
